《Sekai》Chapter 4: Two Mouths

Hartea would be laying on the ground, as he would slowly open his eyes due to the constant shaking of his right shoulder, he would then turn towards the source of this -- as he saw a little boy who had a smile spread on his face, as Hartea would jump up on his feet, as he would hold his hand to the little boy, but no matter how high the little boy jumped, he couldn't reach Hartea's hand. Hartea giggled, placing his hand in his pocket and adjusted the quilt around his neck. The kid who woke Hartea up looked almost like the lady whose house he came from, the kid stood at 3'6 and was equipped with a small little jacket.
Hartea: Hey there kid, that crazy haired lady brought you here too?
Boy: Yeah, She took Papa too! He was here with some other people, but when I woke up they were all gone.
Hartea: Hm, weird. Maybe they went home!
Boy: W-What!? Nooo, my Papa would never leave me!
Hartea: I dunno kid, what if he just got hungry and was just like "Aww shoot, I forgot my kid!"
Boy: If that ever happened, Mama would punch him fifty shades of shame!
Hartea laughed, as he would then hear the screams of a man down the cave he was now inside of with the child, as the child would jump up and begin running towards the source of the noise
Boy: That's Papa's voice!
Hartea: Yo, hey wait up!
Hartea would run after the kid, as they would end up in a wide open section of the cave where stones poked out of the top of the roof, and Hartea would yell as well, as his face cringed together and he covered the child's eyes -- Hartea would gaze upon the sight of a woman sitting down on her knees with her hands on both sides of her head as her stomach growled and her hair had grabbed Hartea's companion's father, bringing it closer to her mouth along with another man, Hartea would look around the room, as he turned the child's back to him, giving the child the thumbs up.

Hartea: Uhhh, let's play hide and seek. You count to one hundred and ignore the countless screams and shrieks of agony behind you.
Boy: Okay One. . .two . . .threeeee. . . .Uh. . .Four. . .!
Hartea: Perfect. And if you turn around you're fired.
Hartea would then run towards the woman, stopping at the left side as he slid towards her and attempted to punch the back or her head, but he stumbled backwards and almost yelled out
Hartea: Whoa, what the hell is that!? You have TWO MOUTHS!? Did your husband send you up here?
The second mouth yelled out, as the hair would attack Hartea by attempting to impale his chest, He would roll backwards the avoid its attempt, as he ran back to the hair and grabbed the bangs of hair that wrapped around and gripped on the men he was trying to save. He slammed the bangs down, causing it to lose its grip on the men as they would scramble their way out of the hair's grip -- the child's father would run towards their kid, about to say their name, but he stopped as he just watched his kid in utter confusion
Boy: Twenty one. . .Twenty two. . .twenty threeeee. . .twenty four. . .!
Boy's Father:. . .What are you-
The boy would stop counting for a second and began speaking to his dad, however, he didn't want to get fired -- so he continued to face the wall.
Boy: Papa! What number comes after twenty-four?
Boy's Father: Twenty Five, Ekon.
Ekon: Twenty five!
Ekon's father smacked his face with the palm of his hand, as he sighed, he would pick up his son and slowly walk out the room
Ekon's Father: Jerry, come on!
Jerry: I'm on my way, Hagan!
Jerry would run after Hagan and Ekon, leaving only Hartea and the two-mouthed lady to settle their issue

Futakuchi(Second Mouth): . . .You. . .YOU RUINED MY MEAL. MY PRECIOUS FUTAKUCHI NEEDS TO EAT, THESE PESKY PEOPLE KEEP STEALING OUR FOOD AT THIS RATE WE'LL STARVE!
This voice was coming from the mouth on the woman's back head, as the hair would form sharp tips and blade towards Hartea, Hartea would run, but one of hair blade stabbed into his foot, and dragged him closer to its mouth but Hartea would grab the blade of the hair and pull it from inside of his foot, dropping to the floor as he would retreat back, looking at the hair as it rose high above him. Hartea would then run back towards the hair, but this time, he rolled on the floor and in front of the woman, this caused the hair to have to curved and almost fully wrap around its host's head, Hartea would stand on one knee as he held his hands out as the blade's charged towards his face
Hartea: Halt!
The hair would stop, as the woman would also look up towards him, with tears in his eyes. He would wink towards the girl, giving her the thumbs up as she refrained herself from laughing at him, as he would stand on the both of his feet, dusting himself off as he would shake his head
Hartea: Alright, alright -- let me get this straight: These people were eating the food in the forest, or taking it back to your home village, and it left you to starve. Soooo, you started eating them. . .?
Futakuchi(Second mouth): Yep.
Hartea: I HAVE A SOLUTION TO YOUR ISSUE, HOW ABOUT YOU JUST MOVE INTO THE VILLAGE?
The weeping lady's eyes widen, and the hair would drop down, as she would slowly tremble, her stomach growling, as she hugged herself, shaking her head left and right
Futakuchi: I. . .I don't know. . .Do you honestly believe they'll let me into their village. . .?
Hartea: After you eaten and kidnapped a plethora of their people? Of course! And plus, it'll let you all come to an agreement, you don't have to starve, and the village people don't have to go missing! Win-win! Come on, I'll even come with you and get you a nice little meal!
Futakuchi smiled, as she started to tear up again, wiping her tears as she slowly stood up, but would fall back down; she was a very slim figure, not too slim -- but slim enough to tell she hasn't eaten in days. Hartea would hold out his hand to Futakuchi, as he gripped onto her small hand and pulled her up.
Futakuchi: I. . .thank you, I do hope this goes well. . .your kindness is overwhelming. . .what is your name. . .?
Hartea: Don't even mention it! And my name is Hartea, Hartea IDka!

Lorian Ellins [Dropped]
Lorian found himself in the medieval European style world, thinking he went back in time. However, upon inquiring, he realized history, customs and as such were different. This was a whole new world he knew nothing about. A place where powerful were respected and feared, a place where monsters and different races existed. After a lucky encounter, Lorian manages to secure a job, home and survival. However, the world is large and ready to be explored. Lorian won't be lost in mediocrity. This is his destiny. Nonetheless, everyone starts at a low point in life. Fast growth and OPness seemed impossible even with the help of the system. , Life is neither a game nor a bunch of numbers. It's far more complex and unpredictable. We don't know where we stand in the future, or is there even future prepared for us? I always thought that overused motto in wuxia novels, '' I want to control my destiny '' was cliche and we had less control over our lives as they are dictated by many other factors. This world taught me otherwise, thus this place shall be my new beginning. '' PS: The cover is not mine. It was randomly found on the internet. Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
