《Starship Nyx》Chapter 24: Breakthrough

I was at Hana's workplace later. The physicians and the surgeons waited for me. Hana looked at the brain screen. The brain was Zoi'un's. It was different from the vepoiws. We were lucky to have Zoi'un's case.
I asked about Zoi'un's case. Cunoa explained that his sight was better and stronger in the darkness! His sight was yellow, purple, black and green. We never have seen the sight earlier. It was very rare to see through the nudity with colors. I asked about the doctors' reason and they copied Zoi'un's sight due to my expertise in technology.
Hana gave the USB flash drive to me. I thanked the doctors and asked if that was everything. They nodded slowly. I left the sick bay immediately. What would I do? I would make a superhard glass, but I didn't know much about the superhard glass.
So, I made a secure glass. To make glass was Sophia's research subject. She had to be in the engineering laboratory. I went there. The laboratory was lovely! I never have been here earlier.
There were mass male engineers and a few female engineers. The male engineers were hot! I was a technologist. The technologists and the engineers were the same. Although they worked in different areas. An engineer created model while a technologist designed special equipment.
It was extremely fun to see how the engineers worked. I saw Sophia later. She kept making mass glass. One of the glass was broken. What would Sophia do with the broken glass? Why did she try to fix it?
We rarely knew each other. Sophia was more like a little sister for Andrew. I heard that she was both of a top VR gamer and a top computer gamer. She saw me and I came to her. I explained about Zoi'un's sight and the superhard glass.
Sophia thought slowly about a thing, instantly she understood what I needed. She showed me for the window glass. I asked about the glass. Sophia didn't answer anything. She unholstered her pistol, suddenly she hit the glass. The glass was broken.
"Oh my God! Warn me next time, Major Sophia," I said.
"Noted, ma'am!" Sophia said. "But this glass is not like the other glass."
"Oh yeah?"
"Look at the glass."
I saw newly that the glass repaired fast automatically. It was very fascinating. The glass existed only on Bomdido. Sophia studied about them. We had an important question. What was the subject of glass?
I asked if I might cooperate with Sophia and she said yes. We noticed that her engineers stared at us. They were just curious. Sophia berated them angrily to not do it if they would get the warning. She was very tough. Her engineers looked away.
Sophia apologized about the idiots. I understood that it was hard to lead the team. We lightly investigated the glass. I found a problem later. It was little material in the glass. Sophia asked about the material.
It was just the water that repaired. We didn't know about them. I thought that it was Joverisc's subject. It was time to ask her. We left the engineering laboratory. Joverisc was in the hydrologic laboratory and it was close to the sick bay.
We went there while we spoke about the games. Our crew stood and bullshitted about the strange hydrologic team. We berated them to not do it. They apologized nervously. We entered the big hydrologic laboratory. The hydrologists stood and stared at the water, even the hydrochemists sat and mixed chemicals.

We found Joverisc. She became very excited to see how the water worked. We waited for her until she saw us. She made a breakthrough. The hydrologists and the hydrochemists congratulated her. We didn't understand the water researches.
Water was water. Joverisc saw us and smiled big. We went to her. She asked about our reason. I told to her about Zoi'un's sight. Sophia explained about the water, but Joverisc was not specially surprised.
"It was me, who made water that repaired the glass," Joverisc said.
We became surprised.
"We never guessed that it really was you. What a surprise! Can the water also repair the other, however?" I asked.
"No, just glass," Joverisc said.
I asked about the breakthrough. One of the hydrologists interrupted us. His name was Keng Joowon. He was a Korean.
"Sorry, Professor Mara and Doctor Sophia, I interrupt you," Joowon said. "I can explain. Do you know about the term life?"
"A little," I said.
"Same here," Sophia said.
The sciences never have told the truth. It was true. Everyone knew that water was an important life for us humans, the numanicans and the other living beings. We nodded.
"The water also can create oxygen," Joowon explained.
"We have done it," Sophia said.
"It is different of 'produce' and 'turn into'. We tested to modify water into the oxygen."
Joowon showed us for this tank. We never have seen the strange breakthrough before. The water could turn into an oxygen.
"Yes, it worked," Joowon said.
"If the water is end?" I asked.
The hydrology team laughed.
"Yes, it is true. But the water never is end because I made a big breakthrough," Joverisc said.
"What a cool breakthrough!" Sophia said.
I asked to Joverisc about water that repaired the glass. She sent the file to Sophia and me, although she explained that the technology and the engineering were not her area. We thanked Joverisc for the help. She asked to us if that was everything and I said yes. We looked at each other. I asked to Sophia if she needed my help, and she said yes.
After the glass was finished, XRN-1 brought them to my laboratory. I returned to the training hall. Ava, Klahan and Fred instructed the inexperienced members. They kicked better. Some members were tired. Ava paused them in three minutes while Sonya seemed to enjoy of exercising longer.
I went to Sonya and she saw me. She stood still. Her body was athletic like me. She grew up in the middle class.
"You have an athletic body," I said.
"Thank you, ma'am!" Sonya said.
"What is your grade in mathematics at high school?"
"A+, ma'am! I want to be a military mathematician. It is my dream like my father. But I need exercising better."
"You know well about the training. Do you want to be my student in my martial arts course?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
I had a good maternity, but I didn't have any kids. As a child, Sonya tragically lost her parents. I scarcely knew them. They were my classmates of the military high school. Sonya seemed to have an iron will. She dared to do it and was aware of the tough training!

