《Perfect Wish》Chapter 9

After my failure at the bath, I dressed and went to find Sora. She was in the bedroom looking out of the window.

"Sora."

She turned to me. "What is it, master?"

"What do you want to do now?"

"I don't know. This is the first day of my life. What should I be doing?"

'Yeah, its her first day. I never even once thought about the implications of this. I only thought they are beings with only one reason to exist. To serve me. But that's not the case. They have their own wants. So what should I do?'

I took a deep breath and said "Sora, lets get out."

She looked surprised "Where are we going master?"

"I don't know but we will find out once we are outside. We should get you a proper mask too, so we can deal with it while we are at it."

When I mentioned her mask, she looked downcast for a second but it passed quickly. "Yes master."

"Sora. I don't want you to call me master."

She froze for a second. Then she said "But you are my master. What should I call you if not that."

"Call me by my name, Ash."

"Yes Ash."

I chuckled. "You can always say okay. Just talk to me casually."

sigh "Okay."

I beamed at her. "Lets get out."

When we were out, I started to think about where to go, but in the end I had no idea where is what. So I needed to find someone to give me directions. Since I knew one person here other then master, I started to lead us to clothes shop, which is the first place I got in this world. When we were at the door, I stopped and turned to Sora. "Sora, don't show your face to her okay? I will tell her you are sensitive about your looks so you try to play the part too."

"Fine."

Then we got inside and there she was, sitting on the same chair when I came here more then three months ago. She got up when she saw us. I waved to her. "Hello, Alice how are you?"

She looked at me once, frowned and suddenly her face lit up. She waved me back with a smile. "Aren't you the little kid that got lost that day?"

sigh "No that was someone else. I am the one you tried to flirt."

She frowned again. "No, I done no such thing. Oh." She chuckled. "You didn't like me to talk like that in front of your friend. Sorry about that. Your name was Ash right?" I nodded. "So, tell me Ash. Did you get in?" 'What? Did she expected that me and master.. No. She must be asking that.'

"Yes, I managed to take apprenticeship. I was there, working since that day."

She nodded once "I thought she would never teach, not after her.." She whispered but I heard clearly. I wonder who she is. "So how is it going. Did she started to teach you?"

"Yes, she thought me how to forge nails and katana."

She smiled. "I am happy for you. So why did you come here?"

"I will ask directions again but first I need a mask. I don't know where to go though, so I came here to ask."

"Hmm. Why didn't you ask your teacher then? She should know more places then I."

"She is out for her job right now." Alice nodded once. "Since you are the only other person I talked here, I came here to ask you."

"Well then. Tell me, what do you need?"

I pointed at Sora. "My friend here, Sora, has a problem with her face and she needs to hide it from others. To that end, we need a mask for her."

Alice looked up a bit while frowning, then got behind the counter and took something out. It was white completely, with only two hole for eyes. Behind the mask was some kind of cloth which I quickly deduced that would be the side you bind it to your head. "Here, this wooden mask belonged to my niece, this should be enough." She gave the mask to me and I gave it to Sora. She took it, turned her back to us and changed my shirt with it. Then she turned back. "Sora, how is it?Are you comfortable."

She put her hand on the mask that now on her face, moved her hand up and down slowly but mask didn't move, seemingly merged with her face. "I think its good."

"Thanks Alice. So, how much do I need to pay you for this?"

"Nothing, really, I am just happy to help." I smiled at her. "So, where do you want to go?"

"I don't really know. What people do around here to have fun?"

"This is a small town. There is only one place people have fun in which, you are too small to go. So there is nothing for you I am afraid."

I looked at Sora but couldn't see anything different. If this news affected her in any way, I am not skilled enough to see it. "Well then. At least we found a mask for Sora." I turned to Sora. "Hey. Lets get back to shop. It seems we need to make our own fun." Sora nodded to me once.

Sora then turned to Alice and said "Thank you for the mask miss. Have a good day."

"No problem dear. Take care." Then I waved to Alice and she waved back to me. Just when I was about to get out, I thought about something. Turned back to Alice "Alice. Where can I find paper?"

"Paper? Hmm. There is a general store, they should have it." She then proceeded to give me directions. Store wasn't far. I think we managed to go there in about a minute. I took a dozen big paper for a rather hefty price."

When we returned home, I gave Sora a katana and showed her what to do. She quickly started swinging the sword. I watched her a little, making sure she doesn't deviate from the technique I showed her, which she didn't. Then I made my way to the forge room and started carving wood. I visualized what I am going to do, then started carving. When I was done, there was still time for dusk.

I took all the pieces in my hand, and made my way to do masters desk. While I am passing the hall, I saw Sora still swinging the katana I gave her. I put carved pieces down and took the paper I bought. I took a quill on my hand and very carefully started drawing. When I am done with it, I placed the carved pieces on the paper and called for Sora.

"What is it? Did something happen?"

"No no, nothing happened. I just invited you here so we can have some fun." Then I pointed her to the paper. "Do you know what this is?"

"No, Ash I don't know. What is it?"

"This is a game called chess." I showed her the stool I normally use. "Sit down, I will teach you how to play it." She nodded and sat down. Then I started explaining the rules to her, then we started playing. She played well considering the fact that this was her first time but still, I won quickly. After that, I explained everything to her about what happened and how, during the game. We played a few more games, we must have played a lot since it was evening when we stopped.

"Ash, this is enough. Its fun but I feel tired, so I am going to bed."

I nodded once and something came to my mind. "Sora wait. Did you get any skill today?" She nodded and suddenly there were screens in front of me.

