《Blue Fire》SUNSETS

After she ordered her smoothie and started walking over to the boys, she paused. "Are you sure you don't wanna come? It could be fun!" She nodes taking a sip of her smoothie. "No thanks. Maybe later." I watch her walk away and got my book out of my bag.

I sat down in the sand close to the water but far enough that the sands dry. I started reading The sun and her flowers, I'm not that good at writing poetry but reading it is always fascinating. Someone sat down next to me but I ignored them hoping they would leave soon. He turned to face me and spoke. "Hey your friends over there are pretty loud." I continued staring at my book. "Tell them to quiet down then." He chuckled at my reply and looked out into the water.

I put my book down to check what time it was. 6:25. Next thing I know the guy who was sitting next to me is running down the beach chasing after my book. I gasped and ran over to him before the book got in the water. Thankfully he caught it. "This is a pretty nice book you're reading." He said with a playful smirk. "Thanks." I replied kinda wishing he let it float away.

"Do you write?" He asked still holding the book. "No, do you?" I said puzzled. "Yeah I came here for inspiration..." He chuckled at the look of surprise on my face. "...who's your favourite poet?" He asked. "Um I don't know actually, I've never really read any poetry besides that and children's books." He nodded. "Oh I suggest that if you like this that you read Christy Ann Martine she's one of my favourite. She's what started my love for poetry when I was around ten."

We walked a little longer in silence until I asked "So did you find any inspiration?" He smiled at me and I couldn't help but notice how the streaks of orange and red of the sunset outlined his curly hair, or how his freckles danced on his face. Why do I fall in love with almost everyone I meet. "Yeah, I think I did. I guess I'll give you your book back now." He said realizing he was still holding it. "Thanks." I laughed.

"Are you cold? Maybe we should start heading back." He asked with a hint of concern in his voice that slightly confused me."Yeah, I agree. It was nice meeting you..." I tilt my head. "Finn! And you are?" He grins. "Sadie. I'm Sadie." His grin gets wider. "Well, bye Sadie. It was nice talking to you. I think your friend is waiting for you." I turned to look at Michelle and saw her giggling. I looked back and he's already gone, but I'm still smiling.
