《HIS》T W E N T Y - F O U R

The smell of bacon drifted through the cellar, calling to Sloane. Her eyes fluttered open as she yawned and stretched. Despite the smell of breakfast being cooked, making it obvious that the only other person in the house was the chef, she whipped her head to the side to see Carter wasn't laying in his spot. The strange moment of panic began to dissipate as the fog in her brain cleared.
After a few more stretches, because it felt so good, she stood and made her way up the stairs. His back was to her as he moved from the stove to the fridge. Leaning against the door jamb, she watched.
His body was toned, but she didn't need this moment to know that. The way he moved on her…
"Good mornin'." He leaned down to kiss her and she realized that she had been staring.
"Good morning. I smelled the bacon."
He gave her a wide smile and gestured toward the table. "I figured that would wake you up since I left the door open."
The two person table wobbled a little as she lowered herself to her seat. "Um…not to be disgusting, but after breakfast, I really need…"
"Right there." Carter motioned to a paper bag that sat on the counter closest to the living room.
"Oh. How late is it?" She got up and went to the bag to see that he had gotten her an assortment of pads and tampons.
"Almost ten. I was up early and wanted you to rest."
"Thanks. I'll be right back."
A soft breeze blew past him as she ran into the bathroom. He plated their breakfast and sat it on the table before pouring coffee into two mugs. He had everything ready by the time she took her seat again.
"You spoil me." Her smile was soft as she grabbed a slice of toast and buttered it.
"And I will 'til I die." Her eyes lifted to see that he was serious before he took a large bite out of his own toast. The crunching sound took away from the mood and caused her to giggle.
"What do you plan to do today?"
"I have some orders I have to get done. I got what we needed when I went to town, so I ain't gotta worry about that."
She nodded her head as she fixed her coffee to her liking. Even though she knew the answer, she asked anyway. "Do I have to go back to the cellar?"
"Yes."
Her heart dropped a little. "Okay."
The stern look he gave her was laced with a tinge of pity. I'll let you out of there one day.

Once they finished eating, Sloane went to the cellar, ready to start her day of boredom, thankful the books awaited her.
"I'll see you later." Carter grabbed her elbow before she sat on the bed and kissed her.
For a second, she considered making their kiss passionate, but decided that the sooner he got finished with his work, the sooner he'd be back to keep her company. But maybe she could give him a little teaser.
The kiss deepened for a brief second as she let her hands travel up his chest. When they pulled apart, she kept her hands in place and saw a flicker of desire in his eyes.
"Okay." Giving him a sweet smile, she settled down and looked at the stack of books, pretending to be oblivious to the way he looked at her.
The sound of the door closing signaled the start of her day alone. It seemed that he wouldn’t be back until dinner and she hoped the books and exercising would help distract her.
Things were starting to become unclear. There was an odd desire to be near Carter and she knew that was part of the reason she hadn't left after finding that the door was unlocked, even if she kept trying to deny it.
It was almost as if the despicable and disgusting things he'd done had been a dream. Even his outburst last night was already a distant memory.
Frustrated and not wanting to think about those things, she ripped open the book she'd chosen to start with. But it took her several tries just to get through the first paragraph. After a few pages, she had somehow managed to push everything to the side and focus on the words printed on the yellowing pages before her.

Ready to be done and join Sloane, he rushed through his work with as much precision as he could. It wasn't long before he was done with the first order, a simple vase. All that was left was to package up the work and send it out.
There were still two orders he needed to get finished, but the siren in his cellar kept calling to him.
Compromising, he started the second order so that all he had left was to put on the finishing touches.
As he cleaned up his work area, his mind wandered to their night before.
It turned his stomach sour to recall the scared look she'd had when telling him that it was that special time of the month for her. And he hadn't made things much better when he'd stormed into the cellar.

The feeling of guilt for his actions still troubled him despite the fact that she had made it seem that all was forgiven, but he wouldn't do it again. He couldn't ruin what they had.
His next thoughts were of her trek to the upstairs.
Two nights in a row, she'd left the cellar to explore the house. And he knew she went outside last night. As soon as the first stair had creaked, he sat on the edge of the bed and waited. Hearing the soft click of the door scared and angered him, but he made himself stay put. Even when the door closed, he worried she had left.
But the sound of her walking around calmed him and he lay down, waiting for her to return to bed.
It was obvious that she wasn't going to leave him.
With that thought making his day, he locked up his shed and went into the house. A quick shower and then I'll make dinner.
As he undressed, his reflection caught his attention. His facial hair was turning to a scruff that he kind of liked. He decided to keep it and ask Sloane for her opinion.
After washing, he grabbed his boxer shorts and then went into the kitchen to cook.
In part of his hurry to get downstairs, he made chili cheese dogs with tater tots. With the food piled on the tray, he made his way to the cellar door. He had to admit that he was getting tired of having to balance food on one arm when he unlocked the door, not to mention the constant up and down multiple times in the day.
Sloane was curled up against the wall, her book open and covering her face.
"Enjoying it?"
"Yeah." Her quick response would have annoyed him before, but now it pleased him.
"You hungry?"
"Yeah. Just a sec." A lifted finger appeared beside the book to signal she wasn't done yet.
He laid the tray down and waited for her to find a stopping point. When she did, he handed her a plate and sat beside her.
"Ooh. I love chili cheese dogs. I haven’t had them in so long. And I'm starving."
"Same." His oversized bite emphasized his statement.
"Slow down." Her laugh was music to his ears. "Let me catch up."
He thought he was going to choke as she took a large bite. "Sure you can handle that much?"
The look she gave him was just as challenging as it was seductive. It caused a sensation to spread across his loins.
"Let me see." She had taken a sip of the sweet tea he'd brought down with the food. "Let me have that."
His plate was moved to the tray along with hers as she slid to the edge of the bed. The look on his face made her quiver in anticipation.
He allowed her to push him back, his eyes never leaving hers. His hips lifted so she could pull his boxers down.
To further entice him, she licked her lips before lowering her head to his erection.
"Oh." Without realizing what he was doing, he lifted his hips for her to take more of him into her mouth.
After finding a rhythm she was comfortable with, she sucked and bobbed her head. His moans told her that he liked what she was doing and encouraged her to continue. Switching it up some, she clamped her teeth together while sliding him to the side of her mouth. It felt awkward, but interesting and she wanted to see if he'd enjoy it.
"Sloane!" He groaned, placing a hand on her head.
At first she thought he was going to push himself further into her mouth, but he started to tangle his fingers in her hair. So she continued until she was ready to try something else.
Focusing on his head with her mouth, she added her hand to his shaft, making him squirm beneath her. Hearing the way his breathing turned to quicker and sharper pants encouraged her further.
"Oh. Oh."
She started to go faster, relishing the power she had over him at the moment.
"If you…don't want me to…uh…in your mouth…"
This excited her more and she adjusted her position, causing him to give another massive groan. Without any warning, his release hit the back of her throat, filling her mouth with a saltiness she hadn’t expected. All she’d ever known was what she’d read, but none of that had prepared her for the exaltation or power that filled her. While some of what she had read said that the taste could be bitter and harsh, she found that the saltiness of Carter was almost palatable.
"Sloane. Oh my goodness." He couldn't get control of his breathing as she wiped her mouth and then took a sip of her tea.
"You liked?" The weight of her straddling him brought him back to reality.
"You know I did." A low growl rose out of him as he gripped her hips and rolled her over, his lips crushing against hers.
