《Aurelion》Chapter 6

"Something is over there!" I said to Kishi, "Maybe someone is trapped or hurt there, they might need help!"
"I can sense some heartbeats there." Kishi said. "Let's go, it's not like we can help the demi-human anyways. Alduin also doesn't look like he wants to hurt it.... Well, it seems more like Alduin is too lazy to move now"
We ran towards the stack of wood, passing the few hundred meters of a totally naked and flat ground. On our way, I can't help but think of what would happen to me if I was the target instead of Alduin. Would I survive? Would my body even still exist at that point?
When we arrived at the pile of trees, we heard people gasping. "Are you ok?" I shouted
"Yeah, we're alright for now, but I don't think I can hold the trees for much longer" A young man's voice replied
"We?" I asked "How many of you are in there?"
"There's 3 of us" A woman's voice came out this time
"Alright, we'll help you out now" Kishi replied
Me and Kishi tried moving the trees, but it was too ineffective. We only managed to move two trees after five minutes, so I imagined the young man stuck in there with his last breaths of strength left
"We need another way" I told Kishi
"Yea" Kishi replied "Stand back" Kishi told as he took out his katana
"Be careful, remember there's people under that!" I said as I move to a few meters behind Kishi.
Kishi closed his eyes and held his katana with his right hand. He pulled back his katana to the left side, then his katana started to glow for some reason and was letting out a powerful yet familiar magical aura

He made a single slash, towards the upper right. Then, suddenly it felt like twenty more katanas came out of thin air, all slashing the pile of wood. The katanas slashes looked like Kishi had twenty katanas and used all of it to slash at the same time, in a circular manner and mixed with a few random slashed from different direction. It reminded me of a blender's four blades, turning round and round and slashing at the items from four different directions, but all of them coming from the same twister.
Right after that split second, the magical aura dissipated and all the katanas that appeared out of no where just disappeared. Then, it hit me. "That attack you used, it was like....."
"Yeah, it's basically the same skill, but with a small difference, which is whether it's ranged or not." Kishi said before I finished my sentence.
What was left of the pile of trees are many long pieces of wood. Some so think that I believe that it could break from a single punch from a child. I heard a "Hah!" and a person popped out of the wood
I jumped next to him. "Are you ok? Where are the others?"
"Yeah. They're here!" He said as he dug through some more pieces of wood near him.
As we were digging through the wood, I took a closer look at the man. He was fit and has a little bit of buffy muscles. I was sure he wasn't a human, most likely a demon or another demi-human, from his small horns at the two upper corners of his face.
After a little while, we got the other two persons out, an older man who looked like a human in their 40s, and a woman who's probably about the same age.

They thanked us and gave us a little introduction. The first man, the younger one, was indeed a demon. His name was Radolf. The other two were from a village nearby and they owned a tavern. Kishi introduced himself and when he started introducing me, the woman suddenly said "Are... Are you a human?"
"Yea, I am. What's wrong? Aren't the both of you humans too?" I said
"No, we are demi-humans. We just haven't awaken the spirit animal inside of us so we look more human." the man said.
"Oh, but why does it seemed like you two were surprised to find out I'm a human?"
"Because.... Because humans are supposed to be extinct" the man said
The woman continued "Based on the legend, humans has been extinct since they lost their last settlements about 4000 years ago, during the blood moon period that lasted for 3 months"
