World buildn’ like a baus

Narratin’ like a baus

The media was going crazy. Virtual Reality had been out for ten years approximately, games have come in fast but failed to meet up to the hype train’s demands. Those games were quickly abandoned. This was mainly due to faulty advertising about how realistic the environment was. Even if the game boasted 30% realism, it wasn’t enough.

Many programmers and game designers fell into bad health due to the struggle it was to map electric impulses in the brain and code a game to stimulate those things.

The underground organizations were making massive advances in this field though. Mainly because they succeeded in making an immortal. Albeit it was a brain in a jar type of thing. Now they had that brain hooked up to many other questionable devices and gathered a wide variety of data. Now this brain hated the Organization and eventually destroyed them. After that the Brain named itself John made an artificial body and founded a company.

This company went on to develop Eridos: the Ruined Realm. A game featuring nearly 78% realism. Which was an unheard of amount of realism. Today marks the beginning of the games alpha testing. Many people applied for the alpha test, but all were turned down. In an interview the lead developer and company president, John, stated that the game has many risks that could potentially make players brain-dead and/or stuck in the game.

Thus he developed a limited A.I. to manage the alpha testing. After 3 years of Alpha testing did the game finally go into beta testing. Again many applicants applied and a shocking two thousand were accepted, two players for every race. Three days after the official beta launch and the players were just developing their skills, John is contacted by one of his sponsors. The Raider family reported that one of their son’s was in a critical condition with little hope of recovering so they wanted to ‘dispose’ of him via means of the game. John had no choice but to accept.

John harbors an immense hatred to those who use other people as chess pieces much like in this case. John immediately starts to develop a prototype VR pod that could hypothetically heal Grey Raider. The problem that John truly has is that Grey has multiple brain hemorrhages. They are small but will have a significant effect on his memories, personality, and other things still unknown to humans and even to John.

John is further worried that the electrical and chemical stimulation to Grey may also further damage Grey’s brain. However there is nothing he can do about it currently. To top it off the Raider family also stopped paying Grey’s medical bills so John was forced to put Grey in the pod.

John is secretly collecting blackmail against the Raider family but the problem is the tight security that they posess, both physical and code wise. Sadly John can do nothing but grit his teeth and hope Grey will be ok. He further asks his A.I. that he developed to fix and monitor the game to keep an eye on Grey.

Sighing John leans back in his chair and contemplates his next move…

End of first half… my hands REALLY hurt and due to the fact I am on a less addictive but also less effective derivative of morphine I am really sleepy… will past the other half later

Also… for John’s sake how do you do the spoiler tab thing… the code would be nice… or a link to it would be…

PwndHntr now shal be sleeping with the blankets tucked in tight
