Chapter 13
The dark knight
While Leofin opened his eyes, the darkness had not been swept away. Leofin started to choke due to the darkness. Suddenly someone caught his hand, it was Amnophia. She had her bow and arrow on one hand both radiating light. Leofin and Amnophia had locked their eyes.
She shouted, “Get up. We will have to get out of here.”
Leofin tried to take his sword, but it just acted as an ordinary blade now. He tried to remember what was told to him but the sword did not empower him.
All of his team mates closed over him, they started to try to activate their internal powers but the outer darkness was too much.
The King shouted, “I never knew Krokon to be so powerful.”
“Only dark knight can do something.” said Mystcot.
“Forget it.” said the King. He continued, “Let’s get out of here. Now.”
They all apparated out of there using their magical artifacts and powers. When they were out of there they looks around. They could see the elapse of darkness, the area where they were locked. They could feel their powers returning.
Amnophia and Mayoko locked their eyes. Amnophia let her purple streak fly while Mayoko, the Blue-blossom arrow, both hit at the centre together, where it was the source of the darkness. The flash of light appeared, the area was filled with light. The area was cleaned and where there were houses of the mercenaries, it was nothing.
Mystcot said, “Nothing has happened. They just apparated from here.”
“We have to be ready for war.” said the King.
Leofin jumped forwards and said, “What was it said about the dark knight.”
“None of your jobs kid.” said the King.
“I am one among the patrol member.”
“An apprentice, and what is it between you and the dark knight.” asked the King.
“The dark knight is stirring up, I heard it.”
“If he is stirring, he was stirring for the previous century, and you shut up.”
“You can ask Ivan of it.”
“Ivan who?”
“Ivan, where is Ivan.”
Ivan was not among the group. Leofin searched from here to there but could not find him. He ran towards the area where they were trapped and searched there. Mystcot send a call to Marmok and Revarin who appeared there. They used their magic to search for him but he was not successful. Ivan was the only friend he had. Tears dropped from his eyes but not a sound was heard from him, he stood stiff and nothing could be told of him. Mayoko moved to console him but he moved her away with a glance.

Mystcot said, “Ivan is not seen.”
“He has been taken away and none of them was killed.” said Revarin.
“Well nothing can be said now.” said the King. He continued, “Forget about everything now, we have a realm to save.”
“I think it is time for the ceremony.” said Marmok.
“We don’t have a warrior.” said the King.
“We do.” said Mystcot.
“Mystcot we talked of this, do you thing he is ready.” shouted the King.
Leofin heard a voice in his head, it was not his voice but a female one, it echoed, “Do not lose your chance Leofin, do what your heart says.”
Leofin was overwhelmed by all this. He considered on the subject, as an object of discussion thoughts flooded his mind from childhood, an orphan even though son of great parents, a sword bound with no power, all of the persons of his age staring at him as though he was just a source of amazement and Mystcot blaming him for everything and the King considering him a child, a little kid who knows nothing. He was tired by all this, hence wanted to end it all, to turn away from there. But the feeling which was due to thinking all the feelings brought hysteria, due to which he shouted.
Leofin took out the rage, overwhelmed by the loss of an only true friend Ivan.
He shouted at the King yet his voice was moderate, hence having an attempt to convince the at hand he said, “We have to help him, find him.”
“We don’t even know if he is alive.” said the King.
“I don’t care, just find him.” shouted Leofin.
“I say the same, we can’t just leave a friend of ours.” said Amnophia.
“Shut up you all and you elf, we have more important matter to take care.”
“Like what, saving you throne.” asked Leofin.
Mystcot came in between, caught Leofin’s hand and shouted, “What are you doing, you are talking to the King, don’t leave your standard.”
“Standard huh, you never had standard.” said the King.
Amnophia who has developed a likeness for Ivan understood that the only was Ivan could be brought was support Leofin.
But while these dialogues were going on Leofin hears a voice, the same female voice he heard before. “Step up warrior, the Warren Warrymn.”
The time was paused and all seemed to rest, a face appeared in front of Leofin, of that of dimensioner, the face looked into the eyes of Leofin and murmured.
