《Trapped Soul (Completed)》Chapter 20: Set it Off

Cyn stood in the front of the warehouse on 39th street where cars never bothered to pass by; after all nothin' was even out here, the only light that were gleaming were the few street lights.
Rodney was smart and knew what he was doing but little Cyn didn't know was that Rodney already had everything mapped out.
She walked towards the fence open in the gate and walking towards the seeing the garage door, rolling it up and walking inside, she was greeted by a huge empty area. She was confused for one but confide against it.
She pulled the gun what she had taken from out of Calvin's from behind her back and held it her side, Cyn looked around at the peeled chipped walls that covered the hallways, her head snapped left then right watching her back, knowin' Rodney everything he did was unpredictable.
She started making steps down the hall where she figured Rodney was situated, all she wished for at the moment was for Calvin to still be asleep but right now she thought that he already knew that she had left. She didn't want Calia growing up without a daddy, then the world's just gonna have another her, she feared that one stupid move tonight could've made a drastic change. She had enough shit on her plate and she wasn't greedy enough to take on another.
A lot of shit swarmed her mind, she was 'bout to face Rodney and get this shit over with, she see him, she get shit set straight and she leaves Oakland.....completely. Hopefully she'd make it out if he don't try no funny shit and he just might make tonight right here her resting place but like she always said what ever happens; happens.
She was now placed in a situation where anything was likely to happen whether she walked out of here as a free man or maybe even worst.....a body bag.
From the start she was wrong, Rodney never cared neither was he one to fuck with, but she fooled herself thinking that he actually had a soft spot for her.
Which was impossible...
She approached the big iron door but to her dismay it was already open. Her mind drifted else where as she squinted her eyes and watched the shit played out before them, she was insecure but if it was one thing Cyn wasn't, it was stupid.
She inched herself slowly towards the door, the light beamed through the crack so it was obvious that more than likely Rodney's little sick ass was playing some game.
She pushed the door open slightly and walked in looking around seeing that the room was vacant.
She was confused...
Cyn heard the door behind her slam as her heart and body took a leap all at once, she spun around quickly seeing Caesar standing there with his brow raised.
"Where's Rodney?" She asked swallowing the big lump in her throat.
"Your scary ass came....You had more balls than I thought." He chuckled.
"I asked a fuckin' question." Cyn pin pointed.
"Relax your ass, he's comin'." He huffed as Cyn watched him walk through the the door where the hall was.
Rodney soon came into view wearing a white wife beater that was blood stained. Cyn shut her eyes and tried to control her breath steadily as it all came flowing back.
"You've seen it before....Let's not forget your ass did it too y-"
"What the fuck you want Rodney?" She said cutting him short.
He wiped his blood dripping hands on his shirt and she felt her face screwing up.

"You..." He said with his brow raised.
"You real good at that, makin' me feel like you care when you really don't, try some new shit maybe it'll work." She hissed.
"I beat your ass, made sure you had bread and gave your ass money....And I don't care...." He chuckled. "Y'all Oakland bitches really are ungrateful." He said stepping to her.
"Look I really didn't came for all that shit now why the fuck you want me here Rodney and stop bitchin' bout what you holdin' onto alright." He looked at her and shook his head.
"Where you been stayin' at Cyn?" He asked in a hush manner.
"What?"
"I said where the fuck you been stayin' at?" He said a bit louder than before.
"With a friend...."
"You mean my friend...." He said walkin' closer to Cyn.
"W-What are you talking about?" She asked stepping back.
"I know you were at Calvin's Cyn, and that's alright, sharing is caring." He smiled showing off his teeth. Cyn's face held a look of disgust as she inched away from him.
"You're crazy Rodney...."
"I thought you'd of done figure that out by now baby."
"Just leave him out of this."
"As much as I'd love too I can't...Without him none of this wouldn't have even been accomplished." Cyn looked at Rodney confused on where he was getting at.
"Aye bro!" She heard him shout and looked towards the hallway door.
She heard the footsteps coming and with each she was eager to know what Rodney sick ass was doin'....her heart began to ache as her chest tightened, her mind took on several spins before actually portraying the vision that was actually in the front of her, Calvin was now standing beside Rodney with a brown paper bag in his hand...
"Calvin..." She said in a mere whisper, his face held no emotion and he was looking down at her as if she was trash, but the emotions she was now holding died down because she knew that Rodney had everything in the palm of his hands. She just asked herself the one question, 'how couldn't I have seen it coming?'
She blamed herself self? Yea...she was one foolish girl to actually think that Calvin was any different from Rodney. They were one, and she was fool to think that either of them; that grew together actually gave some fucks.
"Are you serious Calvin..." She watched as Caesar came from the back with the joint in his mouth as he sat down on the chair smiling.
"You should've known you could've never gotten between a nigga and his brother." Caesar laughed.
"B-brother?" Cyn coughed in disbelief, Calvin looked at Cyn then looked away.
"I thought you were a smart girl Cyn, thought that you would've gotten the straight shit by now. Remember this?" He said taking the paper from Calvin and holdin' it up, Cyn looked at it confusingly, memories flooded back as she felt her vision began to blur.
