《Boss's Order's》Chapter 4

The next thing I'm aware of is a pounding in my head, and that I'm laid on an uncomfortable bed with the lights blinding me.
Trying to sit up, I slump back weakly? I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck. Groaning, I slowly attempt again to sit up and look around.
Crap I'm in hospital; stupidly pointing out the obvious.
Checking myself over I realise I have an i.v, and grimace at the sight; I hate needles. I also painfully realise I have a catheter too, and get up slowly towards the bathroom.
After removing it, along with the I.v, I stare at myself in the mirror and gape. I look awful!
Making my way slowly back into my room, I search for the clothes I came in wearing, and grumble not finding them. I do however find some sweat pants in a small bag of clothes that someone had brought me from my house.
Seeing that they'd been kind enough to bring toiletries too, I get up and leave the room in search for a shower; I'd definitely feel better after I got clean.
Finding one quickly, and not passing anyone as I left, I lock the door behind me and get cleaned up. I can feel the throb of stitches on the back of my head, and decide to leave my hair alone for now. Tying it up loosely with a bobble I find, I strip and get into the shower.
Once I'm satisfied I'm clean enough, I get out and dressed.
Thankfully whoever got me the clothes brought underwear, too. Dressing in the sweats, tank top and my converse -that I haven't worn in years. I make my way slowly back to my room.
Entering I stumble upon chaos. The Doctor and nurse are both arguing loudly, Margaret is crying, and her son is sat there just watching everything.
"Uhm? Hello, what are you doing?" I shout annoyed, then wince as my head hurt. "Can you all shut up? My heads pounding right now."
They all turn to me and freeze. The doctor comes rushing to me and grabs me, leading me back to bed.
"Miss Stewart get back into bed. You aren't well enough to be up and about. You scared us all, we thought you'd left." He scolds me angrily.
"I feel fine apart from the headache. I can manage that with pain pills, I just wanted a shower. Didn't anyone think to try and find me in the bathrooms around my room?" I ask exasperated.
They all just stare at me, and I groan and sit myself onto the bed.
The nurse immediately comes to me and checks my temperature and blood pressure, she smiles at me, and informs the Doctor that they are normal.
"Don't like needles, huh?" She asks me quietly.

I shudder and shake my head, and she shakes hers back at me clearly annoyed.
"Miss Stewart, the pain in your head on a scale of one to ten, how much does it hurt?" He asks serious.
"Around six, like I said I'll be fine after a few pain pills," I reply annoyed. "I've had plenty of headaches before."
"Miss Stewart, you've been unconcious for five days now, you aren't fine, and this isn't just a normal headache." He replies obviously exasperated with me.
"Wow five days, that's a record for me I suppose," I reply honestly. "Anyway no more about that, when can I leave?"
He shakes his head, and leans over me parting my hair to check my stitches.
"Tomorrow. I'm hoping you didn't get your stitches wet when you showered?" He asks.
"Nope, all dry." I reply amused at how easy it is to annoy him.
"Good, I'll leave you with Nurse Jenkins. Stay in bed and rest, you can leave after our rounds in the morning? Okay?" He asks firmly.
"Yep." I reply trying to sound truthful.
He gives me a purely sceptical look, and once he's left I stand up and turn to Margaret.
"Margaret? How is he?" I ask nervously. "He's alive, right?"
"He's okay. We've been so worried about you Arianna, your brother Marcus, even flew here. John's been so worried too, he's watched the CCTV from his office and saw how you were injured. Why didn't you tell anyone?" She demands me angry.
"Uhm, I forgot." I reply sheepishly.
"How do you just "forget" you're bleeding?" She asks bewildered.
"I was more concerned over getting John help than myself," I tell her quickly. "It didn't hurt after I'd done it anyway, hence why I forgot." I reply, shrugging.
She just shakes her head and hugs me tightly. The nurse hands me two pills while I'm distracted, and I eye them critically.
"Will these make me sleepy?" I ask her. "I don't want to go back to sleep just yet, I'm feeling fine."
She looks at me wide eyed, and I immediately know the answer. Chucking them into the bin, ignoring her protests.
"Can we go see John now? And maybe the cafeteria too, I'm starving?" I ask Margaret.
She looks unsure, but gives in and nods at me smiling.
"Sure, let me help you though," She says grabbing my arm gently.
"Miss Stewart? The Doctor told you to rest and not leave!" The nurse says to me annoyed. "Please stay in here, and I'll bring you something to eat instead?"
"Nope, I'm good. Thanks anyway, I'll be back later," I tell her politely as I leave the room "I'll make sure to sit while I'm seeing John."

