《Starship Nyx》Chapter 25: The eiganphans

The two living men had to have killed the teens. One who survived was a little boy. His body was weak. He kept fighting against the insane adults. Klahan and Fred couldn't stay and watch. They ran to the monstrous men.
The men were very surprised. Our team held them suddenly against the ground. The men fell back. Our team sat on their stomach and beat them bloodily many times until they died.
"Stop now!" Ava said.
"Think about the boy!" Robert said.
"He is afraid for you," I said.
Our team began to realize that the boy was afraid for them, so they stopped at once. Louise reassured the boy. I asked him about his name. He dared to speak the foreign language. We didn't understand him, thought Sophia, Louise and Klahan spoke softly with him. I asked to them about the language.
It was French mixed with Guinean and Swiss accent. The French speaking members didn't recognize the strange words. I asked them if they understood the words. They said yes. My French was rotten. The boy's name was Nicwily.
"Ask to him about his family," I said.
"We already have done it, but his family is dead, ma'am," Louise said.
"Ask about these men."
Nicwily rarely knew the men. What were they doing here? They forced the boys to kill them hard. We weren't specially surprised. Nicwily seemed to be a very good boy. The teens were his worst rivals.
We needed the adults, but the men were dead. Their blood was sky blue. They had the African bag. We looted the dead men. They had mass gold pieces and a ticket. There was an odd symbol on the ticket.
So, the symbol looked like a scantily armored female reptilian. What would we do with the dead men? We would hide them. What was the ticket showing for? We had hard to understand that the men forced the boys to kill them here. It was very strange.
Demala and Jynaxos looked into the clothes. Klahan counted the gold pieces. Robert scanned the reptilians. Ava got their blood. Iduao investigated the metal while I investigated the weapons. We worked on the reptilians.
I saw some flashes behind the tree. Iduao and Demala sniffed something. We looked at each other. I called after somebody in the forest. Somebody backed away carefully. We began to run at the same time.
I saw that it was the female and young reptilian. We were in the deep forest later. It was very strange for the forest. I wondered about a thing. Why did the reptilian run away from us? What would a girl do?
It was dark here. How did the girl know the deep forest? She knew that we looked for her. I realized that she made a trap, abruptly I signaled the maguwos to freeze. We stayed instantly. Iduao let Demala and me to speak with the girl, so we were women.
"You made a trap, didn't? We don't want to harm you," I called out.
"I know that we are strangers for you," Demala called out.
The reptilian showed up. She was a pretty woman. I saw that she was afraid of us. We understood her fully. She was hesitant to say. We picked our weapon away.

"It is okay to ask," I said.
"What are you for something?" the reptilian asked.
"I am a human. My name is Mara Tan."
The reptilian looked at the maguwos.
"We are maguwos," Demala said. "My name is Demala. This is Iduao. We are from the planet Jaioo."
"I am from the planet Earth," I said. "Can you tell about your name and your species? We are very curious, so we are only here to meet the strange species."
The reptilian's name was Qegila Sokaioy. She only knew a little about her species. The main species was called the eiganphans. Qegila's species was called the zalinos. There were four more species, but she wasn't into them. We told about our species.
I asked Qegila if we would meet the team and she nodded. We returned to our team with her. Our team investigated the area when we were finished to hide the bodies. The French speaking members spoke with Nicwily. Qegila was extremely quiet. I asked to her if she was okay and she said that she was very angry with her idiotic husband.
Nicwily recognized Qegila and ran to her. They hugged each other. We were surprised that they knew each other. The zalinos spoke French and Louise translated what they said. Qegila was Nicwily's favorite aunt. She forgave her idiotic husband because he sold her own nephew to the black market without her permission.
Nicwily smiled and shook his head slowly. Louise asked Nicwily if he should play with her. He looked at his favorite aunt and she nodded. Louise and Nicwily left us at once. Qegila and I should speak. I asked about Nicwily.
Nicwily was Qegila's two best childhood friends' kid and the last line of the Zaoqy clan. Qegila was the protector of Nicwily. The clan was pacific. I shook my head slowly, so it wasn't right for them.
"Why did your husband sell Nicwily?" I asked angrily.
"I also wonder, but he is not an ianu zalino," Qegila said.
Is 'ianu' about moral?"
"Oui!"
"I don't think that it is okay to forgive your husband, but he should apologize instead, Qegila. Nicwily seems smart."
Qegila was very surprised. I asked about the house and she said that it was hers. Her foolish husband's name was Xaoney. Klahan finished to count the gold pieces and it was thirty. I asked Qegila if we might meet her husband. She nodded.
After a long moment, we went to the house. The house was a Craftsman house with a Roman roof. It was very weak and the family was poor. I liked it. Iduao sniffed something from the house. He signaled one unarmed man.
We went to the door and I looked at Qegila. She nodded. I asked Louise to watch Nicwily because it could happen again. A bored male zalino opened the door. Qegila slapped him instantly and yelled angrily in French about her favorite nephew. Nicwily said to her at the whole time in French to stop, but she just ignored him.
I interrupted Qegila and said, "Your nephew watches on! You are not a good role model for him, Qegila!"
"Non! Ni..." Qegila said.
Qegila stopped to slap Xaoney and then she saw Nicwily. We were very quiet. Qegila spoke softly with Xaoney in French. Louise translated what they said. Qegila spoke about us and presented me for Xaoney. She said that he should apologize to her nephew.

