《Son of Sparta》Son of Sparta: Karma

An arrow whistled above my head.
I hear a masculine voice call out as I seen his figure slowly protrude from the bushes. Definitely one of the ones that were quest stealing. A bolt was locked and ready to fire from his crossbow.
I raise both of my hands up in defeat. I slowly reach for my satchel with one hand remaining in the air; I decided to hand over all of my possessions without fight.
I hand him the bag and he snatches it. Wary of any tricks I may try to pull. He orders me to face the opposite direction while keeping my hands in the air, If for any reason my arms retract he will shoot me in the head.
I do as he says and allow him to search every nook and cranny of my person. Our height difference made it more difficult for him to frisk me, causing him to bend down with a little more effort.
The back of my head crashes into his chin.
I redirected the bow as he shot, missing his target and hitting the dirt. He pulled out a knife and attempted to stab my side. I interfered with my hand, allowing him to pierce my palm. Taking advantage of the distance, I struck his chin and tackled him to the ground.
As we fell to the floor he released his hold on the knife.
Which was a mistake on his part.
I quickly aim the point of the knife at his neck. His hands feebly stopped my attack. I curse as I could feel he slowly was gaining his strength back.
I start to feel desperate. My heartbeat began to quicken as thoughts started to swarm my head. It's either me or him at this point. I have to kill him. By any means...

He Has To Die.
I ceased my stuggle to puncture his neck for a second, which gave him a false sense of hope.
Ignoring the searing pain in my injured hand, I reached for one of his eyes. His screams echoed from under me but I could not hear a sound. This no longer felt real.
I crush, twist, and pull the slippery piece of flesh from its' socket. The nails from his hands dug into my arm, drawing blood. I could not feel a thing. This felt like a dream.
Taking advantage of the situation, I grab the knife and create an incision about two inches deep on his now un-guarded neck. Making sure to cut and rupture any major blood vessels. His screams morphed into low gurgles as he choked on his own crimson fluid. I seen the life fade from his eye as he slumpt over. He was dead.
I search his body and take everything he had on him and things he stolen from me.
I ran as fast as I could without looking back. I felt each and every breath I took getting heavier and heavier. My vision grew hazy and I think I am about to lose consciousness.
Regardless, I continue moving.
In the distance I start to see the outline of a few houses.

Volume 1 of Fates Parallel is on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited! Check it out here! Also available on Audible! Volume 2 of Fates Parallel is on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited! Check it out here! Also available on Audible! After centuries of endless wars, the three greatest nations of the continent have come together in peace. As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero
No, my name’s not Doug. I lied. Waking up in this hospital bed and right away I’m being questioned. They say I’m a hero, saved some girl. I don’t remember any of that. Like the stories you read, a stranger in a strange world where magic and fantasy races exist, but technology hasn’t advanced. It was all just a slice of life as I learned and grew in this world. Was… Author’s notes. Original work. First draft. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6

New Escape
In a world not that unlike the present exists a fantastic technology to transfer one's consciousness into a game. A new frontier for video games has been opened, and my first experience in this world is an rpg. An escape from monotony and school has led me to experience a brand new world.(I originally lost my motivation for this story and kinda wanted to kill it, but I brought it into this world so I will fix it. I'll probably re-write the first chapters and include a more compelling story. Didn't really write the story for people to read in the first place and after I put it on here I stopped caring, but I am changed!(not too much but just a little))
