《Broken Emperor》Chapter 4

Cayn turned to see them watching through the windows, did not seem to care, went on to leave his mother with the queen for a tea party. The others got back to their talk, Cassis seemed to forget to check with his sister concerning the third prince's identity, he was too occupied looking at Ella's smile. His sister finally noticed this guy spacing out at her new made friend, she pinched him, whispering to him.
Before they could finish their talk, the doors to the room opened. Cayn walking in, his cold eyes looking around, Ella running to his side and hugging him, drawing a smile on his face.
"Careful, you're going to break some bones."
She punched his chest sulking, "I hate you!" Everyone started laughing.
He patted her head, "I have missed you" with his gentle deep voice. Diana turned around fast ending up in her brother noticing.
"Hey, what's wrong?" asking in a low voice, noticing once her again her red ears, "are you feeling sick?"
"N-no," *stupid, you're stupid* takes a deep breaths, *few okay, that was dangerous.* she thought while placing her arms on her flushed cheeks,
She turned around, to her surprise Cayn was staring at her, she quickly withdrew her eyes and paid her respects followed by her brother.
Cayn did the same, then turned to his brothers, "How are my brothers?"
"Pretty good brother," answered Allen.
"Yeah but we seriously missed you" jumps in Rai.
"It's only two days." said Cayn laughing.
"I don't care! It's always empty without you!" joins Ella.
Allen and Cayn met eyes and chuckled, "well, you guys do your thing, I will be outside for a smoke." As he was walking out he patted his sister, while Diana stared at his broad back.

The men went back to their talk, while she was still spaced out till Ella held her hand, "you okay?"
"Oh yes, yeah, was just thinking about something."
Ella smiled and got closer, "hmm, and that something happens to be, my brother?"
Diana got taken aback "w-wha, nooo-n-no." an image of his warm smile appeared in her head as she denied her thoughts, getting embarrassed.
"Ay, brother's charm strikes again,"
"Again? Does this happen often? I, I mean not me but."
"Yeah but for some reason they all get rejected."
"Oh, really," she felt dumb for feeling reassured hearing Ella's words.
"You know what, since it's you, I will help you!"
Diana chuckled, "I would like to know more about him first."
"Hmm, handsome young man, cares only about his family, especially his mother."
"Yeah, I noticed that."
"Well as long as we play on his good side it's going to go well, he can be scary sometimes, but he's the most reasonable and understanding person you will meet, he is really amazing."
"Amazing?"
"Yeah, we all look up to him."
As the talk went on about Cayn the men joined the conversation, the brothers nodded affirming what their little sister said.
"Excuse my rudeness, if I may ask, but if he is respected by everyone here, why isn't he going for the crown prince position?"
The family of three looked at each other, Allen then broke the room's silence "He just, doesn't care."
"A man that doesn't care about being king?"
"Even a king, is but a small being compared to him."
Diana and Cassis met eyes after hearing these words, based on what she saw in the forest, he was, stronger than her father the king.

Allen then continued, "He wishes to live quietly, I hope you can all understand this before we move on to important matters."
"Important matters?"
Rai took over, "I am sure both of you are curious about why we called for the both of you before the heirs of the other kingdoms, we hope to create an alliance of our own, later joined by the Yamato and Roz kingdoms."
"What about Sylvia?" askes Cassis.
Rai smiled and pushed a couple of documents to Cassis' side, giving the siblings some time to read it through.
You could see the expression of disbelief from his face, followed by Diana's, "these sons of b*****!" She couldn't control her anger, her killing intent was so bloody suffocating the room.
"Sister..." meeting her gaze Cassis shut his mouth not daring to utter a word.
She laid her back on her seat, put her leg on top of the other. In everyone's eyes right now Diana had an immense imposing aura, looked at the three siblings coldly, "this matter is too serious for us to decide on our own, one thing I am sure of, is that we'll be standing by your side, help you convince the other heirs, then bringing this to our parents. However the details shall be left after the approval of the leaders, and of course," The bloodlust intensified, "we'll do our best to keep the Sylvia kingdom in the dark."
Ella smiled at her and sat with imposing manner, her words carried as much weight as Diana's.
"That's one of the reasons we decided to talk to you about this matter first."
"The others?"
"Not many, the other reason should be, you." Answering her with a smile, the men were pressured as the women kept staring at each other.
"How did you get information on me?"
"You would be surprised of what the assassination and information guild can do these days."
"That guild? Didn't they disappear five years ago after their leader vanished without trace?"
Ella didn't speak anymore and only smiled gently, it didn't take long for Diana to realize.
"Cayn." murmured Diana, "hoping this doesn't offend you, even knowing that brother of yours is that strong I don't believe he would have been on the level of a sword saint, such as my father and Daciel the leader of that guild years ago, being only nigh teen."
Ella didn't respond, rather moved her fingers activating a spell, "Oh mana, gather around me, show me what lays deep in my memories!" A big screen appeared at the center of the room.
Diana didn't utter a word and only watched, memory magic can't be forged. She rather felt good about the ways of Ella, didn't play around the bush, this serious side of hers appeared to be the same as hers, this wasn't too bad either.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.
