《Room Mates (NaLu)》Chapter 17 ~ Goodnight Pinky

Food Orgasm.
That's what they call it.
My eyes rolled back as I slowly sunk my teeth into the juicy meaty-ness of the burger. The spices tickled my taste buds as the wonderful flavour danced around my mouth. I opened my eyes to see everyone at the table staring at me.
"You sure seem to be enjoying that!" Laughed Zeref, who was eating his burger like a normal person.
They carried on looking at me, finding my love for food humorous. I just ignored them. No one was going to separate me and my burger. I took another slow bite. Delicious.
I just couldn't get enough. It had felt like forever since I'd enjoyed the beautiful taste of my favourite food.
"You want another one Lucy?" Teased Natsu, already making me my second burger. I gave him a what-a-stupid-question-of-course-I-want-another-damn-burger look.
Soon enough, we had devoured all the food at the table. The plate previously holding the unmade burgers was now empty, along with the garnish bowl and jug of tonic water.
We all sat -bloated. It's been a while since I've had a good homemade meal like that. Me and Natsu usually order take out or cook some non-expert pasta with a bit of store bought pesto on the side. Such skill.
"That meal was great, thanks guys!" Said Natsu, patting his stomach. He'd ate just as much as me. And by that I mean a lot.
"No problem! I love to cook!" Sang Mavis as she jumped from her seat and started clearing the table.
Me and Natsu stopped her, offering to clear it. Her and Zeref thanked us as the went into the lounge to do whatever they do usually. Eventually the table was clear and kitchen clean.
"Should we watch a movie and cuddle?" Asked Natsu, a smirk taking over his features. "The first time I asked you this I was declined" He joked.
"I'll get the icecream!' I said. Gesturing for Natsu to go up and get something ready on Netflix.
I grabbed the cookie dough icecream from the freezer, along with the sprinkles and sauce we bought earlier. After piling an unessecery amount of 'cavity causers' (as Levy would call it) on top, I whipped two spoons from a draw, and traveled up the narrow staircase and into my room.

I stopped in my tracks as I entered my room. Natsu lay in my white bedding, smiling at my face. My jaw dropped as I looked around the room. The relaxing light of vanilla scented candles flickered against my walls. Many of them dotted across my cabinets. Fairylights that I didn't even know I had, were entwined across my curtain pole, also giving the room a yellow glow throughout.
"Natsu..." I was too shocked for words. "How did you do this in the space of 5 minutes?" I asked.
"Do you like it?" He smiled, looking around the room at his creation.
"I love it, it's amazing" I mumbled, awestruck. Who knew Natsu could be so romantic.
I climbed into the bed, handing Natsu a spoon and placing the ice cream between us.
"I got The Maze Runner up seen as I know it's your favourite" He said, pressing play on the remote and wrapping an arm around my shoulders. I sank into his arm, placing my head on my shoulder.
Together we ate the whole tub of icecream by the time the movie finished. I placed the empty tub to the side and looked up to Natsu's onyx eyes. He leaned down and placed a soft peck on my lips.
It was around 1am now. Me and Natsu had carried on our movie marathon, watching a mixture or genres. I was wavering between consciousness, trying to dstay awake but just finding myself with shut eyes a minute later.
I yawned loudly, stretching my arms up in the process.
"Tired? " Asked Natsu as he stroked my cheek with the back of his finger.
"A little." I said, yawning a second time.
I lay with my head on his chest, him leaning against the headboard of my bed. We were both under my covers, our feet entwined with eachother. I looked up at Natsu to see him looking down at me. It was a funny angle to see him at and I let out a soft giggle. He laughed along with me, my head rising and failing from his chest.
"What's so funny?" He asked, laughing for no reason other than me.
"I don't know, you just looked funny" I said, making no sense whatsoever. My tiredness was definitely taking over my brain. I let out on last laugh before sitting up and kissing Natsu softly on the lips. He bit the bottom of my lip and pulled away a little, gently holding my lip in his teeth. Then he released, giving me another kiss.

"Goodnight Luce" He said, laying down on his side. I mirrored his actions, laying to face him. He draped an arm across my waist and pulled me a little closer to him. I gave him a quick kiss on the nose before slowly drifting to sleep.
-
I groaned as I opened my eyes, adjusting to the light of morning. I was disappointed to turn around to an empty bed. But that disappointment quickly diminished as a very wet Natsu walked out of the en suite. He had a white towel wrapped around his waist, water droplets dripping down his chest. His salmon hair sagged down from the water. I looked to meet his eyes, seeing him holding a smirk.
"Are you done checking me out or..?" He asked teasingly. I got up from my bed and smacked his chest playfully.
"You can't just standing there sexily and not expect me to check you out." I laughed, grabbing a random choice of clothes from my bag and placing them in the bathroom.
After a quick body shower, I was clean and dressed. I was wearing black dungarees with a grey crop top beneath. I stuck a pair of my new Vans on my feet.
"Breakfast kiddies!" Called Mavis, acting like our mother even though her and Zeref were only around 8 years older than me.
I grabbed Natsu's hand who was sat on my bed, before heading to the door, pulling him with me. As we headed down stairs, the sweet smell of pancakes filled the air. Me and and Natsu looked at eachother excitedly and burst into the kitchen
"Bacon and pancakes on the table!" Said Mavis, pointing towards the table where Zeref sat waiting, as she finished off the last few in a frying pan. Sauces, toppings and fruit were sprawled across the table. In the middle sat the pancakes on one plate and bacon on another. It looked good. Very good.
Sooner or later the food had been devoured. Me and Natsu cleared the table before sitting back down with a coffee for everyone.
"So what are the plans for today?" I ask, taking a sip of my drink and placing it back down on the wooden coaster.
"It's up to you two really, maybe we should meet up for dinner and a movie tonight, that leaves you and Natsu the whole day together" Suggested Mavis.
Spending the day with Natsu did sounds nice. Then just a relaxing movie later on would be great. We all agreed on the plans; leaving me and Natsu to spend most of the day together. We made our way upstairs to decide what we were going to do together.
"Any ideas?" Said Natsu, walking towards my bed and sitting on the edge of it.
"Why don't we go for a walk? There's a really nice park nearby and we could bring a picnic for lunch?" I suggested, somehow thinking about food already.
"That sounds great babe." Said Natsu with a smile. I blushed at his words; that was the first time he'd ever called me babe.
I walked towards him, wrapping my arms around his neck as he craned his head up to look at me. I bent down, planting a soft kiss on his lips. He wrapped his arms around my lower back, pulling me closer towards him.
I looked down to him as he looked up. His signature smile taking over his face.
"You're so cute" I mumbled, twiddling his soft hair around my finger. He chuckled before pulling me into a hug, kissing my neck.
Soon he pulled away, locking his eyes with mine once again. He stroked my cheek with his finger before getting up and pulling me with him by my hand.
"Let's head out." He chirped, grabbing a rucksack he had brought from his suitcase.
I grabbed a spare blanket from my wardrobe and passed it to Natsu, who then put it in the bag along with his wallet and my keys.
We called our goodbyes to Mavis and Zeref, opened the front door and left, hand in hand.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
