Chapter 19.
Cyn had left Travis she made her way back to Calvin's apartment, she saw his truck parked in the yard so she knew that he was home, she'd just hoped that he understands what she had to do. Cyn walked up the stairs and made her way to the door, she knocked lightly waiting to be answered.
"Who's it?" She heard him ask.
"Me." In the matter of seconds the door flew open as she felt her body being yanked inside and he slammed the door behind her locking it up.
"Where you been!" He asked raising his voice and by the look on his face Cyn could've told that he had been worrying.
"I had had to do somethin'....save somebody's life rather than my own." She said mumbling the last piece of her statement as she watched Calvin body relaxed.
"If you wanna go somewhere at least inform me, Rodney's got his lil bitches hot out on the streets." He said sitting down as she saw Calia holding onto the table to keep her balance while playing with the objects.
She strolled her way over to the couch as she flopped down and threw her head backwards feeling Calvin's gaze on her.
"Calvin?"
"Mmh."
"Your actually goin' against your friend for me?" She asked squinting her eyes as he let out a chuckle.
"Rodney ain't nobody friend Cyn. Just like his intentions were to ruin you from the day he set eyes on you."
Cyn was learning each day, her mind was taunted by the ruthless things that she'd encountered. She didn't want Calvin to be apart of something like this, she knew that this was her fault and she knew that she wanted to deal with this alone, whether she makes it out a whole or in a body bag.
"It's my mess and I'm gone clean it up alone." She stated as he looked at Cyn as if she was insane.
"You crazy if you think I'm 'bout to let you leave this damn house by yourself Cyn." He said making his words final.
"It don't make no sense you gettin' yourself into harms way cause of me, you've done enough and I appreciate that Calvin, but I-"
"I don't care Cyn, right now we're both in too deep to be thinking 'bout what you could do on your own. I know how Rodney works and I know what his bitch ass is capable of, if it was anyone who knew Rodney better than himself its me." He said keeping the mug on his face....
He was right about that.
mornings later, Cyn was in Calvin's front room watching television as he was in the bathroom bathing, Calia was still sleeping and that gave him time to do him. Right now Cyn felt as if she was suffocating as her chest got tighter, all she could ever think of right now was being over and done with, for all sakes she just wanted out. She watched as Calvin came out to the living room with Calia who was now fully awake and dressed.
"Come on." Cyn stood to her feet and turned off the television and picked up the diaper bag Calvin had packed earlier.

He let her walk out of the apartment first and locked it up as she waited on him, they walked down the stairs and he alarmed the truck as Cyn walked over to the passenger side. He opened the back door putting Calia in the back seat of the truck. He got inside and jammed the key inside of the ignition starting it up and reversing out of his parking space now onto the streets.
"You alright?" He asked as Cyn nodded.
"I guess so....." She spoke looking out of the trucks tinted window.
"You don't look so...." He said taking a quick glance at her. Cyn wasn't alright; neither was she okay.
"I'm just-"
"Scared, I know. But don't let that get to you Cyn..."
They didn't exchange any words for the rest of the ride, they soon pulled up to a little yellow and white house on a corner lot.
"I'll be back." He got out opening the back door and unlatching the seat belt off of Calia and grabbing her diaper bag, he picked her up and closed the door behind him, she watched him walk on the porch and knocked on the door. A few minutes later it opened, he didn't go inside, she saw as he kissed Calia on her forehead and gave her to the female as a few words were exchanged and the door closed.
He came in the truck and sighed deeply.
"Everything alright?" Cyn asked.
"Yea." He started the truck and sped off. Cyn could've told that his mind was deeply on his little girl and right now she was getting in the way of things.
If he doesn't gets to see his daughter again Cyn thought that it'll be because of her, she couldn't live with knowing that she was the cause of him and his daughters relationship and she couldn't have died with it on her chest either...
naked body was pressed close up underneath Calvin as his light snores tickled the nape of her neck while the rain beat against the window pain. Last night was pure heat and he made her forget everything that she was about to face.
She looked around the dark room feeling so empty inside, she didn't even know if she had planned what she had to do right. Time was running out and she couldn't hide nothing any longer, all that mattered right now was her getting her shit together. Cyn started to shift as she tried to remove her bare body from underneath him but he was just too heavy.
"Where you goin'?" He groaned with his eyes still closed.
"To the bathroom." She felt him roll off of her as she sat up looking down at him, he had his arm over his forehead and she smiled at the sight.
Cyn walked to the bathroom and stood over the sink looking in the mirror, her eyes were dull and she had bags underneath them. She turned on the faucet and splashed some water over her face trying to get a good wake.
Cyn looked at herself once more before walking out of the bathroom and back to the room, when she got there she saw that Calvin wasn't there. Cyn walked to the living room area and walked over to the couch, she sat down and crossed her legs staring at the blank television.

