Only an hour or two into tracking the Giants, Alvar and his men arrived at the burnt site where the huge explosion had been seen on the plains. The flames were gone but the ash which remained was still red hot. They walked around the site and Alvar came across a burnt and rotting body. He inspected the body and the area around it before he concluded that the two Giants weren’t the only things they would be hunting for. Varun made his way over to Alvar.

“Do you see the tracks? And the marks on the body?” Alvar whispered to Varun.

“Giants,” Varun replied and Alvar nodded.

“Three of them. And I don’t think these are the Giants that escaped the Mieczyslaw arena,” Alvar said with certainty and seriousness. “This body is not fresh and this fire was caused by an explosion. Prepare yourself Varun, we are hunting a hand of intelligent rogue giants,” Alvar said in a whisper before he left Varun and went back to the wagons where he ordered the men to move onwards. Alvar turned them South aiming to meet the Giants at the shoreline. He calculated that the Giants were travelling through, or near to, the mountains for protection. Whatever the case Alvar knew that he had to be well prepared for this fight.