The moment was slow, instantly Xaoney kneed down and apologized to Nicwily. Nicwily smiled and shook his head slowly. He forgave Xaoney. They hugged each other. I asked to Qegila if we might enter. She said yes.
Fortunately, I had an electronic jammer. We entered later. The hall was really dirty. We went to the living room. The living room was big. Louise and Nicwily were playing with Fred, Gustave and Klahan.
The married couple was quiet. We wondered about a thing. I asked about the political system and this planet. The eiganphans had a theocratic dictatorship and their planet's name was Yoilamu. They developed the big hunay. It was a holy weapon that was different from the bows.
I showed my sniper rifle for Qegila. Xaoney signed bigger and sounded "brrr". We humans only realized that the weapon was a tank! The government had two main goals. Their first goal was that they would turn slaves into fighters while their second goal was to be the most powerful. It was just about their power because they always wanted to control their people.
"It sounds like a foolish question, but are there more beings from the other planets?" I asked. "We met you in the forest. You didn't seem surprised."
"We heard that we weren't alone in space, so the government would build an electrical centre," Qegila said. "I don't know if the beings from the other planets visited this planet."
"But?"
"We heard from our friends and our fellow workers that the two beings newly came here."
I asked about the beings. Qegila said that they had three eyes. We humans looked at each other. It sounded like the vepoiws. Why were they on Yoilamu? It seemed like they had the right to stay here.
Qegila said that the eiganphans had a central black market. The government admitted it, however. If the young eiganphans wouldn't disobey the elder, they would be sold. They would sell the kids and the teenagers to the game. I was quietly angry! It was wrong of the horrific government.
"Why did you sell Nicwily to the game, Xaoney?" I asked.
Sophia translated what I said. Xaoney said something sadly in French.
"Xaoney apologises," Sophia said. "He didn't have any choices due to the rules."
I asked how many years the government kept to control this planet. It was over five thousand years if Qegila remembered correctly. The parliament was the most powerful. They voted who become the governmental leader when the current leader would die. The leader was called L'Agronqiteur or the Agronqitor. I asked about the current Agronqitor.
Qegila heard about the genderless Agronqitor's name. The name was Asjon, which was unisex too. It was very mystic to see their gender. I asked about the clans. Notwithstanding that the government only destroyed them, a few clans survived. We were sad to hear.
I asked about the arena. The couple were hesitant to say. They had a weird discussion in French. Qegila exhaled softly. The big arena had a lethal and permanent game. I asked about the game.
The male slaves would win the game by killing men while the female slaves would win the game by raping women. Both of them would become Les Champions. We humans were surprised because it sounded like a gladiatorial game. Some eiganphans thought that it was holy while some had a wish like Qegila to end the game because it was too bloody. Why did the game still exist in the present? The couple didn't know why.
I asked if we would enter. It was impossible to enter the arena without a fresh and genuine ticket! We looked at each other. I showed the ticket for the couple. They were uneasily quiet. What have we done for wrong?
"How?" Qegila asked.
"We happened to find the three men, so we had to save Nicwily from them," I said. "But we killed them."
"We recognise the symbol on the white ticket! The symbol is very famous for the business! It is not good!"
"What? We hid them."
"You don't understand what you have done! It is not good either! MSR will hunt us, Mara!"
"Whoa! You will stay calm! What is it?"
The MSR or Ministère de la Secrète Religieuse controlled the religious opinion. They were fearless and dangerous. Every week they reported directly to the Agronqitor. Some agents tortured the eiganphans if they didn't share the religious opinion and some made the eiganphans weak. We humans looked at each other. It sounded like the secret police.
"I am ready!" I said.
"Wait now! You are not an eiganphan," Qegila said.
"I know, but we are only here to meet the strange species."
"You can't defeat the eiganphans."
"C'mon! You want to finish the game. I know that you will do your peaceful way. It doesn't help your people. We are the irenic warriors. Your people are blind for the game!"
Qegila asked about the irenic warriors. I explained that an irenic warriors should defend the weak people against the evils, but she didn't think about it. She asked about my plan. To be honest, I didn't have a plan. There were not any good plans either. I asked about the men's identification.
Qegila was somewhat uncertain about their look. I showed the image in my tablet for her. She was shocked to see the image. The men were the most influential businessmen. Even they have been Les Champions Légendaires. We humans knew that it was about power.
Qegila asked about the tablet and I explained it. I wrote a message. It stated that we should stay longer than we thought and that my crew was forewarned about the enemy ship. The invisible message sent to Nyx. I hoped that my crew got my message. What would we do?
I asked later about the game rules. The married couple was hesitant to say about the rules. They began to be worried then. What did I say for wrong? The rules were uncomplicated to tell about. It said that we had to be nude, even we had to be two!
Next day Sophia and I went ourselves to the big arena without our clothes.

The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
