"I'm OK child, just feeling a little blue is all. It happens when you get old. You have just seen to much and on days like this when you remember the laughs of those long gone, it does not make you smile just shed tears."

"I have been around and seen injustice, I have fought my wars and killed my foes. It never changes, just keeps putting on more makeup. Days like today make you wonder what the point of trying is when a few men who will never see violence in their entire lives order thousands another league onward."

"I have lost friends throught my entire life. I lost them to chance, to opertunity, and even just bad luck. I lost them to war and famin. I lost them everywhere I ever went. I have grown tired of losing but at least at this point, being the only one left of my time, I don't have anyone left to lose."

"I will be OK child don't you worry, Just share some storys with me today and I will share with you. Would you do that for an old man?"

His name was Nathanial but we all called him Nate. He was my gunner during combat, he cut down our foes while I carried us to safety. I was the pilot the shield and he the sword. He was my best friend during the worst years of my life. I loved that man. He pulled me from 3 crashes and got us back to the encampment.

It was shortly before the war ended and we were fighting to rescue our pinned boys from the oppisition. We cut our way into the enemies formation and broke them.

On our way our we started taking fire. We made it out but were hit. My gunner was hit, gut shot. I flew as fast as I could and it still was not enough. I had lost my dearist friend. My brother and for what, to take a hill that nobody had a use for.

After the war was over I went to his family and told them how he died. I owed that to him. His mother cooked me some gumbo and we talked. I told her that I would begain traveling once more and try to put what I had seen out of my mind. I told her my name and rank and wished her well.

If you only take one thing from this let it be that an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. That it only serves those that want to pull the wool over your eyes. That at the end of the day they all had to sit down and talk about it. The bloodshed did not help anyone.
