Chapter 9: The Dissection
[Narrator]: The days of the Crystal Kingdom slowly go by, meanwhile, as Baku has been busy with his own personal conflicts, in the Royal Palace the Crystal King actively works with the Oracle, but…
(Setting: Crystal Kingdom:Royal Palace- Oracle's Bedroom)
(Scene: The Crystal King speaks with Oracle Oladion)
*The king appears in a grand bedroom with the Oracle who lays comfortably in a large bed with many cushions, extra soft pillows, topped by warm and comfy sheets. The gems hanging from the chandelier were dimly light as to not hurt the old man's sleepy eyes. Clear see-through crystals soundproofed the walls using an assortment of apparatus' that suspended the technology in midair as they absorbed natural sound, specifically coming from outside of the room.
[King Jeremiah Cree]: ... *Sigh* ... Okay, Oracle Oladion. Did you have any type of visions at all in the message?
[Oracle Oladion]: ... Mmmm... No... I only heard Mother Eternia's heavenly voice… It was as divine as always... Her serene grace truly blessed my senses... If only I could've have seen her once more...
[King Jeremiah Cree]: And all you heard was something about a rebellion and the curse of angels?
[Oracle Oladion]: That is correct, my lord… As vague as it seems, the prophecy nonetheless was the truth...
[Crystal King Jeremiah]: What could that mean... Will a rebellion occur within the Crystal Kingdom or on the Planet Eternia?
[Oracle Oladion]: I am unsure as to which... But I trust that you have been a fair and just king, as your people love and think highly of you, correct?
[King Jeremiah Cree]: Yes, I believe so, in the last fifteen years, the kingdom has been at peace with its people... Unless an uprising is being planned against me? Hmm...
*The king has a troubled look on his face.

*If distrust and hatred had really been cultivating within the kingdom under his nose, under the disguise of fifteen years of peace, the chaos that could result runs risk of being absolutely catastrophic. The Crystal King and his advisors have worked diligently, day and night for many years to smartly allocate the countries resources to support and cater to its people's needs to the best of their ability. But with so many projects being conducted within the city, would it be possible to catch all of the hidden agendas that work against the lands better interest?
[Oracle Oladion]: If what you say is true, then you need not to worry about the wellbeing of your kingdom, my lord… If the people you lead truly had disdain for you and the other royals who govern them, then their anger would’ve been made clear much sooner...
[King Jeremiah Cree]: So then... What of this curse of angels? I can't even fathom how the two can be related. How will that affect the kingdom or the surface world?
[Oracle Oladion]: I am confused by this as well... Perhaps the Holy Goddess is worried about something occurring soon. After all, I doubt she would've let me hear that if she didn't intend for me to…
[King Jeremiah Cree]: The curse of angels…
[Oracle Oladion]: *Yaaaawwwwnnnn*.......... I'm sleepy…
[King Jeremiah Cree]: *Sigh* Yes, I am as well... We shall end this session so you may rest. But before I go, how much longer do we have to figure out this divine riddle?
[Oracle Oladion]: There are 10 days remaining before the Holy Goddess is ready for the Grand Reveal…
[King Jeremiah Cree]: I see... Thank you, your holiness. Goodnight and please rest well…
*King Jeremiah leaves the bedroom after softly closing the door. His wife awaits him outside veiled by the darkness of the hallways that was only illuminated by the great windows that let the moonlight in causing her silver eyes to glow with it.

[Queen Anastasia Cree]: How is the dissection process going, my love?
[King Jeremiah Cree]: *Sigh*... Little progress is being made, and I'm still having trouble understanding the Holy Goddess' message. Also, there are now only 10 days remaining until we can fully grasp the meaning of the divine prophecy.
[Queen Anastasia Cree]: Perhaps it is time once again for the Crystal Kingdom is due for a World Guardian? The previous hero was a woman, isn’t that correct? So, the next one very well may be male. Question is, if so, then whom?
[King Jeremiah Cree]: I agree with the possibility of that happening. I'll work on that theory tomorrow. *Yaawwnn*... I guess...
*The queen smiles seductively and romantically wraps her arms around her husband, whom she loves so much and has been married to for many years, hugging him ever so slightly from behind and whispers into his ear.
[Queen Anastasia Cree]: *Whispering* You are overworked... Come to bed with me, my lust…
[King Jeremiah Cree]: *Hmph* If only you truly insist...
[Queen Anastasia Cree]: *Smiles Seductively* I do...

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