We slowly make our way up to John's floor, and I feel exhausted already. Who knew being unconcious left you so tired?
We step out of the lift when I go light headed, and stumble slightly. Before I can fall though, I'm caught, and gently righted.
Margaret's son gently let's me go once I'm stood upright again.
"Thanks." I mumble embarrassed.
"It's fine." He replies in a deep voice.
"Are you sure you're well enough Arianna?" Margaret asks me worriedly. "You can visit John another day, we can go back to your room if you need to?"
I shake my head stubbornly, and we set off down the corridor to John's room.
I notice the two men who were there the day John got brought in were here, and stiffened up remembering their nastiness from last time.
They look away, as I enter and Margaret scowls at them.
"Arianna! How are you? I'm so sorry you were hurt dear, but thank you for saving me. You're an angel." He says making me blush brightly.
"Thanks John, I had to stop you falling and hitting your head somehow. I'll be fine anyway I have a hard head." I reply, smiling at him.
The doors opens behind me, and the room goes silent as someone comes in. I hear someone clear their throat loudly and freeze up, debating whether to turn or not.
"Miss Stewart? I thought I told you to stay in bed and rest?" The Doctor from earlier demanded.
Taking an empty seat beside John's bed, I turn to the Doctor and point to the chair.
"See I am resting. Look all rested?" I reply smiling at him.
He scowls at me, and continues giving me an angry glare.
"You aren't well enough to be walking about the hospital. Why didn't you take your pain meds?" He asks annoyed.
"Because they'd knock me out again. No thanks, I'll deal with the pain for now." I reply honestly.
I hear him mumble something that sounded suspiciously like '"Idiot" under his breath before, checking on John.
John is watching me frowning, and I smile sheepishly at him.
"Arianna if you need to rest, go. I'm fine now dear, go take your meds." He replies gently.
"Okay. I'm going to grab something to eat first though. There's no way I'm eating the food here, it's vile." I say standing up.
As I stand I wobble weakly, and the Doctor rushes and grabs me to steady me.
"Miss Stewart go to your room right now! You still aren't well enough, can one of you take her downstairs?" he asks loudly. " Someone go grab a wheelchair from a nurse first, please?" He asks.
I hear someone go out of the room, as he sits me back down.
"I'm fine! I don't need a damn wheelchair, I can walk. Now move, I just felt light headed from not eating in nearly a week." I grumble annoyed.
Margaret comes back in wheeling a chair, and I groan loudly.
I stand and the Doctor helps me into it, Margaret's son takes it from her and wheels me from the room.
"Bye John, take care. I'll visit you tomorrow," I call to him as I'm leaving, much to the Doctor's dissaproval.
"Bye Arianna. Be good, and rest." he says smiling at me.
"Uhuh, sure will." I reply sweetly.
He grins at me and shakes his head.
I stay silent until we get into the elevator, then press the button for the ground floor where I know the cafeteria is.
Margaret sends me a small scowl, but I pretend not to notice. I'm wheeled into the room and my stomach growls loudly, much to my embarrassment.
"What do you want? I'll go get it, Mom stay with her please?" He asks and turns to me expectantly.
"Two large cheese burgers, large fries and a Coke, oh and a large white chocolate cookie, a large coffee with cream and two sugars." I reply seriously.
He gaped at me, and shook his head before walking off, leaving me smirking.
"So Margaret? Who the Hell is he?" I ask her annoyed.
"That's Alexander my eldest son, he's thirty. He was visiting us when John fell sick. He's not a talkative person, sorry." She replies.
"Okay. Do you have any aspirin, or anything? My heads pounding right now." I ask weakly.
She rummages through her bag, and produces a bottle of asprin and hands them to me. I gladly take two swallowing them without water I'm that desperate. I lean back in the chair and rest my eyes for a bit until the food gets here.
The next thing I'm aware of, is that someone's gently nudging me.
Looking up I see Margaret looking down at me worriedly, and realise Alexander is back with the food.
"Sorry, must of dozed off, I feel fine now though, thanks for the aspirin." I mumble quietly.
Alexander hands me my mountain of food, and I immediately dig in. It doesn't take me very long to finish it all, much to Margaret and Alexander's amusement.
I sit back, feeling completely stuffed.
"Thanks. I'll pay you back when I get my purse." I reply firmly.
"No need. That's on me." He replies seriously.
Not wanting to argue I ask to go back to my room, and soon I'm climbing gratefully into bed.
The nurse comes in handing me two pain pills, and I take them immediately with no complaint.
I fall to sleep listening to Alexander and Margaret talking quietly.
