《Protect Humanity Project》8. Cordon off

Olivia, Asia 11
The atmosphere inside the garrison was stagnant because the soldiers, from top to bottom, were nervous about the recent events.
“Commander, none of the five drones we’ve sent so far have returned, and the last transmission we received was lost deep in no man’s land, presumably shot down, ” a young aide said.
Joice Duncan Smelt speech to Pooh a: “Also guess, affirmation is that the gang eats to wait for the death of heavy convict to do. ”
On the huge electronic screen in front of him was a map of the entire 12th arrondissement, which included vast deserts, fetid swamps, abominable salt flats and mysterious mountains.
Five dots on the map, A1-A5 serial numbers, glowing red. Not far from the five prisons, there is a long yellow line, marked with an I, marking the strategic boundary between the 11th and 12th districts.
On the upper right hand corner of the screen, a number kept blinking, changing every second, rapidly changing from three digits to four digits in a short time.
Joice took one look. “Prison a 1, death toll increased to 1,000. Romont, does the federal government have a special circumstances permit? ”
Stunned, the adjutant replied, “The resolution has been passed. ”
“Fine, ” Joice said, staring at the five red dots. His short, blazing hair looked as if it were about to burst into flames from a distance, “So now, the bugs, it’s time to teach them a lesson. ”
Romont’s brow furrowed as she flinched, unable to say anything.
Joice clapped his hands on the table, loud voice: “Seal the border, no more prisoners into sector 12, temporarily hold them in the fort cell. ”. Close all access to sector 12 at the same time, cut off supplies for a month, and when the bugs have calmed down on their own, I’ll consider reopening it. ”
The seemingly frivolous claims actually cut off the only source of food, medicine and resources for the five prisons.
Romont was startled: “Commander, please think carefully, the 12 districts have a population of two hundred and fifty thousand people, several of which are difficult to obtain any survival resources... ” he was interrupted before he said.
Joice turned to look at him, his short red hair flying in the air, black pupils like burning coals: “What, Lieutenant Romont, you want me to be careful with these criminals? ”? To be honest, no one cares how many casualties they cause, a felon is a felon. All you have to do as a defense officer... is maintain order in all five prisons... and continue to defend no-man’s-land. Or can you suggest a faster way to suppress it? ”
Romont heard the words and bowed his head: “Subordinates know. ”

Joice looked at the flashing red dot on the screen. “Rest assured, these are men serving life sentences, and you and I both know that no matter what, there are no women in District 12, so there’s no need to be guilty. They don’t deserve pity... ”
Joice’s expression softened for a moment when it came to women, “According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, there are 9 percent fewer baby girls born in all of Olivia this year than last year, and only 1 in 10,000 of those with a talent for purification, ” he said
By this time, the bloodline class was falling apart, Joice’s generation of more than two dozen young people, only the offshoots had two daughters, and the Duncan family was in decline, or else they wouldn’t have been sent to this godforsaken place to guard the wilderness.
After the New World Federation, there was a period of positive population growth, but that was just the lament of the end of the old era, everyone thought the human race was going to die, but no one dared to mention it.
*
The people of Cell Block A3, Block 12, are surprised by the news that this mercenary man has returned.
“The degenerate has a mind? ”
“No, they can’t even work together, and you expect them to add, subtract, multiply, and divide? ” One said. “I don’t even know how to do that! ”
“If the degenerates could think, we’d be the ones locked up in no-man’s-Land. ”
The Moyan really can’t imagine a zombie thinking, which is one of the things that separates monsters from humans.
The Peiji looked at the mad man not far away and said, “Let’s get out of here. ”
But before they could get back to their safe quarters, the A3 broadcast went off.
The loudspeakers, all over the walls, the squares, the buildings, were turned on, and the clear sound reached everyone’s ears.
“A-1 to A-5, for felons in all prisons, due to the outbreak of unrest in A-1, the 11th Ward guarding the fort has been granted maximum temporary authority by the federal government. The border will be temporarily closed with immediate effect, cutting off all supplies, including food, weapons, medicine and supplies. I ask you to be good, reform, and Resurrection Men. ”
“I repeat: Behave Yourself, turn over a new leaf, turn over a new leaf! ”
The broadcast was repeated three times until the last “Man” dropped and an iron chair was thrown into the air, smashing it with a “Bang” .
The crackling of electricity from the broken radio was prominent in the quiet prison.
After a two-second lull, the crowd is abuzz.
“Fuck them sons of bitches! They’re Shameless! ”
“What? Close the border? Then we’ll starve to death! ”

