《The Untold Stories - Season 1》Brotherhood (Episode 2)

A tall man stands before the Orphanage holding onto a black walking stick covered in skulls and Mertle Tongue translating into "Those who seek will face Destiny". The man appears with a coat as dark as night hiding his grey suit and a white flower peeping out of his pocket. His dark curly hair and red eyes glisten in the street lamp giving him the spot light.
Unknown Reader: His name is Llama MacCarones more known as the Professor at the Witchcraft and Wizardry Magical Arts Approval House and has taught up to 107 Witches. No witch or wizard throughout the whole country knew why his appearance started at a Orphanage but it created a new beginning to an Untold Story.
The Unknown Reader's voice echoes away and footsteps tapping on wet concrete make a sudden appearance; black and red decorated shoes walk into a puddle and stop infront of a black gate with a plaque in the middle:
Before the plaque rests an Elder mansion with dark grey bricks lining the walls like a Haunted House. The windows watch like a Bold Eagle most with cracks or close to their smashing point others with cobwebs infested with the dangerous Black Widow. Every splat and squeak his boots make while creeping closer and closer towards the house, his grey gloves reaching past his head to unlock the door without even touching it. As he walks inside the walls decorated with dark floral wallpaper and the edgy corridor lined with creaky wood floorboards make up the reception at the corner of the reception is a dark-wooden desk with a petite woman. Her freckles, glasses and ginger hair tied in a bun tells the man that she is a smart but serious girl.
Girl: Hello? Can I help you?
Professor Llama MacCarones: Hello... I am looking for... Mr. Samiskowski?
The Girl puts a hand under the table to reach for something - something heavy and brings her hand back up with at least five hundred pieces of paper, flicking through all of them Llama can notice troubled kids, abandoned kids, homeless kids etc until it lands on Mr. Samiskowski. The Number #445 is marked with deep black ink meaning he is a Troubled Kid, underneath the Number lies Unknown Parents aswell as a Picture of a young 7 year old boy with another 7 year old girl. Llama quickly looks back at the girl and smiles as she leaves from her tiny desk with the paperwork clutched to her chest. They waddle down a corridor and Llama looks inside some of the rooms containing Orphans; the children staring right back. By the time they reach the far end of The Western Wing the girl steps back and unlocks the big silver door while from afar. Llama takes a step inside and looks at the 16 year old man hiding behind his knees, Llama waves his hand and the girl faints falling on the floor like a glass.
Mr. Samiskowski: You're here for me aren't you?
Professor Llama MacCarones: Yes but for the right reasons. I am not a Doctor, I am a Professor who studies those with... unique talents.
Mr. Samiskowski: They all laughed at me here. I could make animals hurt themselves, the wind make them fly away and make objects move without touching them. They called me a Freak.
Mr. Samiskowski carries on talking but it fuzzes into a memory.
Mr. Samiskowski Real Life: The Matrons took us to Erie for a day away from the Orphanage. They thought it was a good idea to bring everyone. When we were all there most of the matrons just cared about their tans and left us to play in the playground.

Wavy John: Kalani, what are you doing here by yourself? You're not only a Freak... you're a loner and a bitch.
Other Bully: Our bitch.
Wavy and the other bullies laugh at Kalani for sitting on the swings alone, other kids around the playground look and stare as Kalani raises his head to face them.
Wavy John: Want a second round?
Kalani screams at them, his eyes turning black. The other bullies all show shocked expressions and slowly walk away from Wavy, while they are doing this Kalani raises a hand and Wavy is sent flying back. All the other kids and children scream as Wavy lands on a metal bar sticking up from the ground. The Matrons turn around and scream, their screams echoing back into reality.
Professor Llama MacCarones: And what did they tell you was wrong?
Kalani Samiskowski: They said I pushed him onto the iron bar and I will be sentenced to prison in 2 days. But it was a mistake, they have it all wrong I didn't mean to kill him.
Professor Llama MacCarones: What I teach is for young Witches and Wizards to control their powers and able to be approved by the Witchcraft and Wizardry world. We haven't had a Wizard since the 1970's. You know who to call if you want any help or to join.
Llama hands him a note with "Llama MacCarones" on one front and at the back:
Kalani and Llama take a brief second looking at each other before Llama turns his head and a gush of wind wraps around the room at the same time the curtains float to the inside of the room, he is gone. The Girl who fainted and fell like paper awakens and immediately looks towards Kalani, smiling.
