《Justice》Chapter 7 - The past

Ever since all these events happened, I've been wanting to get answers, and why the king was hunting me down.
"Chow, why is the King hunting me down? I've done nothing wrong"
"Because of your blood line, and because of what our ancestors did to the royal family"
"What do you mean?"
"you mean you don't know?"
I shook my head. I knew nothing of what happened in the past.
"Sigh. Sit down Laika, I'll tell you the story of the past"
I sat down to listen to Chow's story, I felt this story might take a while to tell.
"15 years ago, in the royal palace, all of the knights were quite capable of taking care of criminals, but a new threat arrived. Dragons came to the land. The King thought of this as a chance to take control of them and use them to conquer other lands. When the Dragons refused to help the King, he was furious.
"The King plotted to kill all the dragons, and succeeded in killing one, but just barely. The King heard of this and thought of an easier way to kill the dragons. He summoned his wizards and sorcerers and they performed experiments, and after many years, they finally found a weakness. Dragonite stone, created from boiling dragon blood and diamonds. The King was pleased to find that his army finally might have a chance to beat dragons. He sent a army of 50 men all with Dragonite swords and arrows"
"The army was surprised with their discovery, the dragons drew weak when they got too close to the stone and upon being hit, could not move. After they defeated 5 dragons, they felt like going on a killing spree but decided to stop and tell the king their discovery. When the King heard of this victory, he was speechless, pleased that after months of experimenting and test but after a while, he began to chuckle, and that chuckle turned into a laugh... a demonic laugh"

But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit.