Skill Acquired Acting 1/100

Correction when Acting 1%

Skill Acquired Basic Sword Mastery 3/100

Improves accuracy with swords by .6%

Skill Acquired Basic Chess Mastery 3/100

Gives a chance to make the most optimal move, regardless of other factors by .15%

"Okay, that skill has potential."

Quickly I looked at my own screen and sure enough, I got the Basic Chess Mastery skill too. I thought about what I can do with it for a while but in the end I came to conclusion that it was near useless to me. I shrugged. I snuff the light, went to bed and snuggled to Sora who pushed me away.

"I told you. You can only touch my feet tonight."

"Okay, but I can't sleep when there isn't anyone hugging me."

"Master, we both know it is a lie, so don't bother."

sigh "Fine." I turned my back to her. And let the sleep take me.

In the morning after we woke up, I washed my hands and face then started preparing the food. When it was nearly done, Sora came in and looked at the table with apparent wonder in her eyes. Seeing Sora like that I couldn't help but chuckle. "Sora come, lets sit down and eat."

She nodded. "Okay." I took a fork in my hand and she mirrored me. 'Doesn't she know how to eat?'

"Sora? What is wrong, why don't you eat?"

She looked at my face, then table and pointed at the cheese. "Mast- Ash, what is it?"

"Its called cheese." She pointed a fruit on the table next. "Well, I don't know what fruit is that but its really sweet. Come on try it out." She started to try every food on the table after asking what it is, which I wasn't helping much with. The reason I don't know about the food I eat is because I don't care about their name. I only care that it tastes good, and that it didn't come from somewhere odd like an animals anus. Other than that.. I don't care.

After we ate breakfast, we parted ways. I started forging katana and she started swinging the sword I gave her. About the katana I make, even though master said it will take some time before they sell for good money, I am starting to think otherwise. Now, I don't have any reference point other then katanas made by Master but still, the ones I made was coming out to be higher and higher quality. I quenched the sword with a hiss and put it aside. Then looked out of the window. An improvement I made other then quality of my katanas is that how fast I make them. You might think it is because my Smithing Speed Skill but its more to do with the fact that I gained a lot of experience forging and my Forge Hammering Skill. This Skill has came out to be very beneficial. Knowing this came from master, I silently wow to make her happier then ever, when she came back. What? No, it has nothing to do with my own happiness. I know, I am awesome like that.

When I am done with the blade I went to check out what Sora does. When I reached where she was I couldn't believe my eyes. Sora was on the floor humping at something, with a pool of transparent fluid on her feet. She looked at me, then with a surprising speed tackled me and then-

"Master!" I jumped at the voice. Looked at Sora but she was dressed and there was no hint of the pool I saw at her feet. 'Did I just? Wow. I hope master come here fast, or I feel like I will penetrate something I shouldn't.'

"Hmm. What happened?"

"You were staring at nothing and drooling. At first I ignored you but had to intervene when your breathing became too fast. So tell me, what were you thinking?"

'No I can't tell her what it was. She might beat me.' "Hmm. What? What was I thinking? Oh! Look at the time! I got to go. See you!" I ran away.

After I finished handle, I made my way to the bedroom to read one of my books. Even though levels I got reading lowered a lot, it still works so I continue to do it. 'I think I forgot something again but what was it. It was about Sora... Aha! She needs new clothes which will be designed by me! I headed for the door but changed my direction to bathroom and pilfered the 'rod' just in case. I hid it in a good place and continued my way towards the door. "Sora, I am going out. You continue working. " She just nodded at me and continued to swing.

I got out the door and quickly made my way to the clothes shop. I got in and saw Alice cutting some clothes carefully with her shears. While I wait for her to take notice of me, I started looking around. There were all kinds of clothes. It was like all cultures of Earth were here. After I looked around a few more minutes, Alice finally noticed me and stopped working.

"Welcome Ash, how are you? Did you need something?"

"Thanks. I am looking clothes for my friend. The one I bought the mask for."

"Why didn't she come? I need her measurements."

"It will be a surprise and don't worry, I know all of her measurements."

She looked at me blankly. "How do you know?" I smirked. "Okay, I don't want to know. So tell me, what kind of clothes do you need?"

"She is a sword fighter so she needs clothes that easy to move in. And since she is self conscious about her body, they need to cover all her body."

"What about color?"

"It should be mostly black but other than that, some red would be good."

"Okay, give me the measurements so I will look at what I can do." I gave her the measurements. After all measurements are given, she said. "You said she is self conscious right? But with a body like this.. It is odd." She looked at me I just shrugged. "Okay is there anything else?"

"Actually there are a few modifications I want you to make." I started telling her what I wanted. Small touches here and there, tight here, loose there. When I came to my real objective she became red as tomato. She looked at me carefully.

"Does she know about this?" She looked at me seriously, though since her face still flushed it was hard to think her that way.

I knew to act carefully though since she might beat me if she thinks I am taking advantage of Sora, or worse, she might refuse to make the clothes I want! So I held my hands up and said "She will learn. I told you, this is a surprise for her. If you want to be sure, you can come at the shop and ask her what she thinks I am to her."

She looked at me and nodded reluctantly. "How many of these do you need?"

"I really don't know, but she doesn't have any clothes. For now, make it two and in the mean time, I need clothes for her, to be used while sword training."

She looked at me suspiciously. "Do you want any modifications for those clothes?"

"No, nothing really. Just they need to be easy to wear and wash."

"Okay. I will ready your order. I will deliver them to the shop myself." I nodded once and waved at her but she just looked at the side. 'Odd. Oh well, at least she will make the clothes.' I quickly made my way to the shop and continued reading books.
