《The Forsakens》Recommendation Of Teacher

His room was on the ground floor. It was very simplistic. There were one wooden bookshelf and one wooden desk. In front of his desk, two chairs were facing each other where there was a small table between them. All the furniture was dark brown. A few flowerpots by the window were the only decorations in the room. Pot plants were very popular within the school almost every teacher had some.

Sakar and Olga entered the room.

Mr. Yuri: "Welcome! You two came earlier than I expected."

Sakar: "Yes, teacher, what do you want from me?"

Olga: "Teacher, I wonder the very same thing."

Mr. Yuri: "Ohh, thanks for asking, I am fine and you? Also good morning!"

There was no answer to his sarcasm.

Mr. Yuri: "Olga, you don't need to come to my classes anymore. I believe you learned everything about my class, the only thing left for you to pass my class is to do three quests. You know, rules are rules, I spoke to the school president but got a negative reply about your request for passing the class without doing the quests. Find a good party and do the quests. You are dismissed."

Olga sighed and left there. She was cursing the system of the school in her mind.

There was a quest hall in the city center. In the quest hall, people made their requests while adventurers fulfilled these, of course for a corresponding reward. The school made it so every student had to participate in these quests. Even if there were the ones who objected to this regulation which they have to comply with, these were all for their growth according to the president.

To pass the course of beginner shamanism, you had to do three basic quests throughout the year. Olga asked to be exempted from this regulation but she was rejected by the president.

The reason she wanted to be exempted from this wasn't her being a lazy person. She just couldn't find a proper party. Girls didn't want her in their party while boys were looking at her like she was a delicious meal. She just couldn't trust these people enough to go on an adventure together. But the quest hall stated that for a beginner to enlist for a quest, the beginner has to be in a party at least consisting of three members.

After a few seconds of silence, the teacher spoke again.

Mr. Yuri: "Sakar, do you know the construction of the new building?"

Sakar: "Yes, I worked on it as a builder from time to time to earn some money."

Mr. Yuri: "Since you know, you should have noticed that it is completed now. It will start to function as of tomorrow. I will recommend you to Mr. Hakki so you can enroll in his classes instead of mine."

Sakar: "Do you want to get rid of me, teacher?"

Mr. Yuri: "Of course not, I am just helping you so you can learn magic instead of trying so hard to be a shaman."

Sakar: "Magic is considered evil, how can our school teach magic classes?"

Old Marmara was a city-state. They were neighbors to the Kingdom of Zagriba. Zagriba was a country full of magicians whom they were their main military power. It was a strong country that vassalised small countries that are nearby. Only the City of Old Marmara and Water City were free from the terror of Zagriba. Zagriba made many assaults to Old Marmara but failed them all. All of these made people of Old Marmara hateful toward magic.

Mr. Yuri: "Look Sakar, when a person gets murdered by a knife, do you think the fault is with the knife? Magic is also a tool that can be used as a weapon. It is not cursed or something."

Sakar: "I hate magic, please don't give me away, teacher!"

Mr. Yuri: "Nothing to do about it, even though most will hate you for being the first magic student of this country, you are unloved by the spirits so you have no future as a shaman."

Sakar: "My mother has been killed by a mage! I don't want to become a mage. Magic is evil."

Mr. Yuri: "I thought you wanted to take revenge on the killer of your mother."

Sakar: "I want to!"

Mr. Yuri: "Then you need to learn magic. Because it has bigger potential in your case."

He never met his biological parents. His adoptive mother Helen was the person who named and raised him. He really loved his step-mother. She was a woman who lost her husband while she was still young.

He was from the New World. A recently discovered continent. The people of Zagriba made raids to this new continent where most people are not even aware of what magic is. Sakar was one of them. Their village was attacked by the Kingdom of Zagriba. While many were killed including his mother, some were taken captive and transported to the kingdom. There are a few mana stone charger facilities in the kingdom. He was taken to one of these to be used as a mana source to charge stones. He was lucky though, to weaken the kingdom, Old Marmara made many covert operations to them. Sakar was saved from that predicament he was in by the Old Marmara. The country decided to educate him and this was how he ended up in this school.

A middle-aged man that was moving around the hall entered the room since the door was left open. The teacher bowed slightly to the middle-aged man.

Mr. Yuri: "Hello, Mr. Hakki, have you settled?"

Mr. Hakki: "Hello, Mr. Yuri, yes I have settled. I couldn't help overhearing your conversation."

Mr. Yuri: "So would you consider taking him as your disciple?"

Mr. Hakki: "Everyone who applies will be accepted to my classes."

Mr. Yuri: "Congratulations Sakar!"

Sakar sighed and said: "Can I keep both classes?"

Mr. Yuri: "I don't want someone who is not loved by the spirits in my class."

Mr. Hakki: "You will regret it if you don't come to class tomorrow. I feel a strong magic power from you."

Sakar nodded and left the room annoyed.
