A single drop of water dripped down the petal of an anemone into its vase. I stared at the flowers from my bed while the sun lazily crested the horizon. The light dispersed as it hit the window and reflected the soft white of the dress in my closet.

He asked me if I wanted to go to the mall with Him and Her.

The three of us ambled through the walkways, gazing longingly at the storefront at things none of us could buy. She told a joke and He laughed. It wasn’t that funny.

He seemed captured by Her, barely looking at me.