Kalani Samiskowski: Good afternoon, Miss Bunny.
Miss Bunny: What? Where did the Doctor go?
Kalani Samiskowski: What doctor? Are you hallucinating again Miss Bunny?
Miss Bunny: Shut up.
Miss Bunny regains her strength and slams the door shut, locking it with one turn. The camera angle hops through the window of the door and onto Kalani looking at the note, he looks up at the camera and slowly smiles.
Sophie looks into a whole-body view mirror in the corner of the room looking at different angles in her blue sparkly dress. She scoops up a matching blue ring and slips it onto her left middle finger, the decorations on the ring contain a silver outlining and a nearly visible silver floral design in the middle travelling all around the ring. Kieghan and Chelsea both walk into Sophie staring at herself from different angles in the mirror.
Kieghan South: What the fricksticcles are you doing?
Chelsea Williams: We don't have time for checking ourselves out, this party is meant to be the biggest thing ever and I want to make an impression.
Kieghan South: C'mon... the only impression you need to make is to not look like a slut.
Sophie McDonald: Shush both of you. I still have to put this on.
She motions towards a matching silver and blue necklace, it also glistens and Kieghan responds with her mouth open.
Kieghan South: That looks like a million dollars.
Chelsea Williams: A million? Seriously?
Chelsea gasps at Kieghan and acts like a million isn't much. Chelsea walks past Kieghan and picks up the necklace, tying it around Sophie's neck, she lets out a shock of pain as the necklace digs into her neck for a second but recovers quickly. As Chelsea clips it on, she waves her hand and a green energy leaves her hand and into Sophie's neck.

Chelsea Williams: That will protect you from any sores or burns.
Sophie McDonald: Thankyou.
Chelsea nods at Sophie and steps back meanwhile Kieghan inspects one of Sophie's red heels with wide eyes. Chelsea looks back at Kieghan judgingly and quickly grabs Sophie's hand while walking straight towards the door.
Chelsea Williams: Can we finally leave? I'm getting bored.
Kieghan and Sophie make loud cheers as they all wave their hands in the air and sing songs while the camera leaves the room. The camera travels down the street while dozens of cars drive up the road with blasting music.
plays while the camera carries on travelling down the street. "The Untold Stories" appears in the background by the dark sky, different colors around the sign flicker in the beat of the song, the sign turns off as the beat drops and the camera now travels lower. At least 100 teenagers from all directions leave their big fancy cars and walk up the street to a brightly lit and blasting music Fraternity House.
Kieghan, Sophie and Chelsea all laugh at each other's jokes as they reach the blue house one man on the left pukes into a trash can and a friend helps slap his back. Behind the two men are two people in a bush moaning and others swinging around a tree. The music starts to become quiet now and blends in with their walking up to the main door close by. To the right they notice a bunch of people partying to a person with a stereo blasting more music. By the time they reach up to the porch they notice two twins crossing their arms while staring at Chelsea, behind them sits Rachel acting like a Queen.
Rachel Poppies: You jealous? You don't mess with the Queen. Spookey, Plastique make sure I don't see them throughout the rest of tonight.
Kieghan and Sophie look at Chelsea with faces asking her is she okay.
Chelsea Williams: I'm okay... I don't need her anyway.
They walk into the house and the humid air hits them in the faces. Many people party and dance to the walls and in the middle people acting like royalty, popular kids sit around on the couch smoking some weird looking cigarette. In the kitchen, piles of different alcohols from across the globe in different decorated glasses, most of them half empty or completely empty.
Chelsea Williams: Okay i'm going to get us some drinks.
Chelsea grabs hold of Kieghan and they both walk toward the kitchen leaving Sophie in the middle of the room close to the popular kids. As Sophie walks around the house looking at all the personalities and different people at the party she notices at the corner of one of the rooms the popular Cat Montreddins being close to a curly-haired boy. Sophie walks over to the corner of the room in hate to separate the boy and Cat and taps the boy's shoulder but as he turns Sophie turns mute and acts all shy.
Boy: What do you want?
Cat Montreddins looks at Sophie for a brief second while her arms around the boy's head. She lets go of him and picks up a red cup while sipping on it, the silence dooms the three of them before Cat silently places her cup down and turns the boy's head back to her.
Cat Montreddins: She's Sophie McDonald one of my "housemates".