"Travis....." She whispered as her eyes widened and he burst into laughter.
"What the fuck did you do Rodney!" She yelled furiously.
"I did what I was suppose to do bitch, now let me tell you what your ass here for." He said rushing up on her and gripping her underneath her chin roughly.
"Yo' Tj said he's out side..." Calvin said hanging up his phone and avoiding eye contact with Cyn.

"Aight." He nodded to Calvin then turn towards Cyn.
"That night Cyn, you left my place open, they took some shit, some shit that don't belong to me and I'm not 'bout to get my throat slit for some low life hoe i-"
"So what you gone sell me?" She asked tryin' to sound bold.
"Nah bitch I'm gone sell the fuck outta' you." He said shoving her and takin' the gun as Calvin gripped both of her arms and started to drag her down the hall.
"Let me go!" She yelled, she realized that she was being dragged down the hallway where her encounter with Manny had happened.
"Calvin stop!" She shouted tryin' to break away.
"Relax your ass alright!" He said opening the room door.
She walked in not wanting to make nothing's of it, the chair stood in the middle of the floor but it contained blood...fresh blood.
She looked at Calvin who was looking anywhere but at her, he felt shameful but he knew that it was always death before dishonor and he had a child to live for, Cyn sighed relaxing looking around the dark room and then finally facing Calvin.
"Where is he?" She asked hesitantly.
"What?" Calvin responded confusingly.
"T-Travis....Where is he?"
"I don't think you'd wanna se-"
"When ever did you care about what I see, you were pretending to care-remember, don't switch up." She rolled her eyes.
"He over there in the corner." He said gesturing his hand further in the darker corner.
Cyn eyes traveled towards the dark corner where she saw the blood stained white air Force sticking out from the dark. It was almost impossible to notice. She knew it was him though, her hand flew over her mouth as she shut her eyes down tightly not wanting to endure this anymore.
Travis her best friend; who had always knew how to take the pain away was now gone, she knew it was her fault all of this was she thought. He was now gone due to some stupid shit she had caused, and all she could get at right now was how she was gonna get Rodney for all the pain he had caused.
"Hey!" She heard Calvin yell as her eyes snapped open looking at him, he was angry but his eyes still held something else.
"Why are you doin' this Calvin?" She asked.
"It's the game Cyn."
"The game....You got me fucked up for this Calvin, the only friend I ever had is dead just so you and your sick ass of a brother can enjoy your game?" She shook her head.
"Calvin I needed you...I trusted you and I wanted you, and......" She paused.
"You do this." She whispered at fault.
"It just comes to show." He said turning a cold shoulder.
She shook her head and wiped the tears away from her eyes. Her heart clenched as the tears burned her cheek, Travis was all she had....now he's gone.
Two can play at this game. She though to herself.
"You know, I though Calia had someone to be proud of or thankful for....guess I was wrong..."
"Don't bring my kid into this." He said gripping her arm and pulling her towards him.
"Fuck off Calvin!" She yelled yanking her arm as he looked at her as if she had grown two heads.
She heard his phone beeped off and he took it out of his pocket lookin' at it and sliding it back into his pocket.
"Come on." He spoke.
"What?"
"Come on!" He said a bit louder ringing her ear.
Cyn stepped out of the room before him and she heard the door close as she continued to stay ahead. Cyn heard talking coming from the main room and she knew that she had heard Rodney's voice.
When she walked into the room there were five of them standing before one another, including Rodney and Caesar. The talking had stopped as all eyes were now set on her. The strange faces looked her up and down before someone started to talk.
"So what's in it for me?" The guy whom was TJ asked.
"Her." Rodney said gesturing to Cyn as they looked at him as if he was crazy, which in he was.
"You think I want some bitch in exchange for my products, what use is she?" He asked as Cyn raised her brow feeling slightly offended.
"She's the cost of them shit goin' to waste. Just take her alright, pimp her, sell her over, fuck her do some shit." Rodney said.
He looked at me and immediately his face screwed up.
"Nigga I want my shit..." He said stepping to Rodney.
"I said I don't got it, take the bitch and go, I'm tryin' to make pe-" The nigga pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at Rodney as he stood still and shut his mouth.
"I said I want my shit, I don't need no bitch alright, all I'm asking is for you to get my shit, simple. You said you wanted to come on some type of agreement and I'm tryin' to see if we could get that, but you still the same fucked up nigga from then..." He said as his face was now turning red with anger.
"Aight." Rodney said swallowing hard. They all watched as Rodney walked around the desk and sat down in chair and stared back at the guy.
"You want your shit... I'ma give it to you..." Before anyone really comprehended on what was going on Rodney had already shot down one of Tj's goons, bullets started to fly as Cyn stood in the midst of it not sure what to do, before she knew it she felt her body being yanked on and she had fell to the floor, Calvin was looking her straight in the face.
"Here..." He said handing her a gun.
"What the fuck am I supposed to do with that?" She asked out of fear.
"Take the shit alright." Taking it, Cyn looked up to see one of the unknown men body lying on the floor lifeless. She gulped and noticed that Rodney had ran to the other side of the room.