“They’re trying to trap us here. ”
These men are not good men, most of them have human lives on them, they’re at the peak of their rage, of course they’re capable of anything, the soldiers are behind the lines, there’s no one to discipline them.
So for a while, smash and grab burning, fighting vent, the city became more chaotic, only a few minutes, like purgatory on the ground.
Peiji looked coldly at the throng of people scuffling in the distance, gestured backward, and, as the rest of them knew, the four of them encircled the Moyan, moving as fast as they could toward the building.
No matter who they are, they have a more important mission, which is to keep young girls safe.
Just let them hide again in time, always hit headless fly. Peiji kicked a man running this way, and when the neighbors heard the noise, four or five pairs of red eyes looked over, but turned away as soon as they saw the man foaming at the Peiji’s feet.
Or afraid to come forward and get your ass kicked.
There are too many people in the front, it is not safe to go back to the dormitory at this time. Not far away is the rest hall. Many people are fighting for the rest of the things. In a short while, the ground is covered with scattered rubbish that has been trampled flat.
The Peiji glanced in. “Get in. ”
Several people act quickly, do not drag to the rest of the hall run, when a man and they pass by.
Raole held a black bag in his arms. He glanced at them and was surprised. He shouted at the top of his voice, “Holy Peiji, you’re alive? They said a leopard was killed. I thought it was you. ”
The Peiji ignored him, and a party of five stepped into the lobby, which was deserted and littered with crushed glass bottles and bags. It looked as if the food had been snatched clean in an instant, the usual black market order, was violently overthrown in an instant.
When Murphy opened one of the warehouses, the contents had long since been emptied, but the front door was intact, and the Peiji glanced around and nodded: “Guerin and Tours, you two come with me. Murphy, you stay and protect her. ”
Moyan, sitting on the only stool with his Peiji pressed down, turned away as soon as he felt his yellow pupils give her a deep look.
The tension in her stomach was still too great to be caused by a zombie apocalypse, just an announcement that would put two hundred and fifty thousand people on Edge in a way that infected people wouldn’t dare to do.
The warehouse door was steel and heavy, but she could still hear the voices of strangers behind it.
There are those who rant about the lack of food and how many people are waiting to die. There are those who greet the kinship relation. There are those who fight for food and supplies.
Murphy had been squatting beside her, whispering comfort: “Miss You do not fear, we will protect you, here is safe, the boss will find food back. ”
“Say my name, ” Moyan shook his head.
Murphy thought about her apparent despondency and took a small cherry from her pocket and held it in front of her.
Really too small, just a little bit big, and was covered with the palm of the hand for too long, the skin began to wrinkle. Murphy had been hiding it, thinking it was too ugly, but now it seemed as if he would never get a better looking cherry.
“Thank you, ” said the Moyan, looking at the precious little red thing in the palm of his hand. In just a few days, she had seen how hard it was for the bottom of the world to survive.
Murphy grinned, her teeth showing.
As the fighting continued outside the door, the Moyan thought about it and asked, “What’s that fort in the 11th Ward? Why are they sealing off the border? ”
Murphy sat cross legged in front of her, “We are prisoners, ” he said casually. “They are our guards. The borders of the 12th and 11th districts are an endless high-voltage grid that no normal person can cross, and certainly no birdman can fly over. The only point of contact is the one that the guards open, usually when the prisoners are being escorted in. ”
Murphy scratched his head: “Mo, Mo Yan, you know, the prisoners of District 12 have a lot of freedom, but in fact we are their human shield against the depravity of the kind, are just free thugs, batch after batch, who cares about the life of a felon. ”
“If the goons don’t listen, put them down. When the goons are dead, the rest of the gang will be under control. It wouldn’t be the first time. ”
Murphy spoke so casually that the Moyan felt a tingle in his chest.
Just then there was a knock on the door, followed by a distant PeiJi: “It’s me. ”
Murphy’s face lit up and she was about to open the door when another voice appeared.
“Peiji, what are you hiding here? ” The voice was powerful, and Murphy suddenly remembered the brown bear, named Montgomery.

The Ginsu Mage
Currently in queue: Episode 13 in progress. Set in the Aurora: Apocalypse universe.Updated every Friday. If it's not updating, I'm working on my other fictions. If nothing's updating, I ran out of whiskey. Be patient. The Gunsu Mage is a hot mess of garbage that should not be taken seriously by anyone. It’s a vaguely-GameLit spoof of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomoni (In Another World With My Smartphone) where the MC ends up in another world and fused with his kitchen applicances, mashed up with fantasy western elements. Dungeons & Dragons meets the Wild West in an alternate high-fantasy timeline. Guns & Goblins. Cowboys & Wizards. Locomotives & Dwarves. Don’t expect great writing, accurate numbers, or common sense. Hell, don’t expect anything — just relax and let it happen.

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
