《Tools of Slaughter: Story of a Human》A Normal Girl's Reincarnation

Mr. Rochester did not seem surprised to find a stranger in his living room. He introduced, " This is Feixin, a mutant. I'm sure you've learned about mutants in class, Carol. It can protect Carlos. He is our family's heir, he needs a bodyguard, and Feixin is the perfect one for the job." He looked at his son gently. Carlos looked just like he did when he was a child.
Carol frowned but didn't oppose it. She knew how lucky her little brother was. She learned about mutants in school. They are super rare successes out of many failed human experiments. No one has ever succeeded in making a mutant, even though theoretically, it was possible. But since father said she is a mutant, then she must be. This Feixin might be one of the few mutants in the world. Perhaps...from Country C? But it could be Country E as well... Carol quietly speculated about the countless possibilities.
When Carlos heard his name, he looked at his father questioningly. " Is she going to be my present, daddy?"His father hesitated, then nodded.
Carlos brightened up right away. " What's your name again? Oh, that's right, it's F... ei… xi…? Nah, I'll just call you Fei from now on. That'll be your name now. You're gonna be my playmate right? Yassss! It's gonna be so cool. Hey, are you going to always stay with me, Fei? I'm sure you will. Daddy says you'll be my protector. Is that true Fei? You look so pretty though Fei. I didn't think you could beat up people too, Fei. Fei, are you ever gonna teach me how to fight? Darn, I really wanted to learn martial arts and stuff but Daddy said no… Hey Fei, do you know how to--"
"Ok, ok. That's enough Carlos." Mr. Rochester burst out laughing.

Fei was overwhelmed. She couldn't understand a word they were saying. The only words she remembered amongst the overload of words were Fei, and Carlos.
" (Feixin, I think you should go with Carlos for now. He will introduce everything to you.)" Mr. Rochester said gently. He pointed at his son. "(Your duty is to protect him.)"
Carlos nodded furiously. He grabbed her hand excitedly and rushed through the door without minding his family's and Fei's thoughts.
in the courtyard, Carlos began explaining and introducing a mansion. He noticed that Fei didn't seem to react to anything he said.
"Hey, do you even understand what I'm saying?" Carlos questioned suspiciously. Fei blinked in reply.
" I guess not... well, you do look like a foreigner I guess. do you want to learn English? I'm learning English at school. I'm in 2nd grade now! when you have time, I'll lend you some of my books to read actually, you know what, I'll teach you English myself. I have really good grades after all." He beamed in pride.
Fei's lips curled into a smile at this expression even though she didn't know why she felt did so. Perhaps... it was happiness? Then, Carlos continued to introduce a mansion to Fei while chattering happily.
On the other hand, Fei was amazed by the interior and exterior of the mansion.
Numerous white columns surrounded the dwelling and supported a spacious terrace filled with plants. There were huge glass windows with carvings lining their edges everywhere. Flying buttresses outlined the outer walls of the building. The mansion built with an inner courtyard in the middle of it. Lush green grass was spread neatly in the surrounding area. There was a majestic fountain with delicately carved designs in the center of the grass. Birds chirped wildly for space to land on it.

Fei was amused. She ran towards to fountain, slipping away from Carlos who didn't realize that no one was following him anymore. As she approached, the birds became startled and flew away, their large wings creating a slight wind around her. Fei was disappointed when the birds dispersed, but she decided to just see what was so fascinating about the fountain. She stared hard at this mysterious goblet that spurted water into the air. It does look pretty amazing, Fei thought, as she was mesmerized by the flowing of the water.
Just when her hand was going to touch the water, another frail hand abruptly gripped her arm.
Fei blinked and turned to face a beautiful woman with deep gray eyes and long, brunette hair, dressed in a plain white, long-sleeved dress.
...
Eyrie sat by the window, taking in the warm summer breeze. It was unknown how long she had been there; it seemed like she was waiting for something to happen. Two figures walking out of one of the side entrances of the house.
Eyrie felt especially nostalgic when she saw that girl with dark, ebony hair following behind her brother. Fei. She hated and loved her at the same time. Should she greet her? No, it's her fault that she'd been having nightmares every day ever since her rebirth. Eyrie couldn't get that terrifying scene of watching her entire family die out of her head…
Who had said reincarnation was cool and advantageous? She really wanted to curse that person. In her past life, she was just an ordinary girl with a naive and kind heart who loved reading fantasy-themed novels. Of course, that genre included rebirth and reincarnation. She had dreamt about those inconceivable things happening to her. Yet when it did happen to her, Eyrie wished to escape from the new life.
In her past life, Eyrie met the love of her life when she was 15 and married him at the age of 19. She conceived 2 boys whom she loved dearly. Yet when disaster struck, she saw her children's looks of disdain and her husband's sneers before they kicked her out to fare for herself. Her father couldn't bother to care about his very ordinary daughter. Even in childhood, her importance was undermined by her genius little sister.
In this life, she was able to change her fate. But for better or for worse? With her past life's experiences, she was able to coin the title "prodigy," but the influence of her "intelligence" brought her a lonely school experience and people's ugly jealousy. If it weren't for her family's lofty position, Eyrie knows she would've been kicked and abused as a "nerd" before her intelligence was taken advantage of and used. Did Carol live through this as well?
Suddenly, the black-haired girl turned around and stared at the central fountain in bewilderment; which snapped Eyrie out of her reminiscence.
Eyrie had expected it. Just as she was about to leave the window, she whipped her head back in astonishment. Fei's eyes were different colors, violet and golden.
Before she realized it, Eyrie had run down to the courtyard and soundlessly approached 'Fei'. Her dress and hair flowed in the mild wind. She held in her soreness and panting from running with a struggle. She watched Fei with a murderous glare as the other girl noisily examined the fountain, causing the birds bathing in it to scatter. Right when she attempted to reach into the fountain, Eyrie reached out and gripped her arm with strength and courage she didn't know she had possessed.

The Nobles from their seats of power? Or the elusive Sorcerers who wield power untold? And what maggots crawl in this great creature, all trying to get a piece of its slowly decaying flesh. Verdant Heart Seed - A Reverend Insanity fan-fiction
Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leaves a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.---This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life. One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