She watched closely as Caesar got up and tried to run across the room but before he made it a bullet flew from their side hitting him in his back, she looked beside her seeing Calvin staring at Caesars body, Calvin didn't felt any remorse he just wanted to make things right.
"You killin' your friend now..." Cyn whispered.
"I have to make sure you straight first..." He spoke as she rolled her eyes.
"Bullshit Calvin."
"I had to Cyn, at least until I figured how to get you out of this shit."
"Right, you couldn't have just tell me."
"If I did it wouldn't have turn out like this, probably worst."
"Whatever." She watched as he dug in his pocket and pulled out a strip of paper and car keys.
"Here." He said with hint of sympathy, and right now of this moment Cyn knew it was real.
"What?"
"Take the keys it's my car keys, just go... I'll take care of the rest." He spoke looking at her sincerely.
"N-No Calvin bullshit I c-"
"Take the shit alright!" He said a bit louder than intended causing a bullet to fly in their direction almost hitting Cyn in the arm.
"Shit..." She hissed holding her arm.
"Lemme see..." He looked at it but it was only a graze.
"It's nothin'." She said clutching her arm.
She grabbed the keys and took the paper sliding it into her pocket and saw as Calvin propped himself up on his knees.
"What the fuck are you doin' Calvin."
"Kiss Calia for me alright..." Before Cyn could've done anything else, she watched as he stood up with the gun in his hand and walked to the middle of the hallow room.
"Rodney give him his shit." She heard Calvin say....
She watched as Tj slowly stood to his feet and then the other man, Rodney was no where to be found and Cyn was debating on whether she should get up or not.
They all looked around confusingly waiting for Rodney to get up but he never did.
She watched as Rodney came out of the blue giving TJ a shot to the forehead exiting the back, the other guy that came with TJ turned towards Rodney with his gun, but before he could've gotten to him he was shot in the chest by Calvin.
Cyn was confused, if Calvin would kill for Rodney what would he do to her?
It was only Calvin and Rodney besides Cyn who was hiding behind the desk.
"You only had to have been my brother." Rodney chuckled walking over to Calvin throwing his gun on the ground.
Calvin held the gun up to Rodney as Rodney's smile start to fade and he looked at Calvin confusingly.
"Brother?" Rodney questioned as Calvin stood there straight faced.
"You ain't no good for nobody Rod, you only destruction to yourself and more to society." Calvin took the gun off of safety,
Bang!
Rodney's eyes were wide open as for the first time years they held some emotion, his chest clench as tears build up around the brim of his eyes, shock would've been any others reactions, but anger and hurt were Rodney's at the moment.
Calvin's limp body dropped to the ground back-on letting go of the gun, Caesar sat up huffing and spat out the blood that he had collected in his mouth.
"Nooooo!" Cyn let out a piercing scream getting up and running over to Calvin's body. She looked at him with tears streaming down her face as she shook her head, the snot was draining down her nose as Calvin laid there lifeless with a bullet wound to the back of his head.
"No. No." She cried.
"Calvin get up, baby please...." She begged but he didn't budge.
"Calvin baby come on, Calia's waiting." She cried above a mere whisper.
"Calvin please stop playing...." She said as the hot tears were now streaming down her face.
Rodney took the gun in which his brother was once holding, and held it up to Caesar and letting a bullet catch him in the head reclaiming him dead for sure.
Cyn looked up at Rodney who was holding the gun in his hand, Rodney looked like the walking dead, with no emotions of such he stared down at his little brother's corpses with only pain and ache clenching his cold heart.
"I don't care Rodney....Do it, kill me, I don't give a fuck anymore!" She cried rocking Calvin's lifeless body in her arms.
"Do it! Fuck it Rodney do it already!" She cried.
Rodney took the Caliber 47 and pointed it at Cyn, believe it or not she was ready, this earth had nothing for her, she had no one. And she just wanted to escape this torture some how, she had been through a lot and pain no one could've ever endure, she did what some could've never done, but she was tired of it, fed up more like. She squeezed her eyes together tightly waiting for her brains to be blown out and so said so done......
Bang!
Cyn heard the shot being fired but felt nothing, she opened her eyes slowly and saw that Rodney was no longer standing in the front of her, instead, he was stretched out on the ground with a bullet wound under his chin. She let out another cry in heart ache, Rodney was never the best to her, but she knew that the little he did was of good will.
All is gone....
She remembered her fathers words and it was so, the pain and the hurt was no longer there...All was truly gone.

The Long and Exciting Life of Kreet the Kobold (Life 2)
Kreet was originally a D&D character. Life 1 was essentially her backstory. Life 2 picks up just after the events of the D&D campaign in the Underdark. At first you won't recognize the characters, but bear with it for a couple chapters and the few important points will be revealed. Also I stole a player's character (with his permission!) in the form of Sigmundurr. Also, unlike Life 1, I'll be posting this slowly over time. Right now I'm writing around chapter 20 and I suspect I'm only halfway. Tone may be a little different. ( Cover art by KuroNeko I'm pretty sure!)