Cat now turns towards Sophie.
Cat Montreddins: And this is Toby Savannah and NO we're not dating. We've just been very close best friends since we were both 5 he's currently the Frat Leader of this house and his "co-worker" is his special friend, Smithie Evans. You mess with Toby you mess with the whole brotherhood.
She rolls her eyes while shaking her head allowing the hair to flicker around before pushing Toby away.
Cat Montreddins: I'll show you around.
She winks towards Toby as they part ways and grabs hold of Sophie's hand. She firstly points at a boy in the corner on his phone called Ivan and then points to two teenagers running up the stairs called Carly and Chance. The others appear muffled but she makes it to the previous popular kids at the couch but quickly becomes distracted and takes Sophie towards Chelsea and Kieghan who were laughing in the kitchen. Kieghan turns towards Sophie and makes her previous shocked face at Cat.
Kieghan South: So-so-so yo-you are Cat Montreddins?
Cat Montreddins: Obviously.
Kieghan South: *whispers* how are you a Witch? You're perfect!
Cat sighs at this remark and starts to speak towards the three but in a quiet tone, the camera becomes fuzzy but then appears at a stage.
Cat stands on a stage with two other girls behind her, she exhales and inhales as they call out her name. She slowly tiptoes towards the center of the stage and notices the man staring at her from the crowd.
Cat Montreddins: I will be singing 'Born to be My Baby' by Bon Jovi.
Director: Go ahead.
Cat Montreddins:
We got something to believe in
Even if we don't know where we stand
Only God-
Director: Stop stop stop it is awful don't sing that song ever again.
Cat looks back at the two girls giggling and pointing at her. Her face turns red and she looks up at the lights above the director's head. The Director looks down to cross Cat's name off but Cat looks back up at the light and moves her pinkie, the lights falling down. The two girls and others surrounding the stage scream in fright as a crack can be heard. The camera focuses on Cat acting shocked but showing a little grin. The camera goes fuzzy and turns back to reality.
Sophie and Kieghan cover their mouths in shock but Chelsea grabs another red cup and devours it. Kieghan then takes Chelsea's cup and sips the little remain she left behind, Cat turns around as a whistle can be heard. The others look to see Toby standing with a ginger man and a small Indian man. Cat turns around to take one of the red cups with her before smiling at the others and joining the others up the stairs, minutes later they notice Rachel looking around while walking up the stairs suspiciously.
Sophie McDonald: Interesting... you guys i'll be just a second.
Chelsea Williams: Don't be too long we haven't even had shots yet.
Sophie slowly but surely takes her time to the stairs and every step she takes the music becomes more silent. She passes multiple people on the stairs either crying or talking to their friend, extremely drunk. As she reaches the top of the stairs, she presses her ears against the first room she sees and hears puking in the toilet. Not there. The next two doors she hears loud noises but no voices and decides to ignore them but the middle room she can hear voices.
Muffled Rachel Poppies: Where is my money?
Muffled Smithie Evans: I don't know.
Muffled Toby Savannah: Calm down.
Sophie knocks at the door and she hears arguing about who opens the door but Cat answers with the small Indian man. Inside Sophie can see Smithie a tall but slender ginger man sitting next to a girl with the whitest hair and dairy blue eyes. With them sits on the bed Toby and standing up is Rachel. In the corner are two other frats who eye Sophie. The white-haired girl opens her mouth and speaks in the most calm voice.
Girl: Let her in she can maybe help?
Rachel Poppies: Don't act dumb Loocie, Sophie can hardly handle a finger in her chicken let alone weed deals.
Cat and the Indian man let in Sophie anyway and she takes refuge next to Toby. They both take a moment to look into each other's eyes before Smithie coughs and the silence is broken.
Rachel Poppies: So where is my $150?
Toby Savannah: We're still working on it we'll give it to you. Why do you even need it? Your parents will give it to you easily.
Rachel looks hotseated for a second but quickly snaps at Toby back.
Rachel Poppies: Nevermind about that, it was my money and I wish I never gave it to you.
Cat Montreddins: Look they said they will give it back to you I think you should chill.
Rachel looks angrily at Cat and pushes her but before Rachel could fight her, Loocie steps in between them and the Indian man pulls out a pistol.
Loocie Moonies: Adulf put it away, that's so unnecessary.
Adulf Sazas: Not until she agrees that we will give it to her as soon as possible.