Calvin was right; it was too late to be thinking about backing down and she was way in too deep to try and get out now. Realisation had hit her hard.
Cyn looked over at the stand staring down the telephone. She knew she shouldn't be thinking what she was but it was her mess and she was about to handle it.
Cyn reached over for the phone and punched in the numbers, she held it to her ear as she waited for an answer.
"Hello?" Cyn heard him answered
"Hello..."
"Cyn..." She heard Rodney chuckled through the phone as she rolled my eyes.
"Rodney......I-I wanna end this."
"You know ain't nun' over unless I say it." He laughed.
"What do you want Rodney?" She asked getting straight to the point.
"You know damn well what the fuck I want, don't play dumb Cyn, I know how you go."
"Rodney why don't you just leave me be.....if it's your damn shit you want back I'll give it to you, j-just leave me alone." She said rubbing her hand over her face.
"You think after all I did for you I'm gone let shit walk out the door like that?" He asked rhetorically.
"Rodney bye y-"
"Hold up."
"What Rodney?"
"You betta's watch that mouth of yours..."
"Nigga bye."
"Wait....I'll leave Calvin out it..." She hushed at the mention of his name.
"And the little girl too..."
"What're you talkin' about?" She asked.
"Don't play dumb with me Cyn, I know damn well Calvin got you hiding 'round there some place." He said angrily.
"But like I say, you come and see me tonight, we sort out shit and I don't bother you neither your bitch made nigga..."
"What do you want from me?" She asked as the phone went quiet.
"I just want you baby..." Cyn sighed and cast her pride away.
"Where at?"
After he gave her directions she immediately hung up before anything else was said. Cyn didn't know what she was up for, knowing the kind of nigga Rodney was; any goes.
on that night Cyn's mind was still wrapped around the thought that Calvin and Cali could get hurt because of her. She sat motionless in the tub of water with her legs pulled into her chest as Calvin sat on the perimeter rubbing the shampoo through her hair probably seeing that she made no attempt.
"Somethin' bothering you?" He asked and she shook her head 'no'.
"You sure?" He asked and she nodded. His fingers were messaging her scalp gently and honestly it was mesmerizing but still yet comforting.
"I wanna thank you for all your doin'." She mumbled out of the blue.
"Ain't I tell you don't mention it?" He asked with his brow raised as she shrugged.
"I guess I can't really thank you enough. No body ever made an effort to do somethin' like this for me." Cyn felt his hand slide under her chin raisin' her head up.
"It don't matter who did shit for you Cyn, all that's in the past, and only thing you could do now is move forward...." He said removing his hand.
"You right." She mumbled and for some reason he always was.
"I know Cyn. You got fucked up real bad, but nobody's better than you, your unique. But you can't let shit like this make the decisions for you...." He said as she shook her head.
"No, times already gone and ain't shit bout me unique Calvin."
"Yes there is..." He said washing the suds out of her air.
"What?" She mumbled waiting to hear as she heard him sight.
"Your whole names unique baby girl, how many times you go out and hear people get called 'Cyntana'?"
Not having an answer to his question she figured he was right. Again.
"What does that mean anyway?" He asked.
"I don't know, I guess you can say that my parents had a big ass imagination." Cyn said as he chuckled.
And that's what she loved about Calvin, he made her feel like she mattered, like she's needed. He understands her and that's all she could've ever asked for in someone. When she was done Cyn dried her body off, brushed her teeth and was headed to bed.
"Goodnight Cyn." He said as she felt his lips pressed towards her forehead.
"Goodnight Calvin..." She felt as he pulled her body into his chest as he rest his head and was soon asleep and it wasn't very long before Cyn did the same.
eyes fluttered open as her eyes scanned the dark room seeing the only light which was from the clock, she squinted her eyes seeing that it was about three in the a.m.
For some reason Cyn couldn't sleep and her deeds were getting the best of her, guilt was eating her alive and all she could do was stare at the ceiling, Cyn looked over at Calvin who was still asleep and saw that even though he was at rest he was still a bit bothered.
Cyn carefully removed the covers off of her and softly placed her feet on the ground. She was sure not to wake him up, Cyn crept towards the drawer opening it and pulling out a black tights with a black hoodie and a pair of socks, she walked to the closet and pick out the pair of air max and walked to the bureau carefully opening it, Cyn dug under the clothes finding one of Calvin's guns, she looked back at Calvin who began to stir in his sleep seeing that he was at comfort again. Cyn proceeded in walking to the bathroom in the hallway.
She quickly started to throw on her clothes, right now she wasn't trying to think for one minute of something that'll make her back out, she was trying to stay focus on what she really came to do, Cyn knew that it was wrong of her not to tell Calvin nothing but she didn't want him involved in the shit she made.
Cyn had some shit in stored for Rodney's ass and he better believe that she wasn't scared of confrontation....