“Don’t stay with the King, take a separate path, take Amnophia with you, find the dark knight, he will find Ivan. Leave as fast as possible, promise Amnophia the Relumatsan, Relumatsan shall see her.”

The time was same as normal, the King and Mystcot were arguing while Mayoko and Amnophia were too. Leofin for the first time with full heart touched his sword, with love, with care, with utmost wish to use, with need. The sword answered him, the sword was partially awake for a second or two.
He pointed the sword out, which was observed by all, their attention was towards Leofin thinking he would do something stupid.
He announced, “I am going to find Ivan.”
“How might that be.” intervened the King. “We have already lost one fighter, though a soldier, we cannot lose one more.”
“Lose, you have already lost me.”
“Shut up, he might even be dead.”
“I have a link with him, a blood link. I know he is alive. I can feel him.”
The King looked towards Marmok, “Is it true Marmok.”
“I am afraid it is so.”
Leofin turned towards Amnophia and said, “Help me find Ivan Elf, you know him well.”
Mayoko jumped and said, “Amnophia, we have another mission here.”
But this time the sword was ready for advance, it filled the mind of Leofin with thoughts, with moves, with codes and conduits.
He raises the sword towards the King and said, “I am Leofin, the son Raddak, the Warren Warrymn and Remeena the doo-dad, I step up to claim the position of Warren Warrymn, I am Zermeon, destructor of spectral beings, commander of forces of weils, wielder of sword Reventhina, the dark manned sword, made of blood of blood, by the forger of forgers, I am the possessor of the sword and the sword of me, I step up to be the Warren Warrymn.”
A faint memory flicked Leofin of him being with his parents, his mother teaching him names of plants and their uses, he bending with nature, his father teaching him to use a wooden sword, the dimensioner making him age backwards. An unseen energy rippled through him.
“By what right do you challenge.” asked the King.
“I do not challenge.” he put his sword up, an army of beings rose behind him, the earth began to shake and rivers to churn, storms to form, then when he lowered the sword all things turned to normal, he turned to the King and said, “The forces answer me, hence I am the warren Warrymn.”
The King laughed aloud, then he said, “A warren Warrymn can be made by those who are selected by the previous warren Warrymn.”
Leofin was taken back to one more memory, where he was turned to see his father talking with a man, the dimensioner, his mother sitting along too. The dimensioner said, “I will be there whenever you need, technically.”
Leofin was angry. After having that thought he could not give away what he was destined to have. The words of the dimensioner ringed true in his ears, to leave the party, to take Amnophia for help, to find the dark knight.
Leofin took his sword and turned to Amnophia and said, “Amnophia, you were with Ivan for long enough to be his friend, don’t you think of anyone, just come with me and help me find Ivan.”
But Mayoko intervened, “You have a different mission Amnophia, don’t forget your class.”
Leofin understood what was going on as the sword was feeding him with partial information. He understood what was going in Amnophia’s mind.
“Amnophia, I know where to find Relumatsan exactly. I need the help of a gemlet.”
The words sounded like thunder to the wars of Amnophia, Mayoko was dumbstruck because even she did not know where to find Relumatsan exactly. Amnophia took her bow and arrow and nodded to Leofin. Mayoko took her arrow and pointed it to Amnophia. Mystcot and the King took their blades and advanced towards Leofin.
Leofin shouted, “Severus, stay back.”
The King was taken aback because there were very few who knew his name which was a secret.
Leofin’s power was draining away because he had not activated his sword yet, and he was not worthy completely. He understood it completely and said to Amnophia.
“Now”
Amnophia took her arrows and shot it at the ground which released a wave of pure energy, everyone was blinded for a second or two, Amnophia ran out towards Leofin took his hand and apparated out of there. But something was tugging him from behind, they both apparated back in front of the King which was due to the power of Marmok, who had closed all the ways of elemental transportation. Mayoko shot an arrow which was deflected back by Amnophia.
Leofin could feel the power of roots grasping his feet, he caught Amnophia’s hand suddenly. They were absorbed by the roots. They appeared in front of huge trees.
Amnophia asked, “Where are we.”
A sound came from behind, “The Reverill forest.”
