Chapter 14
The new group
When Leofin had heard the sound, he suddenly took his sword and hit where the voice came from, but Obora just moved from there.
He just grinned and said, “It works all the time, no arch-magic can put a stop to green magic.”
Amnophia took her bow and pointed it towards the orc, but he just put his hands up and said, “I am here to help you, not to fight you. It was I who save you.”
“Why?” asked Leofin.
“To direct you, we need a new group of fighters, we have been in the dark for a long time and will, but just listen. You need to find Remuka to find the Dark Knight, and she is in this very forest. Now move.”
Remuka had been walking for days, having eaten her food, eating fruits. She tried to force her magic out but couldn’t. She just tried to think of the new powers but couldn’t. She tried to force the trees to bend was not in a spite at all successful.
She was just walking, just walking in the hope someone will come to her and say it was a joke and she can enjoy n her palace again. She just walked by and by and found animals circling around from here to there. She was just tires when she fell down and sat there.
She again after some time began to walk. From the morning she had not eaten anything, because the ration given to her was just for a night.
She saw a beautiful women standing in between surrounded by many animals. She was just circling herself around, singing a song. Remuka was taken in the melody and she advanced towards that lady, who was wearing blue and was fair as the moon and hair dark as the darkness. her dress was attached to her skin that nothing could be told of whether it was her second skin or not. The trees sang a melodious beat and branched swayed with the movements of the lady.
By the time Remuka approached that lady, she moved her hand and a wooden sear appeared before both and she sat and motioned Remuka to do the same.
Remuka who was dumbstruck by these sights said, “I thought we were supposed to cut these trees to make chairs.”
“They are living parts of the trees, not any cut off parts.”
“So we doo-dads can also do these kinds of things.”
“Yes, doo-dads can do these kinds of things, but I am not a doo-dad and neither are you, yet.”
“So what are you?”
“Well, usually people ask who am I rather that what am I. Anyway answers that I usually give to both are that I am the Charmlettros.”
“Never heard of it.”
“Never had I send a word of it.”
“Then how could you control those animals and plants.”
“I did not control them, they just listened me.”
“But…”
The Charmlettros raised her hand and said, “Listen, you are here for a purpose, have you become a doo-dad now?”

“You only told I am not one yet.”
“It is because you are not one yet. I ask you, wasn’t that time enough to learn the art of green magic.”
“Was it, would it have been enough for you?”
“More than enough.”
“Then you and I are different.”
“Yes, so is every being from another. What did Obora tell you?”
“Why should I believe you? He told ‘be careful of the dangerous creature of the forest and its beings.”
“Cause you are not dead yet.”
Remuka sat still for some time, so did the Charmlettros. She wanted to see the reaction of the lady in front of her, but nothing came.
Finally she said, “Okay, I take the risk, he told I have to learn to bind to nature on my own, then the nature will bend with me.”
“Done some thinking from your part I see. I am here to tell you something Remuka, the King is not your father.”
“What!”
“Yes, it’s true. The king married your mother when she had you for peace settlement because your mother was the leader of all the sorcerers and they were treated backward.”
“But my mother left my father.”
The lady laugher aloud. She said, “Your mother stood beside the King only once, that too at the marriage, rest of her time she just sits on the throne.”
“And my father?”
“Well your mother stays with your real father. To the outside she is the wife of the King.”
“So the King has another wife.”
“He is one among the few who never marries.”
“My father?”
“Is Obora, the doo-dad from where you are coming.”
“It is a lie.”
“You can ask him when you meet him. Now presently, why do you not feel the nature around you?”
“I feel it.”
“I want you to master the art of green magic as fast as possible, hence listen. Don’t experience nature as an outsider, but as a part of it, the nature talks, talk to it, listen to it, try to bend with it.”
“I have tried it.”
“Do it, now”
Remuka closed her eyes trying to listen to the trees, to the nature. She could control her thoughts and be silent from inside and still could listen to anything. The lady in front of her met the same, waiting of Remuka’s victory. Remuka finally opened her eyes with a light grief, grief of failing, grief of knowing the truth.
Remuka said, “Maybe I am not destined to be a doo-dad.”
“Maybe, but the book of destiny is in our hands Remuka, choose it wisely when it comes to that.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
The lady rose from her seat, the seat sank back to the ground, she extended her hands, caught Remuka from her arms and lifted her. Remuka rose.
The lady locked eye to eye with Remuka and said, “Come, let’s sing and dance.”
The lady, the Charmlettros began her song and all was silent. Remuka did not get any idea of lyrics. The lady stopped for a moment and said, “Don’t worry. Produce the sounds that come in your mind with rhythm of your heart.” and continued singing and dancing waving her hands. Remuka waited for a moment, then started to sing a song taught to her by her mother, the dance taught to her. Remuka and the Charmlettros danced side by side, animals and trees danced the same as before. The lady stopped, retreated and vanished from there and hence did her sound but the song of Remuka changed, her heart sang a song of its own, her body danced on its own, the animals closed more so did the plants, her heart was happy and finally she sank to the ground, with trees in her eyes.

