《Zoomchard: A Journey of War》CHP 4: Misunderstood

After the bloody battle that lasted twenty-four hours, Sadunju soldiers that remained alive were kept as prisoners of war as they all stood in a long file against a wall and the heads were counted up approximately to 1,003 from the original size of this regiment being 345,765 — only 10,654 escaped the attack and are now left scurried in Eithrem territory.
Zoomchard checked his rounds and saw no bullets were left after he unloaded all of them onto the operation; so he hung the assault rifle on his back and placed the two pistols in his holsters on the side of his hips while he wandered around, looking at all of the soldiers that stayed alive through the duration of the battle and recognise only a few thousands were wounded in the war but a more lot lost their lives.
"How does it feel?" Derton approached Zoomchard from behind and asked with a smile.
"What do you mean?" Zoomchard assessed the question with clarification as he glanced at Derton walking by his side and then glanced back at the soldiers walking around in groups.
"Winning a battle, of course." Menos joined the conversation, revealing herself from the left as she walked on the same rhythm as Zoomchard's walking, glistening her smile at Zoomchard who looked appalled by Menos's sight.
"Definitely a new chapter, I suppose," Zoomchard answered nervously like a kid as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Almost like Zoomchard was already part of the family a long time ago." Zenhu chuckled to the right next to Derton, waving his hand at Zoomchard who looks tight-lipped as he suspiciously questions the environment, spinning his head around to see Hent, Ghus and Feren following behind with a smirk while Anatolfia and Pacho walked in the corner of the right.
"Ey, a rebellious child." Hent cackled.
"Certified genius, you are." Ghus jokes, punching Hent in the shoulder.
"Oh! Now I see it." Feren exclaimed in shock, receiving a modest nudge by Hent.
"Idiot." Hent insulted playfully.
"Agreed." Ghus snickered.
"He's not rebellious. He's not used to older robots being friendly around him." Anatolfia excused.
"Rebellious? With traits of an assassin, he probably doesn't trust us that strongly." Pacho reasoned, inserting his thumb up into the air directed at Zoomchard who had the expression of a thunderstruck idiot.

Belthrissa and her sisters weren't spotted anywhere near the group hanging around Zoomchard nor the eerie knights portrayed in Zoomchard's perspective. Except for one knight that stealthily followed behind afar to avoid scepticism and being caught, and when Zoomchard got close to figuring out where the knight was — the knight would disappear into a vigorous crowd to avoid detection. Derton enlightened the group on sticking around the captured territory nearby and to report immediately if anyone spots suspicion lurking from a distance where Eithrem soldiers would be spotted. He also said that if he calls for a meeting, everyone should be there no matter what they are doing.
Most of the soldiers that attacked this Sadunju stronghold instantly rushed back into the battlefield as they fought near a town and a village to push back fleeing Sadunju soldiers deeper into Eithrem territory as some Eithrem were heard deployed into the village and town districts. Their battle was heard a mile away as bullets echoed into the clouds as orange fumes dispersed into the sky followed by a flashy detonation. But, a small majority rested in Sadunju's main stronghold to regenerate stamina and get some rest after fighting for twenty-four hours, while some had it rough and had to remain here because they were harmed in battle.
"We've captured thirteen villages of the five left and captured eight towns of the two left and are currently getting closer on Eithrem's turf." A rough female voice clarified through a radio box seated on a two feet metallic hedge of a crumbled wall and Derton's walkie-talkie as Zoomchard, along with the group, walked past.
"Understood. Wait with the current territories you've captured for now. We don't need to rush in and get pushed out again; battle tanks are coming your way." A blocky white robot male said with a squared head responded to the call on his walkie-talkie as he stood by the radio on the hedge.
"Battle tanks?" Zoomchard accidentally sprouted out.
"You haven't seen battle tanks yet? You're missing out." Feren replied, showing betrayal in his eyes as he wimped behind Zoomchard to personally annoy him.
"Shut up. I'm just an infantry private who is deployed in trench warfare like this." Zoomchard snapped back, glaring at Feren who grinned back in response.
"That's true in your case. You have only been under my command for seven months now, quite possibly your longest enrollment. So you probably have never been enrolled as a main infantry private and kept the trench warfare infantry private title." Derton continued on the subject.

