,
I can't believe it that we spent almost half a month together under the same roof, sharing the same bedroom without killing each other or running away. It's really a miracle.
As usual, when I woke up he was all ready and set to go to work and when I was ready and went down, the breakfast table was being set. When does that old grandpa even wake up, go to gym, come back again, shower and get ready? It's really is a mystery. Sadly, today we weren't having breakfast on the terrace.
###
I walked into my office as everyone around greeted me. I just nodded and shut my office door. There was a lot of work to be done. We were going to have delegates from Japan coming today.
My secretary told me my schedule. It was quite tight and I hardly had any free time which was good.
"When is the interpreter coming?" I asked him while still looking at the PC screen.
"He'll be here in an hour." He informed me.
###
Naila beta..." Mom said.
"Ji?"
"Have you seen the company before?"
"Um...yes...a few years back." I said When I went to give Daddy his tiffin. That is, before he hated me.
"Oh, then why don't you go today and see the company?" She said
My eyes widened. "Me? No...um.. it's ok." I gave a nervous smile.
"Why not?"
Because I don't want to face anyone there. Especially 2 certain someones.
"How can I?" I said meekly.
"You're are our daughter in law. You have every right to. You're the part owner of The Alam group now beta. Don't be shy. I'll tell the driver to drive u there. Also, the employees and the staff needs to know about you."
I swallowed. Part owner. It's soo scary to even think about it.
###
I'm on my way to the company. My hearts getting faster and faster as we're getting closer and closer.
Just then my eyes went on a crying little girl besides the street. She looked like a doll, soo cute and chubby. But she didn't seem to be from around here. She looked like a foreigner, an Asian. I felt a pang in my chest. Why is she crying soo much and where are her parents. It's dangerous for kids like her to be alone on the streets. People were approaching her to ask but they all seemed confused at the end.
"Please stop the car." I told the driver.
I didn't know why but I just couldn't unsee that little girl. I went to her.
"Mama, Papa...Doko ni imasu....(where are you?) Mama....." The girl was crying.
Huh? She's Japanese? That's why no one could understand her. She was lost. I felt shy and awkward among soo many people but being shy and awkward won't help the kid. So I went to her.
"Ko....do shita? (Child.... what happened?)"
I got on my knees to her height. Maybe she was relieved that someone understand her language so she quickly brought her attention to me.
She told me she was lost and got separated by her parents. She was soo scared that I couldn't leave her alone again. She clinged to my arm like a lost puppy. Taking her to the embassy or police would be too scary for her. So as I had no choice, I did a brave and stupid thing to take her with me to the company.

A kid in a company?!.....Ya Allah help!
"Watashi no musume wa doko desu ka?!"
The women was crying since she got here. I couldn't understand a word she was saying we tried to use the Google translator but she wouldn't cooperate. Even that Interpreter hadn't arrived yet. People have no sense of punctuality or seriousness to work. At least we could make out that she had lost her daughter.
We sent a search party with her picture and even informed the police about it. My secretary tried to talk to her to calm her but it was no use.
Ya Allah, please do a miracle and find her daughter and.....just stop this woman from wrecking my office and work.
As if this wasn't enough, I got the news that the slut was coming to the company. Like seriously! Why today of all days?!
###
As I walked in, as expected people gave me weird looks. I was holding a Japanese kid's hand and walking her inside a multinational company building. I felt akward already coming alone and now I felt like sinking in the ground.
Just then I saw a man frantically pacing near the reception. He was suited up.
"Is he here yet?" He asked the receptionist. She shook her head.
"Oh God! Boss is going to kill me." He was scratching his head. His eyes suddenly stopped at me and his expression changed.
"Oh, Mrs Alam. You're here, welcome. Actually, boss has a meeting with some Japanese clients. Do you mind waiti..."
He paused as he looked at the little girl.
"Ma'am, may I ask who this is?"
"Um...uh...she... actually I found this lost little girl on the way here. I thought we could help her find her parents.... I mean... she's a foreigner and she was scared and she doesn't understand our language...." I stammered soo much while speaking. Soo embarrassing.
"Onee chan(older sister).." the girl clinged to me frightened. I held her close.
"Lost kid...." His face split into a grin confusing me. Is he a weird man. I hid the girl behind me.
He sat down on his knees in front of her.
"Are... you... Mrs Sato's Daughter?"
Huh? Does he know her mother? She told me her name was Nanako Sato.
The girl came forward hearing her surname.
"Do you know her mother?" I asked.
"She's our Japanese delegate. She was here for a meeting but on the way here from her hotel room her daughter went missing."