A voice sounded all around, “Now you are ready. Rise Remuka the doo-dad, the sorceress, the one to unite both.”
Leofin and Amnophia were walking with Obora since a long time without talking. The tension of human, elf and an orc present together was unexplainable.
Finally it was for Obora to break the silence, “You have to get to the Kingdom of waterbies. That is only possible after crossing the Kingdom of elves. After crossing the Kingdom of elves you will find the place where a mark will be there, the sign is visible at night, and you would have to go to the underground.
“And why would we have to do that, I just want to find my friend.”
“The only way your friend can be found and saved is with the help of the dark knight. And he is where I told you, you may be having a link with Ivan, but not enough to locate him.”
“The Kingdom of Elves is not a problem.” said Amnophia. “But they might not be ready to welcome a human and an orc to trespass their lands.”
“I am not going to come.” said Obora. “I am just taking you to Remuka, who will be a doo-dad.”
“Will be?” asked Leofin.
“Yes, will be, like you will be the Warren Warrymn and you will an Elfian Gemlet.”
“Why do we need to find her?”
“There is a need of a doo-dad to open the gates of seals of the dark world. Anyway the Kingdom of waterbies will be interesting.”
“Is the dark world the Kingdom of waterbies.” asked Amnophia.
“No, it is where the entrance is located.”
While they were walking they heard a thunderous voice but a melodious one. The speech was not clear on purpose. Obora’s face had a different kind of smile.
Obora said, “Now you should continue on your path alone and don’t mention my name to Remuka.”
Obora after saying this touched one of the plants and was absorbed to it and taken into its system of roots and taken back to home.
Amnophia said, “If he could have just brought us from that city to here, she could have taken us here without making us walk.”
But Leofin was not at all interested in this and asked, “Do you really care for Ivan elf or are you just trying to betray me.”
Amnophia took her arrow in a flash of a second and pointed it at Leofin. They locked their eyes and she said, “I could kill you right now.”
But it was not destined for Leofin to die by the hands of Amnophia that day. A voice was heard and suddenly all the branches of the trees covered Leofin and all the roots caught Amnophia’s hand. Amnophia’s bow and arrows along with her bracelet and bangles were stretched far away but Leofin caught his sword and tried to swing it but the power he had received earlier was just lost. It weighed like before.
A voice was heard, “You are not still ready Leofin to be the warren Warrymn.” Remuka walked in front of both of them, she just put her hand up at a distance but aimed towards Amnophia and flame gleamed up her hands.
Remuka asked, “Why do you want to hurt Leofin.”
Leofin suddenly got rid of the lose clutches of the trees and said, “She’s with us, believe me.”
“She’s an elf.”
“Are you a half orc!” asked Amnophia.
The roots of the trees started taking bolder hold over Amnophia and one of the roots held Amnophia’s neck.
“How do you know?” shouted Remuka.
“You only told that I am an elf. Elves know orc the best. You have the scent of an orc though the shape of a human.”
Amnophia tried to concentrate her energy and lift up the arrows, one among the capability of gemnets is to control arrows with thoughts. The arrows got charged and hit Remuka; there was an explosion and the roots got loose over Amnophia and she fell over the ground. But Remuka was ready with her next attack but Leofin went in between and said, “I am okay, we have come to bargain with you.”
Remuka seemed to calm down and loosened herself a bit. Leofin went over to check over Amnophia but she swayed him away with just a look.
Leofin said, “Whatever the problems are Remuka, we need you to come with us, to follow the path of searching, to find the land of waterbies.”
“Why do you underestimate your power.” asked Remuka with a superior tone.
“Excuse me.” asked Leofin.
“Why do you underestimate your warrior skills? You are also a doo-dad by birth. I can sense it, but you have not valued any of your potential.”
“I am not here to talk about anything. My friend is in danger and I want you to help me.” said Amnophia.
“So Ivan is your friend.” asked Remuka.
“How do you know?” asked Amnophia.
I can read minds, said Remuka to both of their minds.
“Anyway” continued Remuka, “I had been in a time lapse and had been for thousands of years, so I want some immediate motion. Who has a map?”
“Don’t worry. I know someone who can help us.” said Amnophia who continued, “He is an old acquaintance of mine.”

8 95The Pharaoh's Dancer
"Do you know what to do, Amunet?" A voice as sweet as silk whispered into the young girl's ear. Amunet didn't look over her shoulder, but shifted uncomfortably on her bare feet before nodding her head. A soft hand touched her back and urged her forward. All eyes turned towards the girl dressed in transparent linen with her dark hair tumbling down her back and her violet eyes lined by kohl. Every movement caused the jewels on her wrists and ankles to dangle and shimmer in the light. She raised her head and found the Pharaoh's transfixed stare. His jade eyes narrowed in on hers and the room became still and silent. Amunet bowed and, at the pluck of a harp string, began to dance.---cover by @AddietayDoes contain reference to some mature themes that may not be suited for a younger audience.
