《An old mans tale!》These Old Bones!

"Thank you for your help young man, sometimes the joints freeze up in my old age you know. Hard to believe that these legs carried me across the Himalaya trecking path, up the side of Everist, and across the Andies mountians."
"Did I not once say that I had travled in my youth? Though not the first to climb their hights I alone can say that it was me that did it. Who knows maybe one day you will make such a claim yourself."
"I must say that they do it wrong in your schools, they teach you so much but never really how to learn itself."
"Of course learning how to learn is not inate. If it was everyone would do it! If it were the world would not be waning and the youth would be taking charge of how the world is being sculpted today instead of waiting for the old folk to do it for them."
When climbing a mountian it is important to know not only where you are going but also where you have been. Your feet can go in the same places that your hands went into in some cases. How stable the stones that you griped before this point can indicate the rest of you journey and so forth.
Being able to identify different types of rock could help as well. When we went hiking on those mountian paths we each made sure that we knew as much about every subject that could come up. We new what plants were edible and were the game trails were. We went in it prepared you see. It is impossible to be properly prepared for anything if you dont know at least something about everything involved.
That is why knowledge is its own reward, because it pays out overtime. You are still young and will make mistakes but the important thing is to learn from them. Never stop making them but always learn something from them. Take a moment and laugh at youself and never take yourself too seriously but always learn something.

If my body was still as young as yours I would not be here right now, I would be floating down a river, or sailing around the world, or maybe flying around the globe and do you want to know why, because I know how to do it. Because I know enough to at least attempt the impossible and try and make history. Because I dare to try knowing that I will probably fail and using that failure to learn how to succeed on the next.
Don't start with the mountian, start small, go camping with your friends on a weekend! Enjoy your youth, it will be gone before you know it and you will use the lessons that you learned during it through out the rest of your life.
I know that I did.

Erik Spearhand was born from one of the many concubines of the current human emperor. The boy was insignificant. He was the only one in the whole world who couldn't use magic.
