《Meanest Mob》3. Question of Existence

Mutagenic Medieval is a world composed of backward governments ranging from tribes, monarchy, villages, and the medieval setting that is a staple in the fantasy genre.
After Alfir's wounds completely healed, he prepared himself to escape the miserable streak he is experiencing lately.
"What matters is that I enjoyed the process..."
He spoke his mantra and continued to stride forward through the mission halls. For minions like him, they have a quota to accomplish— an average of a dozen of E missions. Since Alfir recently completed an S mission even with failure, his participation was duly recognized given the danger levels of the mission.
[MINION #12913

It is good that names don't matter in Zentury. As long as you have this card in your possession, you'll be good. But if that's the case, won't Zentury be vulnerable to spy infiltrations? You wish.
Zentury has comprehensive data among its members with personal identity as the full exception. If you are a member of Zentury, your past doesn't matter. Only your loyalty and liability to the organization is what truly matters.
"Give me a catalog of S missions of Cannon fodder variety."
"Uuummm... Sure."
Alfir has his reasons for seeing this particularly evaded catalog by most minions. Alfir wants to see if there is a mission he can take using his knowledge of this world to his full advantage.
"Thanks."
Now, he needs to prepare. Alfir returned his catalog to prepare himself for the incoming incursion. Since arriving in this world, Alfir is able to accept the ridiculousness of his transmigration. He didn't question how he came here or why in this novel. Alfir is not the kind of person that would entertain reflecting on the 'Question of Existence'. You don't need a grand reason to live.

You exist, because you exist.
This is Alfir's mob way, and it will remain the same as in his past life.
...
S RANK MISSION— Swarming the Immortal King. The Immortal King is a century-old villain that betrayed the organization for his selfish desire to return to humanity. He is one of the organization's founding leaders.
"You lot, I am the executive responsible for setting up this operation. The briefing will be initiated by you squad commanders on our way, move out!"
The minions rode a military jeepney provided by the organization. It is a technology Zentury stole from Force, a giant conglomerate, holding influence over several kingdoms.
The road also resembles the asphalts commonly seen in Alfir's old world. Alfir was reminded by the fact, that this world's trajectory of scientific advancement is incredibly skewed given the lack of gunpowder weapons. Alfir saw his teammates wielding all kinds of steel both orthodox and unorthodox— basic swords, chains with a sickle, chakram, and so on.
"Listen here. I am your squad commander, the mission details are divided into two parts. First is stealth and second is entrapment..."
Alfir attentively listened to his squad commander's words. First, the different squads will be waiting in ambush in several distinct strategic sites. At the target's first sight, the minions will cooperate with each other to surround the Immortal King.
...
The Immortal King lived a long life. The closer he is to death, the more he can feel the future. It is a weird phenomenon that allows the Immortal King to see beyond the intangible. It is commonly accepted that when a mutant hits its strongest, they become more sensitive to life. But the Immortal King is experiencing more than that— 'precognitive abilities that are not supposed to exist' exist. And in these rough mountain edges, he'll meet his death.

"Teacher, I am glad to see you."
"Hmmm... Long time no see, my dear pupil."
Gavin, the Undying, is his only disciple. Gavin has white hair and red eyes, signs of albinism, that many others saw as a devil's mark.
"You are surrounded by the organization. We have an executive, slayers, and countless minions waiting to get a hit at you. Then there is me."
"Let's just do this~"
The Immortal King dashed with superhuman speed delivering a body blow to Gavin.
Gavin successfully defended but the shock is too much for him to bear. His limbs broke under pressure as the Immortal King rain blows at him.
The Immortal King's powers function on indestructibility. Using crude words, it is toughness to an unimaginable extent.
The Immortal King's tissue, fibers, muscles, bones, and even his soul possess toughness like diamonds. In this world, souls have more of a scientific nature being the quantified representation of will, wits, and ego.
Gavin is turning into a bloody paste, but he is not dead yet. Gavin possesses superhuman cellular capacity that gave him such tremendous vitality. Unlike the Immortal King, Gavin doesn't tire.
"Is age catching up with you, teacher?"
"Huff... Huff..."
"Looks like I am the true immortal between the two of us."
The Immortal King looked youthful, unlike Gavin's sudden wrinkly exterior.
Gavin became like this because of the extreme use of his abilities. A minute ago, he looked so much younger but now, he looked like a grandpa. It took Gavin 8 seconds to fully regain his youth with minuscule concentration.
"That's better. Teacher, I did good right? In the past, it took me an average of 30 seconds but now, look! I can do more!"
There was an explosion as Gavin disappeared from the Immortal King's sight. Gavin's right leg shattered as he explosively arrived at the Immortal King's flank. With the same explosive strength, he punched.
The Immortal King that has never bled before finally drew blood.
Alfir saw all of this, and not for the first time in his life— the events he just saw are something he wrote as a flashback to the story of how Gavin, the undying became Zentury's top dog.
He felt more insignificant. It is just right that he experience this world, and the spectacle he just witnessed served as a motivator to Alfir's unstable sprouting obsession to take this world by the center of his palm.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!

In The Tall Grass
Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story