We took little Nanako to meet her and Alhumdullilah, the little girl ran into her arms screaming Mama...Mama...
It was a beautiful mother daughter reunion that made my eyes moist.
"Arigato.... Arigato Gozaimasu(thanku soo much)". The women greatfully held my hand.
It was a shock to everyone including me when that slut came with Mrs Sato's daughter. My PA explained me the whole story. Another surprising thing was.....she could speak Japanese? How?
Our interpreter wasn't here yet and my PA suggested something really vile. To make that slut our interpreter?!
Mrs. Sato had already taken a liking to her but I couldn't let that slut interfere in our work. This office was the only place I could stay away from that bitch now I even have to work with her?!
"You should leave now, we have a meeting to go back to." I said as calmly as I can.
She nodded and looked at the Sato family. She said something in Japanese with 'Sayonara' and was leaving.
"M... ma'am wait please. Can I have a word with you first?" My secretary stopped her. What the hell is this guy doing? I've already had my quota of bearing with her today.

"Can you be our Japanese interpreter today for this meeting?"
"Huh?!" I blinked at Mr secretary.
"Please ma'am. Our interpreter bailed on me today. If I don't find an interpreter to resume the meeting, boss will fire me. Please...." He requested desperately.
If you take MY help he'll fire you anyway.
"But I don't understand this stuff. I am not even a graduate." I said.
"It's ok just translate the words they say to you and we'll handle the rest. Please ma'am you'll be my hero... you'll be my life saver.... please...."
Because of his desperate request and the puppy face he was making...what could I do?
###
We we're all sitting in the meeting room silently. Old grandpa glared first at his PA(secretary) and then at me as we sat on his either sides and the delegates sat in front of us. Was I nervous?....well, that would be an understatement. A female employee came and took little Nanako with her outside. She waved at her mother and me before leaving. Aww, she's soo adorable.....
"So, shall we begin?" Grandpa said.
The meeting was going smoothly. I began translating exactly as they were saying. I was surprised at myself as even though it's been soo long I was doing quite well. Although hearing about the money matters and everything was making my head spin.
Finally the meeting ended and the deal was finalized. We stood up to shake hands and bow as it is a Japanese tradition.
Finally, Mrs Sato said something,
"Anata mo kakkoī kappurudesu."
Oh shit! I don't want to translate that but both the men's heads turned at me. I swallowed. So akward.
She laughed. "You 2 good couple....very good looking."
Ok, now she had to speak English?! The delegates agreed with her and smiled too. Kaif and I accidentally shared an akward glance and quickly looked away embarrassed.
###
She was combing her hair in my room ...Again! I swear if I find even a single strand of hair this time.... I'll... I'll....be able to do nothing.
I sighed at my helplessness. Mom would probably kick me out instead.
Today, she was amazing though. The way she handled the delegates. We even got the contract. She has talent. But when did she learn such a tough language? When I think about it, I know nothing about this girl except for....all the rumors I've heard.
Rumors are supposed to be rumors right? Her eyes say a different story. Even that night, even just for a moment what I saw in her eyes, the sadness.....the regret. Sometimes I want to believe that she's just like me.
My PA(secretary) suggested we should appoint her as our interpreter atleast until this contract is complete. He told me about how she said she wasn't even a graduate. Does she ever feels like completing her degree? She deserves a second chance....her talent is being wasted here. But how should I even talk to her about it without hurting my pride?
"Ahem." I cleared my throat.
She ignored. What the-
"AhEm" I did a bit louder. Still ignored.
"AHeM" and I coughed too this time. Still no response. Is this bitch doing it on purpose?!
I did it louder this time leaning ahead a little.
"The water is on the side table." She said.
"Oh... right thanks." I said abruptly.
'No you idiot. You need to talk to her about the college.'
Right!
"You aren't even a graduate but you attended a MNC's high class confidential meeting? You must be happy. A nobody like you got a chance that any person with multiple degrees would die for."
Wait, that came out wrong.
"Hm, you're right. I'm a nobody. Still I'm glad I could be a help to the company where my father has been working all his life." She smiled slightly.
Damn, I should choose my words more carefully. What can I do? I just couldn't talk to her normally. I hate her. I hate women. How many times do I say the same thing btw? 🤔
I got up to use the washroom. But what he said next made me freeze
"Have you ever thought about completing your degree?"
Yes, it was my dream..... once. I gave it up when my family and friends gave up on me.
"It doesn't matter." I said not looking at him.
###
I couldn't sleep so I went to the balcony to get some fresh air. It was 2am and the breeze was cold making me shiver at times but it was..... good.
