《Unstable》Chapter 5

Shinsou's hand was soft despite being covered in scars. His arms were also covered in scars.
The first time I noticed them was when he asked me to get him another shirt. He had ran out and forgot to ask the nurse to do his laundry. Then I saw them when he wasn't wearing a shirt. I winced the first time I saw all his scars. It hurt looking at each one. Imagining how each one had its reason and how maybe some were accidents not self inflicted.
Should I ask him about them. No that's a bad idea. But I want to know. UGH. I can't just ask Hitoshi. I kept looking at his scars. I caressed his hand. He moved a bit in his sleep. I squeezed his hand in response.
I was also feeling tired. I slowly let go of Hitoshi's hand. I looked over to make sure he was ok. He looked peaceful. I was tired but not tired enough to sleep. I walked to the door and looked back one last time. He was definitely asleep. I closed the door behind me and left the room. I walked back to the dayroom.
Everyone was integrating the noob except for Shouto who just sat there blankly staring at the television.
AAAAAAAHHHHH. To many people. I can't keep up. To many fucking people. I was being swarmed by all of unit six except for the guy with a scar over his eye. They all didn't ask questions at the same time but their was just to many of them.
"Hey Izuku got a nickname," asked Uraraka.
"No."
"Then we should give him one," suggested Kamanari.
"DEKU," yelled Katsuki.
Everyone turned around to see him yell at me. He looked pissed. Somewhat concerned but mostly angry. Was he upset with me? Did I do something wrong earlier? I'm dead the scariest looking guy in the unit is mad at me. He walked up to the circle around me.

"Hitoshi is resting so don't fucking bother him got it," he said angrily.
"Umm y-yeah ok," I said looking down. I was to scared to look him.
Katsuki then went to go sit down and watch TV. He asked for the remote. Surprised they don't have it in the unit.
"Deku," said Uraraka,"I like it. What do you guys think? What do you think Izuku?"
"I like it too," said Jirou. Momo nodded to agree.
"Deku sounds ok I'll go by Deku from now on."
"Tch. How stupid making an insult your nickname. How dumb are you," said Katsuki.
"Shut it Blasty."
We all looked over to Shouto. So he does talk. He had just insulted my scary roommate. That was a ballsy move. Katsuki didn't do anything. He just glared at him and called him a half n' half bastard. Shouto just rolled his eyes at him. They both went back to staring at the TV.
I looked outside the window in our unit. There were older looking patients down in a patio. They were smoking and one woman was crouched on the floor rocking back and forth. She looked beyond broken. Oh God am I that messed up? What the fuck am I doing here. There was a mental health worker down there with them.
"That's the adult unit,"said Mina.
"They're allow to smoke?"
"Yeah," she sighed,"which is so fucking unfair. Like I want my weed! I need my shit too!"
"Do we get to go outside?"
"Not that I know,"she said,"I haven't been outside since I got here."
"That sucks."
"I know," she groaned.
I stared out the window for a bit longer. It was really cold and the window was the only warm thing in the whole room. I leaned up agaisnt it. Mina went to sit at the table. She got out a deck of cards. They were really nice. The cards were pink instead of blue. Even the face cards and jokers were pink. She set them out.

"Any one wanna play," she asked.
"Sure,"said Kirishima.
"What are we playing,"asked Uraraka.
"What do you guy wanna play," said Mina.
Jirou looked at Momo. She was definitely looking down at her chest.
"How about flash poker," she said smiling at Momo. The other girl turned red.
"Oh hell yeah," shouted Mina.
"Hey Deku ya know how to play," she shouted at me.
"No."
"Then I'll teach ya."
"I would strongly advise against this,"said Iida,"incase you all have forgetten there are cameras in here."
"Calm down Iida we've played before it'll be fine."
"Very well but I will not be apart of this and I won't be the look out again."
"Hey Sho," yelled Kirishima,"could you be the look out?"
Shouto turned his head in our direction. He noded and went back to looking at the TV.
Mina motioned for me to come closer. Iida left the room most likely to go back to his room. Almost the entire unit was playing even Katsuki. Mina started shuffling cards. She was setting them up too. She handed us each two cards and placed five cards facing up on the table.
"Ok the rules are simple,"she said.
Just then a tall figure walked into the room with a menatl health worker. He was tall, blond and muscular. He wore a suit and had papers in his hand.
"Can you guys please clean up it's time for group," said Midnight.
"Yes,"said the tall man,"for I am here."

Shizuka
A/N: I'm actually writing two stories at once, this and another story on ScribbleHub. I have decided to put Shizuka on hiatus due to some RL issues but my story on ScribbleHub will continue since I'm co-writing it with a friend which is easier. Please do check it out on ScribbleHub. Series name is Walking in Shadows. Four Heroes were summoned from earth to combat an evil threat in Evarenan but there was a fifth person, Hirano Shizuka. She was never meant to be summoned. It was purely coincidental and unintentional. The God who acted as the intermediatery for the summon, has shunned her. Fated to live a harsh life in a foreign world. Abaddon, a Goddess, the Empress of Night, took pity upon Shizuka. Fascinated by the strength of her will and soul, and fond of her humble and accepting character, the Goddess offered Shizuka to be her Champion which Shizuka accepted. A month passed after the arrival of the Heroes and a plus one at Evarenan, the real trials and nightmares of this world had only just begun for our offworlders, especially Shizuka. AN: Shizuka is the sequel to Overture of an Odyssey, which takes place after the events of the latter.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
