《Always (Steve Harrington X Reader)》Chapter 009

Steve and I wait with the kids while the others talk to Will. We all sit around, worried that our place won't work.
Steve swings his bat around in the living room, Lucas and Max sit against the wall in the hallway, Nancy stands against the wall of the kitchen, and Dustin and I pace the house.
After a while, the others walk through the door. Hopper grabs a pen and paper and looks up at the Morse code sign on the wall.
"What happened?" Dustin asks.
Hopper sighs, "I think he's talking, just not with words."
Hopper starts by writing four dots. He pauses. Writes one dot. Pauses. One dot a dash and then a dot. Pause. Dot.
"What is that?" Steve questions.
"Morse code," The boys and I answer I unison.
"H-E-R-E." Hopper reads, "Here. Will's still in there. He's talking to us," Hopper, Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, and Mike all back inside the shed.
I sit down next to Dustin. Both of us have a piece of paper. He writes down the code and gives me a letter.
An hour later I look down at the finished product:
C-L-O-S-E-G-A-T-E
The other four in the room surround me, "Close gate." We all say in sync.
The phone rings causing us to jump. Dustin and I run over and he hangs up the phone. We all let out a sigh of relief look, but then it rings again.
Dustin goes to hang it up again, I grab the phone and rip it off of the wall and throw it down he hallway.
"Do you think he heard that?" Max asks.
Steve shakes his head, "It's just a phone. It could be anywhere. Right?"
The Demo-dogs screech in he distance signalling they know where we are.

"That's not good," Dustin mumbles.
The others in the shed bring a sedated Will inside.
The kids look out the windows trying to see the Demo-dogs. While the rest of us find weapons of some sort.
"Hey. Hey, get away from the window! Hopper yells. The kids jump back and he turns to Jonathan. He holds one of the guns out, "Do you know how to use this?"
"What?"
"Can you use this?" Hopper questions.
"I can," Nancy steps forward and takes the gun.
Steve pushes me behind him and I push Dustin behind me. We all look at the window and doors, waiting.
"Where are they?" Max asks from behind Lucas.
Something bangs against the door and we all turn towards it.
"What are they doing?" I murmur.
I grab on to Dustin's hand and he grips it tightly.
One of the Demo-dogs snarl and we all turn back toward it's direction. It screeches loudly, but then it stops abruptly.
I look up at Steve and something crashes through the window. Everyone besides Hopper scream and scramble back.
The Demo-dog doesn't move.
"Is it dead?" I pant, trying to catch my breath.
Hopper nudges it with his foot and it remains still, "Yeah."
Something bangs against the door and we all turn back to face it. Everyone re-raises their weapons. The deadbolt unlocks and the chain comes undone.
The door creaks open and a person I thought I'd never see again walks through.
Eleven.

OUTLIERS
30 years ago brought the first superhumans, regular people given great power seemingly at random. 15 years ago brought the paranormals, stranger and often weaker in their abilities, but far more numerous. Today, the world holds its breath . . . Or at least, it should. Most people, though, are just trying to get on with their lives; some successfully, some less so. It's a sensible goal, but it can be hard when shadowy conspiracies and worldwide N.G.O.s are turning your city into a proxy battleground over world-shattering secrets. It’s bad enough when you’ve just woken up with superpowers and terrorists are holding your school hostage. It’s even worse if you’re an illegal vigilante stuck in the middle of the whole Charlie Foxtrot after a supervillain raid drops vital information in your lap. For Hannah Eiling-Kingsford and Flint Perez, life is about to get a lot harder to get on with. ----- Outliers is a superhero story. Okay, so not so much superhero as vaguely superhero-ish. It's about two teenagers dealing with, among other things, new powers, psycho exes, mysterious datapads and a giant, secret war between the foremost powers-that-be, over information that could forever change the world. Again. You know, normal teenage stuff. Outliers contains some foul language and mild sexual references. It is a complete story, and can also be read on its own website. If you enjoy the story, please consider writing a review, either here or on WebFictionGuide, or just drop a vote for it on Topwebfiction. Any and all support is appreciated, and comments, questions and critiques are all expected and encouraged.

The Strangers
Brian Jeffries wakes up in a bed that is not his own, in a room dimly lit, surrounded by a large group of others just like him. This group of twenty-five finds themselves teleported to the land of Exandria, a world of swords and magic, of elves and orcs, of dungeons and dragons. A strange old man informs them that they are the newest members of the Adventurer's Guild, a group that takes contracts all around the world for gold and glory. For these normal humans the choice is simple: Serve or be executed. The captives are split into parties and sent out on their first jobs. Follow Brian and his newfound allies as they learn to become professional adventurers, complete contracts for the Guild, and maybe find a way home. To honor the source material's Dungeons and Dragons roots, I will be rolling dice throughout the development of this story. Everyone has a character sheet. From combat encounters to social interactions, everything that can be rolled will be rolled. See how a natural 1 can turn the tide of a battle, how a successful intimidation check can subvert a fight, or how deception can reveal critical info. No one is safe and anything can happen when you put your fate in your hands, take a chance, roll the dice. A Critical Role Fanfiction

He has two ways to move forward in life- to find a new job, or to hope that he can make enough money playing Final Escape to feed his meager, human body. He has rolled randomly, as only a fool would do, and finds himself playing a Kobold magus who wields the power of life itself. Hopefully, his role-playing is entertaining enough to generate revenue, because the game is changing his real self... or else, his real self is changing the human-shaped shell he used to wear.