"Okay, I will instruct you," I said. "So I will become dangerously tough against you, of course. Not today. At ease!"
"Aye, aye, ma'am!" Sonya said.
I went to my laboratory. XNR-1 waited for me. The camera recognized my face and then the door opened automatically. We entered, so the door closed automatically. What would I do? I would make a pair of glasses.
The glass were navy blue and the spectacle frames were black. They were finished. I liked them. The glasses were very lovely. I made a color sight in them. Would I test to see through the nude bodies?
I left my laboratory. There were three big men and a woman. They went forward. Two of the men were the members of Ground Forces while the other man was a humanist and the woman was a scientist. The two men saluted and I returned it. I tested to wear the glasses.
The sight was like Zoi'un's sight. To see through the nudity with colors was a possible world. It was very nice to see the muscles! I liked my glasses. What would I do with them? I would keep them!
After two hours, I sat in the chair in the bridge. We found Hawking-69g. Gunnar was right that the planet was big. We were sixteen light months away from Hawking-69g. I called to Gunnar and asked if he could arrive the planet by the big telescope. He didn't give an answer.
I ordered the pilots to fly carefully closer and they obeyed. We were nervous. I turned to the radar officer. He stared at the radar screen. We didn't want to stress him. I looked at the length screen.
We were two hundred light days away. Gunnar called to me and asked if we would stay at eighty light days. I accepted his request. We stayed then at eighty light days. Gunnar called to me and said that it was perfect. It was time for the meet!
We sat in the conference later. Gunnar presented Hawking-69g for us. He sounded very excited. It was bigger than the Earth. Gunnar taught us like the high school students. We began to be bored.
"Thank you! No lectures, Doctor Gunnar!" I said.
"Sorry, Professor Mara!" Gunnar said.
"What is special to the planet?"
"The planet is very different, so we never have seen it before."
"Come forward to the thing."
"Okay!"
Unlike the Earth, Hawking-69g had four moons because they rolled slowly every thirty-sixth hour. They were red and mauve. We thought that it was cool. Maximilian told to us that there were a few living beings and that they were horridly big. We hoped that they would be nice. I wondered if they had the advanced technology.
Hawking-69g would be gone in perhaps three hundred billions years, but Adam warned that the planet would be gone next week if he could be wrong. We were worryingly silent. The aliens on Hawking-69g were possibly unaware of the planet's fall. Our big question was if we would send a scouting robot.
Andrew commanded the robotic engineers to the scouting robot to be ready. The engineers sent the scouting robot obediently to Hawking-69g. The result was successful. It stated intelligibly that the air was clean and nice. I asked the planetary climatologists if we would dare to visit the planet. They recommended us to visit the planet.
We would vote. The green side meant that the aliens on Hawking-69g would wait for the first contact or the red side meant that the aliens would sense their threat from us. I voted for green. However, the voters were very secret. Our result was 8-6. We might not change our choice.
I went to my main cabin. The camera recognized my face and then the door opened automatically. I entered when the door closed automatically. The underclothes were difficult to pick up. I picked up the sports bra and boyshorts. XNR-1 helped me to wear the armor.
We were in the hangar later. I saw that there were eleven members in the starfighter. They were Robert, Sophia, Gustav, Adam, Fred, Iduao, Ava, Klahan, Jynaxos, Louise and Demala. I asked Andrew if the starfighter was ready. Andrew said yes. We smiled.
The starfighter was clean and beautiful. We flew quickly to Hawking-69g. Gunnar was right that the planet was big! We were prepared to meet the aliens. I scanned the planet. There was a monument and it was an arena.
The weather was sunny. I found our robot's scouting place when we flew carefully. We landed on the ground. There were animals and birds. We looked around. XNR-1 piloted the starfighter with our robot back to Nyx.
I told to my members about the monument. They looked at each other and nodded. I checked my tablet. It showed that we were five miles from the monument. I told to my team about the length. We ran there until we found the monument.
The monument had four watch towers. We never have seen the big arena earlier. The arena looked like Colosseum in Ancient Rome, though it was bigger. It was possibly about power. The four towers were longer than the arena. Why did the aliens build the arena?
What would we do? I checked my tablet. It showed that there was a little house and we were eight miles away. I hoped that the owners would be nice. If they wouldn't be nice, we would leave. Iduao found some big and little footprints.
The footprints were very flesh. It was difficult to say where the aliens would exist, but Iduao sniffed something from the air. He signaled three living men. The cats sniffed better than the dogs. We nodded and then we followed Iduao to the trees carefully. He signaled us to freeze.
We watched the men, but we never have seen them earlier. The men were the reptilians. Their faces looked like the Gila monsters while they had the humanoid bodies with long tails. They had yellow skins. Their bodies were strongfats. Like Maximilian said, they were very big.
We thought that the men wore odd clothes. They had military armors. Their armors were mixed of Roman, Native American, African and Feudal Japanese. They had two big eyes. The eyes were greenishly yellow. We found two other dead teen reptilians and one who survived.

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
