'Good night Austin. I really hope this turns out not to be true. I already miss you,' she wrote back.

'It's not true Jolie and whoever made up this lie is gonna be sorry.'

Jolie finally fell asleep after tossing and turning for hours and when she woke up Sunday morning she didn't feel very well. She had a headache from all the stress of the day before and lack of sleep.

"Knock, knock," her Mom said, standing at the door with a plate of fruit and a cup of orange juice.

"Hey Mom," she said softly.

"What do you say, we have a lazy day inside and have a Twilight movie marathon just like the old days?" she asked, handing her the fruit and juice.

"That would be nice. You always know how to cheer me up," she smiled weakly, taking the food from her.

She heard a noise next door and looked out the window and saw Austin get in his Mom's car in black dress pants and a button up shirt, leaving for church. He looked so handsome.

She missed him so much. She wished they could hurry up and find out if it was true or not so she could move on one way or another. Not knowing if Austin betrayed her or if he was really the victim of someone's lies was torture.

Her Mom appeared back in the doorway holding a Twilight boxed DVD set with all the movies and she pulled out the first one and popped it into the DVD player.

"Robert Pattinson is so cute!" her Mom gushed, looking at the picture on the box.

'Not as cute as Austin,' Jolie thought in her head.

Her Mom climbed in the bed next to her and they curled up with a blanket and started the first movie. About half way through there was a knock at the door and her Mom jumped up and answered it. A minute later she called upstairs. "Jolie you have a visitor!"

She wondered who in the world it could be and walked over to the top of the stairs and saw Ryan by the front door wearing jeans and a tight long sleeve black shirt.

"Hey Ryan. I'll be down in a few minutes!" she called down before going to the bathroom to brush her teeth and change out of her pajamas into jeans and a t-shirt. She brushed her hair and put it up in a ponytail and put on her glasses before finally heading downstairs. She didn't have the energy or the desire to look cute today, especially not for Ryan.

"Hey Jolie," he said as she reached the bottom of the stairs. "I talked to Austin and he told me what happened so I wanted to come by and see how you were."

"Honestly? Not great," she said sadly.

He gave her a sympathetic look and asked, "Would you come with me somewhere so we could talk?"

She thought this over. The last time she had gone to Chicago with him and Austin she had gotten some weird vibes but he is Austin's best friend so she figured maybe she could get some info about Austin out of him.

"Ummm. Sure. Let me just tell my Mom where we're going. Mom!" she called and her Mom came out from the kitchen. "Mom this is Ryan. Ryan this is my Mom Stacy."

Her Mom shook his hand and smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you," she said.

"We're going out for a little bit so I'll take a rain check on the Twilight movie marathon if that's OK with you?"

"That's fine honey. We'll do it some other time."

She followed Ryan outside and there was his Audi R8 sitting in her driveway. She still couldn't get over how beautiful his car was and she wasn't even a car person. She slid into the tan leather passenger seat and buckled up looking over at Ryan who gave her a sympathetic half-smile like you would give someone you feel sorry for.

He started up the car and it rumbled before they headed down the street.

"So how are you Jolie?" he asked, looking over at her with a concerned look.

She exhaled and looked down at her hands. "Honestly I've been better. I'm so confused about everything. After I got that text message I just don't know what or who to believe."

"Ok look. I'm his best friend and I've always got his back but if Austin's been behind that website this whole time and he's really been playing all of us just to win that money and make himself look good, that's really messed up."

"Ryan has he honestly not told you that he's running the website? He said you guys tell each other everything?"

"He honestly hasn't told me. I promise. I would tell you if he had because I think it's pretty messed up," he said, looking over at Jolie and he seemed sincere. "Hey, I wanna take you somewhere to cheer you up. Did you eat yet?"

"No" she answered.

"Ok I'm taking you to lunch then," he said smiling and a short while later they pulled up outside the country club and Ryan parked and then went around to open Jolie's door. He put his hand on her back to guide her inside. When they got into the restaurant Ryan walked up to an older man and said, " Hey Dad. I didn't know you would be here."

"Hey son! I got called in for an unexpected board meeting ........ and who is this lovely young lady you have with you there?" he asked.

"Dad this is my friend Jolie. Jolie this is my Dad, Mason Gentry. He's on the board of the country club here."

Mason Gentry looked to be in his late 40's and was a very handsome blonde man with hazel eyes just like his son and he was wearing a blue button up polo shirt with khakis and golf shoes. He looked like the typical type of person you would see at a posh country club. Jolie shook his hand and smiled.

"So Jolie's just your friend son? I didn't know you were capable of being just friends with a girl," he laughed and his friend Jerry that was standing next to him laughed with him.

"Well there's a first time for everything," Ryan said with a half-hearted smile and then added. "We're gonna go. I'll see you later Dad and Jerry I want a rematch on the new golf course. You just got lucky last time."

"I never get lucky. This is all skill. I didn't get on the PGA tour for nothing," he laughed.

"Then how did a high school boy almost beat you if you're so good?" he asked with a cocky smirk.

"Have you ever thought maybe I was trying to let you win to make your Dad happy but you sucked so bad I still won?" he laughed. "Your Dad does pay my salary."

"Sure, sure," Ryan laughed, shaking his head. "C'mon Jolie. Follow me," he said.

They went to the other side of the country club to a little cafe that had outdoor seating on a balcony overlooking the lake. Jolie ordered some grilled chicken with steamed broccoli and Ryan got a seafood sampler with lobster, shrimp and scallops.

Jolie looked at the menu and saw that Ryan's meal cost $150 and she felt like that was ridiculous. Even though she grew up in a really wealthy family her Dad had taught her not to waste money on stupid things that didn't make sense and splurge on quality for the important things so they'll last a long time.

"So does your family come here a lot then since your Dad's on the board?" she asked.

"Yeah. My Mom's probably around here somewhere. Probably getting a private tennis lesson with the tennis pro, Mitch. She seems to like him an awful lot here lately, especially when Dad is gone for a long time on one of his business trips to California," Ryan said with a hint of bitterness.

"Hmmm. Sounds a little bit like my family. My Dad's the top defense attorney in New York and he would spend way too many hours at the office and he ended up having an affair with his secretary. That's how we ended up moving here, because my Mom found out and wanted to come back to her hometown to be close to her family."

"Oh wow. I'm sorry about that Jolie. I know it's hard when your family splits up. I think my Mom honestly just sticks around because of my Dad's money but she's not happy at all. I can tell. Do you still talk to your Dad?"

"Barely. I just called him and we sort of patched things up a little bit. He's going to help me figure out who's behind this website and get it taken down. He has a lot of powerful connections so if anyone can get it done, he can.

"Really? Sounds like my Dad. He has a lot of powerful connections too and can get things done."

She was surprised how similar his family sounded to hers. She realized they had more in common than she had thought.
