《I am a Spy》I smelled it and got queasy

Leblon, Rio de Janeiro
As promised - well, sort of - Vini came back to the beauty salon. Sure, he didn't exactly mention that he was going to bring Suzane with him, he didn't even mention that he was going to be back at all, but almost an hour and a half later, Enzo walked out of the salon. Even for a cover-up, this was a bit of a stretch.
- You are such an idiot. - Vini said to Enzo.
- What? Look at these french nails, what a cute little thing.
- French nails? What the fuck is this?
- Must be the acetone playing with my head. I smelled it and got queasy.
- Sarah, this is Suzane.
Enzo had even forgotten the purpose of their presence at the club. It certainly wasn't to get a free day at the spa, but as it turned out, the fee came out of Vini's wallet, thanks to Enzo's lack of shame in paying for it himself. Still, as said several times so far, could be worse.
- Do I know you from somewhere? - Suzane repeated the same question she had asked Vini.
Uh-oh. How would Enzo respond?
- We met at the reception earlier today. I complimented your Jag.
- Sorry, I don't remember.
- It's been a few hours, relax. And I also have post-traumatic stress from breathing in the smell of those ball-smells fingernails.
- Sarah, shut up. - Vini complained.
But he had to admit it moments later.
- Great, way to go ahead with the cover-up.
- Why is that? Did it almost go south with you?
- Suzane said I was a familiar face. I had to answer that people mistake me for Thalía.
Enzo began to laugh uncontrollably.
- What? You? Who's the crazy dumbshit fool who would say something like that? You'd have to die, have plastic surgery and then be born again to look like Thalía. The cartels there will cut your balls off just for saying such a monstrosity.

- How could I have plastic surgery when I'm already dead?
- Don't argue with my logic, woman!
It was only after a few seconds that Enzo and Vini realized that Suzanne was following the discussion between the two morons. She was somewhat curious and completely intrigued.
- You two look like sisters, so much alike.
It proves that the make-up of the European sisters worked properly.
- Diane is a year younger.
- And smarter. And I don't make a big effort.
Suzane was enjoying the endless bickering over absolutely nothing between the two of them. Oh, if only she knew that the bickering was a constant.
- So, what do you do?
- We go to high school... - Enzo was answering.
- A long way from Barra da Tijuca. - Vini interrupted and gave Enzo a nudge. - Copacabana.
- But Diane said that you live in Barra da Tijuca. It's quite a distance, especially during rush hour.
- We are thinking about getting out, you're so right.
- If you wish, my son goes to an excellent school in the neighborhood.
- Do you also live nearby?
- Yes, in a nice condominium.
When Suzanne looked at her watch, she was astonished at the time. She needed to return home as soon as possible. Her son Pacifier wouldn't get a ride, but the hard-working mother needed to keep up appearances, at least that's what Vini had in mind. She thanked them for their time and offered an invitation.
- Would you two like to come home for dinner?
Enzo stared at Vini.
- That's cool.
- 20:00. Wednesday.
- Wednesday is soccer day...
Vini elbowed Enzo in the ribs.
- She says we'll be there Wednesday.
- If you want, my chauffeur can pick you up in Copacabana.

- Sure. - Vini had no reply.
- You'll have to record the game for me, then. - Enzo replied, annoyed.
- Stop whining.
In the end, the two said goodbye to Suzane, who left alone in her beautiful Jag. Without a ride, the couple had to wait for the condominium bus to come and pick them up.
- When's the next bus? - Enzo asked.
- In about an hour.
Enzo looked to the side and, mostly, to the blue sky, without a single cloud to hold back the unbearable summer sun at that time.
- Holy crap.
