《Unstable (L x Reader)》Chapter Six: Interogated

The car stopped back at the hotel and I crawled out of the car and entered the building. Once I got inside there was a cake on the table and I just saw L eating a slice of it very slowly. "Im back." I announced entering through the door. L patted down a chair at the table signaling me to sit down next to him. I approached the table and he pushed the cake towards me. "Want a slice?" "What kind of cake is it? I have not had cake in a very long time." "That's a horrible way to let a person live. But the cake is vanilla with strawberries inside." "I'll have a small slice, my favorite kind of cake is chocolate." That last bit was random on my part, but then as L swiftly cut through the spongy vanilla goodness he pushed a plate with a piece of cake on it towards me and gave it to me. I grabbed a fork from the middle of the table and dug into my cake. "Can I ask you a question?" "What would that be?""Why were you sent to the hospital? Because when I read through your file it did not tell me much about you, just that you're smart, a few months younger than me, and that they never knew when they would let you out." "Well I was taken there since I lashed out, I have issues with my emotions, to say the least." "Well what did you do?" "I told you I lashed out, is that enough for you!" L jumped back a bit and I stormed off to another area of the house, building, room, whatever this little place was. I sat down on a couch somewhere and grumbled to myself. "He went too far.." I kept thinking to myself. I then heard footsteps on the floor. I turned around and I saw L looking down at me. "Are you alright?" "Im fine." "I'm sorry if I asked too many questions, forcive habit." "No, no, it was all me, I'm sorry. You just should have picked someone else." "Excuse me? You're saying I should have picked someone more smart to join the task force?" "No, I did not say that. But you should have left me to rot in my padded cell for the rest of my days." My eyes started to water, I hated when they did that, crying was my least favorite part of my range of emotions. Then I heard L's feet approach the couch as he sat down, in his bird-like position. He had his thumb to his mouth, he was biting his nail and I just watched him. Then I felt this odd emotion sweep over me, though I'm not sure which one, and I just then switched sides I was laying on and I set my head on his arm. I felt him flinch and then all that energy I used today made me very tired so I fell asleep on his arm.

(name)'s head got heavy and fell on my arm, I flinched since her acting like this surprised me. Then I could feel her heartbeat slow down and she started breathing easy. She had fallen asleep. She looked so peaceful. I had seen more of her today. But the questions still lingered in my head about her. Like what did she do to get herself in a mental hospital for 13 years? What caused her to lash out? And where are her parents? Because she never talks about her family at all. But then again, not everyone is very open about their family and they usually have good reasons for it. So I called over Watari. When he stopped on my side and saw (name) sleeping on me he was a bit shocked. "Do you need me to move her sir?" "No no, she's fine. I just need you to pull up her police file, I'm trying to figure out who her parents are. Oh! And see if you can find any family pictures of them." "Yes sir." Then with that Watari slipped away in the dark and over to his laptop. I looked over again and saw (name), still sleeping. Then not too long after Watari came back holding his laptop and using it on my lap. I scrolled through all the things he found and there was barely anything on her family. Her mom was an average citizen and had her at a normal age, but then after she was sent away she disappeared and left the country. Her father on the other hand, there was not a single thing on him. Justreports of neighbors saying he was a figment of the mothers imagination. I mean I could only assume that since there were no pictures of him with the family at all and he just had a name. Tsugama, that's what the wife called him. Then as I kept reading there was a news report, not a very big one, where (name), as a school kid, lashed out at a student in the classroom during a lesson and broke one of their bones. With what she has told me and what I just read I could only assume that she was just a girl with anger issues but that was not the case since she went from angry to nothing to sad to asleep in a matter of seconds. And when I finished looking through the laptop I looked over and (name) was now hugging my leg. I thought it was very cute, but these feelings I kept feeling for her were very strange to me. Maybe I felt something for her..? But I must not let my emotions cloud my judgement, I must find and take down Kira first before I settle down in any way.

Arnar the Dungeon
Arnar is a dungeon core. Everybody knows dungeons are evil, man-eating entities hell-bent on killing and absorbing whatever wanders inside their depths. The problem is no one ever told him that. Now it is too late. He has a perfect plan to become the best dungeon on the continent and nothing will stand in his way. Especially something called common sense. Disclaimer of sorts: I am non-native English writer that used to write mostly for himself. After my last computer decided to die on me taking all my works with it I lost the desire to write for quite a long time. This is my attempt to go find motivation to write again as this was my favourite hobby. The idea is to be held accountable. As for being non-native, I don't believe that should be a major issue as I feel my proficiency in English to be sufficient enough to not be too much of the distraction. That said, be forewarned that the rules governing punctuation are beyond my grasp. All I can do is try not to completely suck at that. As mentioned this is an attempt to motivate me to write again so any message, encouragement or constructive criticism will go long way. The cover was created with the help of http://fantasynamegenerators.com/emblem-creator.php I hope you will enjoy my story.

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
