《Fate》Chapter 2:Itchy itchy

He gradually stood up from the bed and tried to act cool.
But Syphion Mildred was a sly young lady and you could even surmise so from the teasing look in her eyes which looked to be searching for something. Her small smirk seemed to be suggesting that she knew that he was up to no good.
Gabe Mildred knew his sister had got more of his mother's traits of wanting to know everything he does compared to his father's restraint.Although his sister usually fools everyone with her talent of acting dumb,he knew that she was not the innocent and delicate girl she claimed to be.One moment you'll be whistling and telling her all your secrets and the next moment, you'll be backstabbed and crying on the floor wondering what went wrong while she whistles on the side.
So Gabe knew he should not, nay, must not let this little devil see what he hid. After all, reading forbidden books from his father's library was bound to get him, at the very least, a spanking ,or Thea forbid, that vicious wip with electr...wait, there's still hope.
Recently, he noticed that the little devil likes rabbit cuddly bears though she had never shown interest in such things before. She had always been a little on the dark side, clearly biased towards dark chocolates, dark plushies, dark curtains, whips, torture chambers...cough
Anyway, dark things in general. But she seems to have gained a liking for the rabbit gummy bears.Maybe I can bribe...
"Brother..brother...brotherrrrrr!!", his sister shouted in his ears.
Gabe snapped out of his trance and looked at his sister.
"Syphion, what brought you here?", he asked a bit too loudly because of his nervousness.
Darn it!
Her grin grew wider knowingly and she replied with vigour, "Mother wanted me to inform you,if you have forgotten, that it has been two months since you borrowed her favourite black silk dress and she would like it if you had the decency to at least return it by tomorrow evening."

Okay. It's not what you think. It was for a friend of mine.Don't misunderstand.I am an true man.Really✓°∆°✓!
"Haha..ha..ha.Tell her I'll return it at the latest."π-π
"Sure, brother...."She said those words with the slippery tongue of a snake extending the brother part a bit too long as she sashayed out of the room.
Gabe slowly let out the breath he was holding, sighing with relief.
He walked towards the bedside table and pulled out the book he hid. While stroking the title of the book,a pensive look flashed across his face.He thought of his friend who had never stepped foot on land, whose whole life ,till this point ,was spent relying on others.
In the continent of Aeon, people without the ability to move were considered to be Faithless, meaning that Goddess Thea does not watch over them. For him to be born in the continent which worships The Light Goddess Thea ,The Goddess of Movement, was just the start of his twisted destiny.Even without an able body, one would still be able to bear magical reserves in their bodies but sadly his friend, had severed roots.Due to the roots not properly connecting to his lifeless legs,he was once again played by fate.
So even though his identity in the country was second only to the king and queen,he received no respect. On the contrary,he was persecuted because of his condition. No one knew why he turned out this way but one thing was for sure, his friend was no spineless coward.Even as people disregarded him and badmouthed him to his face, his elegant smile never wavered and his scathing remarks always seemed ready to put a hole in his opponent's inflated ego.
There is no one he admired and respected more than that guy and for this reason,he needed to find what he can on each of the goddesses.

Millennia ago, these goddesses of old with the power to decimate the whole of Aquila if they so wished reappeared and gave the kings of each continent part of their power to rule over the people.Maybe they did it to quell the unrest among the people ,as one of their own had nearly destroyed the erstwhile Yer ,or perhaps something unimaginable had happened which led to their decision.
But from then on,the powerful goddesses never reappeared on Aquila.Their blessings always manifested in the form of their symbolic tattoos but the goddesses themselves were missing. No one knew how they looked like or where they went.It is said that their will still exists in their sculptures so a huge throng of people still go there and convey their wishes.
The information ordinary people had on the goddesses was limited.A vast majority of the information was withheld , a well kept secret that only the oldest and most trustworthy families of the kingdoms were privy to and this book was one of the last remaining copies in the entire kingdom of Aeon.So it would be an understatement to say that he would only be beaten by his father.
But if his friend is cured , he could even get roughed up by the whole kingdom and have no regrets. But obviously,he wasn't looking forward to getting caught. He still remembered the last time he was hit by that blue whip of his father's.
Shuddering from inside, he felt that the whole kingdom was nothing compared to his father's whip.He could still feel the bump on his bum from his last transgression.
Anyway he should finish this book and visit his friend soon.He was probably waiting for him.
Thinking so,he ran out back to the secluded garden area and read in the shade of a few itchy bushes.Though his body was tingling ,at least nobody will find him here.
After two hours of extensive reading,he finally got up and ran back at the speed of lightning, accidentally activating his symbol and running straight into more itchy bushes. In the end when he got out,he was more itchy than before.
Itching all the way,he ran back to his house, dumped his body in cold water and finally let out a satisfied sigh.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