I had a dream, getting my degree and then a simple job. Then getting married to the man I love and spending my life with him and our babies. How simple and sweet would that have been?
"That's not possible anymore Naila. Forget it" I reminded myself.
"Why?"
I jumped at the voice from behind me.
"Ah! You." I sighed holding my racing heart. I almost got a minor attack.
"A dream is not something you see to forget and discard. It stays with you until you get it. You can never be at peace until you've accomplished it."
He said.
"People get greedy when they dream." I reminded.
"Why? U don't believe in yourself?."
"Nope." I simply shrugged.
He sighed shaking his head.
"Why are women so stupid?"
"Why are men soo judgemental?" I snapped.
"Because women are confusing."
"It's because men are irrational."
"At least we think with our brains."
"So what are our brains for.... U to eat?"
"Oh please, we are in no need of getting diarrhea by eating something soo rotten."
"Your brain isn't too fresh either!"
"How do you know that? Did u have a taste?"
"Did u see me getting diarrhea?"
"You....you.....are disgusting. Turning dreams into diarrhea." He made a face.
"Huh, just because you ran out of come backs." I sneered.
"That's because my brain thinks well when I'm working. Unlike you, just lazing around at home, going shopping and spa with Mom."
I gasped, anger fuming in me.... because I couldn't deny it. Ugh!
"Go back to college. Do something productive or else your brain will really rot. I'll ask my secretary to find a good college and make the necessary arrangements for your final year." He announced and turned to leave but stopped in between
"Go to sleep now. You almost look like a panda with those dark circles of yours. I would hate to share my room with a panda. Oh look, 1 more thing in the list of things I hate about you." He smiled mocking me and I scowled at him.

Apocalypse Progression
While Forrest Ward is on a black ops assignment, electricity is knocked out. His friends begin to turn on him, and not in the friendly betrayal sort of way. More like, they want to rip his chest open and steal his life force. Forrest has to assemble a new team of rookies and learn about this new world where power can be earned through fighting and killing monsters, and others. Above all, Forrest is a family man, and he will protect that family. No matter who – or what – gets in his way.
8 111Single Mother Cultivator: Determination to deny her naïve son a terrible destiny
Lucia Martinez had to fight for every little victory in her life, especially when she was responsible for raising a teenage son by herself. But when the teen gets summoned to another world by a dysfunctional martial sect as their would-be savior, she’ll have to fight harder than ever just to get him back. Brought along to a world of Eastern fantasy, Lucia finds herself face to face with obscure magical creatures, various rich cultures, and a familiar yet unique chi-based magic system that every faction has their own way of looking at. Single Mother Cultivator is as the title suggests, a Cultivation novel. Unlike other Cultivation stories, this one focuses on multiple Asian mythologies rather than just Chinese myth, and isn’t just a generic power fantasy. It explores the very nature of strength itself, and how it could and should be used. The foundational power system is the same for both major factions, with differences in their philosophies on how to pursue it. New chapters on Mon-Wed-Fri
8 204The apocalypse happened and it was named- The system’s advent
The world either ended or it began when the system came online. People can now be immortal and the laws of reality are intertwined with what the people of earth know as RPG game systems. All of this and yet it is only the begining. What is in store for humanity when everything they thought was just smoke and mirrors turns out to be as real as they are and far more deadly. One man went back in time because of an event that shouldn't be possible to a place he had forgotten. For him it was a chance at redemption for a life he is ashamed of. It was a chance to make things right with the people he couldn't face before it was too late to say sorry. A changed man will attempt to defy logic that he doesn't even realize exists. He tried to be the dashing rogue and failed, he tried for the overbearing shield bearer and was worse than useless, he tried to be the rightous paladin and not even the dark gods would accept him. The only path left was the 'weakest' of them all. Ok so alot of you probably reading this are people who have read my previous works and I can only say 'thank you for your incredible patience' so much before it gets awkward but for those you who don't know this is my third story and no I haven't dropped the other two it's just that tragedy struck when I was writing them and I haven't been able to get my motivation for them back yet so I'm trying this as essentially a jump start to get back into the fight so to speak. I'm really hopefull that I can pull this story off the way I want it to be but only time will tell so here's to hoping, now let's get this show started.
8 112Reincarnation of a Dedicated Loser
Hard working smart kid with the determination of a lion suffers his entire life and gives up, but in his last moments he shows his strong will to fight once again. Unfortunately its too late for his life to change. But not to late for a second chance. With his dedication he resolves to never be weak or powerless and decides to live a good life, in a new world of powerful magic and adventurures, with great beasts and challenges ahead.
