Chapter 10: Baku’s Challenge

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: Main City- Main Street)

(Scene: The city is bustling with news from the Royal Center)

[Narrator]: The day is now February 5th...

*The boys walk down the main street headed for the High University. Along the way, they overhear the citizens talking amongst themselves. It is as active as ever and loud with chatter.

[Male Citizen]: Did you hear the news? There's been talk about how the Oracle reawakened a couple nights ago!

[Female Citizen]: Really!? Wow that's big! I wonder what's going to happen?

[City Officer]: Any idea how long until the big reveal?

[Patrol Knight]: I have a buddy that works in the Royal Center. He's been hearing rumors anywhere between the next 5 to 9 days.

[City Officer]: That soon, huh? Hopefully hell doesn't break loose. Hahaha!

[Barrtio]: What do you guys think these folks are talking about?

[Baku]: I Don't know. I Don't care. I just wanna see the Princess in her underwear.

[Finn]: *Nonchalantly* Yeah, it'll probably be something stupid anyways.

(Setting: Crystal Kingdom: High University- Main Hall)

(Scene: Baku, Barrtio, and Finn arrive at the High University)

*The boys appear in front of their lockers preparing for the day and their upcoming classes. The students were just as chatty as the folks in the city. Everybody must've had high energy today for some reason.

[Leonidas Quark]: Hey, Baku!

[Baku]: Oh, what's up, Leo? How you guys doin’ today?

[Barrtio and Finn]: Whattup, Geek Squuaad!?

[Leonidas Quark]: Baku, me and my friends present to you: all of your previously missed Algebra assignments that you can still get points for, as well as detailed and underlined notes, including flashcards, for all of your core classes!

[Baku, Barrtio, and Finn]: *Surprised* HOLY FREAKIN CRAP!?

[Baku]: *Still Shocked* Leo, why the hell did you do all of this!?

[Leonidas Quark]: I owed you one for helping me out a while ago, remember? Also, you’re my friend, right? That's what friends do!

[Baku]: *Still Shocked* I-I guess they do... Heck, I'm not complaining! Thanks, dude! You guys are heroes!

[Leonidas Quark]: It's not a problem, Baku! Just think of it as a perk of being friends with a guy as totally cool as me!

[Baku]: This is awesome! My grade in Algebra should totally increase after I hand these assignments in and study these notes!

*Baku continues to prepare for his day, which is going well so far, when suddenly Princess Savannah and her friends walk pass his locker and says…

[Princess Savannah]: *Smiling* I'll see you in Astronomy class today, Baku!

*Baku freezes in his tracks as a cold sweat washes is body like an arctic wave. His heart beating a million miles per second, getting completely flustered and red in the face over the fact that the Princess of all people actually just spoke his name. Barrtio, Finn, Leo and his geek squad's jaws drop in awe at what had just occurred.

[Baku]: *Heart beating* ....... D-D-D-Did she just…

[Barrtio and Finn]: *Frantically shouting* DUDE! WHY THE FUCK, DID THE MOST POPULAR GIRL IN THE KINGDOM JUST SAY HI TO YOU!?

[Baku]: *Freaking Out* I DON'T KNOW!? WHAT SHOULD I DO!?

[Barrtio]: BAKU! This is your chance! You gotta capitalize on this occurrence and bring it all the way to home base!

[Baku]: H-Home base!? What the hell does that even mean!?

[Finn]: Baku... If you fuck this up, you will be the biggest loser... You literally have the whole world in your hands!

[Baku]: Uhh... O-okay! I-I'll try to talk to her in my classes... and... uh... get to know her?

[Barrtio]: You need to do a lot more than, "Get to know her", you gotta ask her out on a date, dude!

[Baku]: *Embarrassed* A d-date!? Isn't that little extreme? B-Besides, I'm a stinkin’ peasant. She'd never think of going for a guy like me!

[Finn]: Baku, rewards were never given to those who wait and take no action! You gotta have initiative!

[Baku]: Initiative? What the crap...

[Barrtio]: Baku... Princess Savannah, the most popular girl in the entire kingdom, and the woman of your dreams, just put the ball in your court. You have to take a shot! What's the worst she'll say?

[Baku]: I could mess up badly and embarrass myself in front of all of her friends?

[Barrtio]: And the best that could happen is that she'll say, "Yes!" You got this, bro! Also, once you're in, you gotta put in a good name for me to Lady Akamiko!

[Baku]: I see now, that's why you want me to do this... So you can get a date with a hot chick, too, eh? Well... I guess I could give it a try. I do have Astronomy class with her today, so maybe I’ll try talking to her there... Also, I know you guys would troll me forever if I choke…

[Barrtio, Finn, and Leo]: YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT!!!