"All this infantry jazz, I'm glad I was accepted under Derton's special regiment eight years back." Zenhu sighed, scratching his forehead in confusion.
"Oh yeah, talking about your regiment, sir. What happened to the twenty others that haven't been in contact for three years?" Ghus questioned, taking large steps to get closer to Derton to hear the full detail.
"They're still part of my regiment. They are just fighting for their nation at the moment as the twenty nations alone are facing trouble from Allon's alliance." Derton explained sincerely.
"Allon and its shitty dogs. Always hated them nations; everything about them screamed untrustworthy — and guess what? They betrayed us two hundred years ago when they were part of our alliance back then." Hent sneered in resentment. Clenching his fist then punched his chest multiple times, worrying Zoomchard as his eyes widened in turmoil.
"Unloyal bastards. United with Eithrem's alliance for six years then fucked them over. At least there's some morale in their deranged mind." Pacho puffed, pulling down on his beard aggressively.
"Now now, enough with politics and more about enjoying the moment." Menos graciously pleaded with worry as she shook her hands sideways while looking behind her to look at the robots that are now frustrated.
"Yes, boys. Enough with that, we need to enjoy our moment." Anatolfia agreed with Menos, patting Pacho's shoulders to calm him down a little.
Ultimately, the group dispersed and Zoomchard made his way over to a small market recently built by the soldiers that had jars of green truitz and cyan truitz. Zoomchard went over to the Green Truitz Market, on the left of the lined market in half, and ordered two jars to gulp down all of the truitz while being gawked at for his extraordinary genetic illness. As he enjoyed his quiet moment, sitting on the edge of a window connected to a building that was left intact and was a building built by Sadunju soldiers west of the trench facing the battlefield that divided the factions. He was approached by a particular someone.
"Uh, I wanted to apologise." Belthrissa weakly whimpered as she addressed herself from out of nowhere. She was fidgeting with her arms as she moved her left hand up and down on her other hand as she avoided eye contact; Zoomchard felt the sincere apology and handed Belthrissa a spare jar of truitz.
"Was there something you were supposed to apologise for?' Zoomchard asked with a complicated feeling.
"You know, me saying your genetic illness was a curse and all that," Belthrissa recalled, still staying weak on the eye contact as she felt dominated by a bigger foe, denying the truitz jar with a shake of her head.
"Ohh, I didn't hurt you, did I? I was in a blinding rage when I smacked you across the face." Zoomchard quarrelled, jumping on his feet to near himself towards Belthirssa who still had a weak aura even though Zoomchard was worried if he bruised her or not.
"It stung a little, but I deserved it for putting all the blame on others for my bad mood that day," Belthrissa disclosed, strengthening her eye contact with Zoomchard more as she started feeling relaxed and not overpowered with apprehension.
"Eh, we all have bad days," Zoomchard said in an unconcerned, carefree attitude.
"You are one of the luckiest robots alive. Nobody ever lays a hand on Belthrissa, who has an instinct of fast reaction." Chuckled the purple robot identical to Belthrissa rolled in onto the left.
"Shut up, Belthune," Belthirssa urged as she grimaced at Belthune coldly, extracting her shoulders to load a punch that was interrupted.
"That smack made me a fan." The pink identical robot glimmered radiantly, hovering her hand over Belthrissa's fist, then with swift movements, pulled Belthrissa away from Belthune who was smirking at Belthrissa's anger management leaking out into the wild.
"Not you as well, Belanna…" Belthrissa whined embarrassingly.
Zoomchard eventually couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing hysterically, promptly annoying Belthrissa who seemed to have taken back her apology and proceeded to punch Zoomchard if it wasn't for Belanna holding her back.
Looks like Zoomchard felt the bizarre group gradually grow on him without him noticing it at full hand.

The original version of the first book was published on RR in 2019 and has since seen multiple revisions based on reader feedback with this one as the final and official fourth version before the second book. While the entire series story has undergone major changes in the last year, all books have been planned since the beginning of writing. It is also my second wish to eventually make this story into a webcomic, either by myself or with a team if possible. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and enjoy reading! ( You can alternatively read books in the series as standalone fictions, but they connect to one another though a running theme and mystery that evolves and progresses with the main character. ) Alternate Blurb for the Singularity Cycle series: Essairyn had never felt truly alive on Earth. It felt like something was missing ever since she was born, but even after nearly 20 years of mundane living, she could never pinpoint what this or the emptiness in her heart was. Suddenly, she awakens in a grandiose, primordial forest and encounters mythical creatures beyond her restless imagination in a parallel world called Sol'h'meyr. She befriends, in particular, a sassy fox-spirit named Akari who reincarnated after three millennia. Essairyn is gifted with abnormal magic, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Finding new friends along a path riddled with tragedy, Essairyn must learn who to trust as deceit and betrayal lie behind kindly faces. Life in this deceptively promising world slowly spirals down a path of no return. This is not a game, but cruel reality. Her simple adventure became the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tore even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought they were. And not even the fickle gods could change the time-worn destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