Loocie looks at Rachel with a mother-to-daughter look. Sophie looks at Toby or Smithie for help to stop the standoff but they just look at the drama in awe. Sophie quietly closes her eyes and her inhaling and exhaling become echoed. Adulf's hand slowly turns around to point at his stomach.
Smithie Evans: What? Adulf don't do it!
Toby Savannah: ADULF!
Everyone starts freaking out and the two other frats leave the room to warn everyone else in a major rush. Sophie breaks from controlling Adulf and Rachel runs to Adulf but before she can stop him the bullet hits his stomach, making him fall onto the floor, the others can hear screaming and running from downstairs the music sudden stop and the distant thunder. Loocie falls onto the floor to cry and Toby swears before leaving. Cat sits back on the bed and clasps her hands together. The volume becomes mute. Rachel reaches for the gun and one more gunshot can be heard, Sophie screams as Loocie's blood sprays all over the bed, the wall and on herself. Cat clicks her fingers and Sophie's vision goes blurry again, she falls back and lands on the warm bed.
The camera regains its color as Sophie's brown eyes open and she stares right into it. The camera moves away from her revealing an infinite white room and the bed in the middle of it, on the floor lies the lifeless bodies of Adulf and Loocie. Standing between them is an elder woman wearing a funeral-black dress and behind her rests two big black wings ready to fly away.
Sophie McDonald: Am I dead?
The elder woman looking at Loocie notices Sophie, one eye remains white and one eyes remains as dark as void. As she opens her mouth to speak, two white balls escape and hover above Loocie and Adulf, she taps Loocie's head and Loocie's eyes open a huge gasp can be heard.
Loocie Moonies: Where am I? I want to go home!
Woman: I am The Angel of Death. Formerly known as Kyphi Krakze and no you are not dead she is.
Kyphi motions toward Loocie who patiently stands up while cautiously looking around before heading towards the white oblivion.
Kyphi Krakze: You are a notable Witch and the powerful witches do not easily die by the Human Bullet. This is not your destiny, for you have so much more to do before the day comes.
Adulf now has his head tapped and pulls the same faces as Loocie, confused, scared and hoping to see day again. He notices Kyphi and nods as she whispers something in Hindi, he also regains his strength and walks into the white unknown. The Angel then turns towards Sophie and walks calmly towards her.
Kyphi Krakze: When you return make sure you know who your Friends and Enemies are. There is a big dark cloud coming for the Magical World.
The Angel then gives a daring smile and taps Sophie's head, her vision leaves from the white room and back into the dark room containing the two soulless bodies of Loocie and Adulf bleeding like crazy. Smithie faint and lying on the floor like a sleeping lion, Cat having Rachel passed out but letting out a blue energy to keep her sleeping. They take a moment in looking at each other before they are suddenly within the Magical House Corridor falling from the air, Chelsea and Kieghan appear by the Professor's side along with a boy whom they have never met before. Nikos Lees comes out of the side room previously where the chicken-fingers were and helps pick up Rachel to take her to her bedroom, Cat and Sophie step up and look worried towards Llama, Kieghan and Chelsea.
Professor Llama MacCarones: Sit down everyone. We have to talk.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

Keith, a vieux riche, spoiled and cherished, heir to the Demiliore Consortium, lives his life at large. Power, Wealth, Fame; He has it all. But is it all just a dream? With a set of memories, the knowledge of the future, in a play orchestrated by the destiny, knowing well that he is born to be a Villain, will he prevail? Or is he going to fall at the hands of the Child of Destiny just like he did in the nightmare that haunts him? Author's Note: Yes, the story is heavily influenced by Urban-Fantasy Chinese Novels. Don't read if you have a problem with those types of plots. 'Cliche' plot elements are bound to appear, so if you easily get triggered by such things, keep away. And I would advise you to not even start the story if you are the ardent believer of 'Good shall prevail over the Evil'. Keep away! MC here is a Villain! But yes, he is not someone deprived of emotions, even though he is a Scum. So, do not expect an outright Evil MC either. I don't write Netorare. Don't worry about it! Warnings: > Dark Elements > Sexual Content> Traumatising Content> Gore> Manipulative MC> Parallel World (Almost a new World)> Fantasy Elements (Full-fledged Fantasy later)> System> Slavery > Contains themes that are viewed as Taboo in our world, but not in the world this story is based in.
