"Leah." A voice called out.

"Leah." It called again, sounding frustrated.

"Leah!" The voice yelled causing me to snap out of my own thoughts.

I looked over to see a frustrated Kayla sitting in front of me.

"What?" I said innocently.

"What has you so spaced out?" She asked taking a bite of her sandwich.

We were currently sitting at our usual table at lunch. I didn't have much of an appetite at the moment. Which honestly, is rare.

I'm literally always hungry. Half of my backpack is snacks. Cookies, chips, candy and once in a blue moon fried chicken.

What can I say? I just love food.

I just shrugged my shoulders and ate a fry off my plate. "Nothing. Just thinking about all the homework I have." I lied.

Kayla narrowed her eyes looking at me suspiciously. A moment later her eyes softened. "Is it about Nate?"

I arched an eyebrow. Nate hadn't crossed my mind. My thoughts were still stuck on what happened less than thirty minutes ago.

Jace Emerson.

After our agreement, Jace left without saying another word. He left me confused standing there like an idiot.

What caused his change of heart?

I was curious.

There I go again zoning out.

Shaking my head clear. I focused my attention back to Kayla. "Speaking of Nate, where is he?"

Kayla shook her head. "No clue, I saw him walking towards the school entrance right before lunch. He looked upset about something."

I furrowed my eyebrows. Nate was upset? About what?

The bell rung signaling the end of lunch before I could continue my thoughts any further.

It was finally the last class of the day. I was happy that this day was over and couldn't wait to get home. I needed brownies and I need them now. That's all I had on my mind. Warm, chocolatey, fudgy brownies. Maybe with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. As if on cue, my stomach grumbled.

Oh, I just made it worse.

I told you I love food.

I took my seat next to Kayla. I pulled out my notebook and pen starting to jot down the notes written on the board.

My eyes landed on Nate as he entered the classroom. His eyes piercing into my own. My breath caught in throat as he walked towards his seat. The tension in the air increase drastically as he took each step forward. His jaw was clenched.

He was upset.

His eyes shifted away from my own as he walked passed me and took his seat behind Kayla.

No hi.

No hello.

No, 'Hey Leah!' With his bright smile as usual.

What upset him so much?

Just as the bell rung, Jace waltz in. A smirk evident on his lips as his eyes landed on me.

"Hey princess." He whispered huskily into my ear as he took his seat behind me causing a shiver to run down my body.

I bit my bottom lip. Why did something so tiny affect me so much?

I shook my head. I can just imagine the smirk that Jace had on his face.

Half of the class passed by uneventful, until our biology teacher spoke up.

"For the remainder of the class, I will break you up in groups of two and you are to work on the questions on the board. The answers are found in the chapter we just finish covering." Mrs. Monroe spoke.

She started pairing off students. When it came to my row she paired the person in front of me with the person in front of them.

Then that means.

"Leah, Jace. Turn towards each other. You are partners." She said. Moving onto the next group.

Before I could turn around, Jace pulled my chair and turned me around to face him.

I arched an eyebrow towards him. He just smiled cheekily at me.

I brought my notebook and pen to his desk top. I started to work on the problems. Well, try.

I could feel Jace's eyes on me the whole time.

"Can I help you?" I asked aggravated looking up to meet his eyes.

This causes the smirk on his lips to widen.

"Wanna tell me who we're trying to make jealous?" He asked leaning back in chair, crossing his arms across his chest causing the muscles to flex from the slight movement.

"We're not trying to make anyone jealous." I told him turning my attention back to my paper.

"Then what are we doing?" He asked taking the pen out of my hand causing me to look back up to him.

"We are trying to show someone that I have moved on from the past." I told him trying to reach for my pen.

"Isn't that the same thing?" He questioned.

"No, it's not. This person wouldn't get jealous at anything I do."

Jace raised a brow. "Why is that?" He asked.

"Jace, just give me back my pen so we can finish this assignment." I said frustrated.

"First, you have to tell me who it is?" He said waving the pen in my face.

I bit my lip and thought about it.

Should I tell him?

I mean he does have the right to know also.

But I wasn't sure if I wanted to share that with Jace. If I do then questions would start rolling in from him. Ones that I rather not answer at the moment.

Especially since that person is in this very classroom.

I look back to see Jace's eyes on my bitten lip. Which caused me to instantly release my lip. His eyes snap back to my own causing myself to arch a brow.

What was that?

"Well?" His voice coming out slightly husky.

"No." I told him reaching for my pen once more. I didn't want to tell him will Nate was here.

"Well, I'll just have to get out of you the hard way." He said handing the pen to me.

"What?" I asked unaware of what he meant. I grabbed the pen from his hand.

Just has Jace released the pen, he grabbed my wrist softly. He tugged me closer causing me to lean across the desk, his elbow resting on the desk. His face close to my own meeting me half way on the desk.

I felt his warm breath against my cheek. His knee brush slightly against my thigh under the desk. We were close enough that I could smell the faint hint of his cologne.

Wow, he smells good.

To anyone else, this would look like Jace and I were about to kiss. Our face were close enough that if either one of us leaned and inch more our lips would touch.

But I knew better, I knew Jace was trying to get under my skin. He was trying to get me to spill my secrets to him.

This is a game to him.

He wanted nothing more than to win.

Was I going to let him?

Hell no.

Two can play this game. And that's exactly what I was going to do.

I bit my bottom lip once more. Jace's eyes landed on them once more.

Does Mr. Bad Boy have a weakness to lip bitting?

Let's find out.

I nibbled on bottom lip slightly.

Jace's hazel eyes slowly darken at the sight. His grip on my wrist tighten slightly. Seems like we hit a nerve.

Before I could react, I heard the sound of a chair dragging along the floor and a loud thud followed.

I broke away from Jace's grip to see Nate grabbing his backpack. His chair fell to the ground as he took long strides to the door at the back of the classroom and exited slamming the door shut causing the classroom to shake slightly.

I furrowed my brows at the sight. What just happened?

Jace leaned back in his chair, eyes filled with amusement. "That was easy."

I shook my head and looked back down at the assignment. He was going to find out eventually. Better he did now.

Then my thoughts landing on Nate.

What has him so upset?
