《Starship Nyx》Chapter 14: Enemies and friends
Advertisement
We traveled in eight hundred light-years from the Solar System. The radar officer called after me.
"There is an alien and little starship, ma'am!" the radar officer said.
"Yellow alarm! How little is she?" I said.
"They fire!"
"Shield! Red alarm! Fire on will!"
We fired back. The alien starship became successfully hit twice without a shield. We managed to capture her with an electrical snare. I didn't know if the captain was a fool. Malin ran away. I wanted her to lead our attack crew.
The communications officer said that we got a video call. I nodded slowly. It showed instantly that it was a male red-skinned humanoid with three yellow eyes. He wore a rugged uniform, so he had to be responsible of the ship. His crew member beat the male nude slave. I became very angry.
"Sorry, we tested to fire," the humanoid said.
"Sorry, we tested to fire? What a weak excuse we have heard about! Come on!" I said.
"What have we done now?"
"You fired us without a reason and one of your crew members beat poor thing before us!"
Another male nude slave jumped forward the camera. Somebody shut off. I asked about the screen and the communications officer said that the idiot ordered the crew member to shut off. The captain didn't seem to understand that we would take over the alien starship soon. He was both irresponsible and immature. I never liked the idiotic captain.
The communications officer said later that we got a video call again. I shook my head slowly. That slave seemed to be nice. We would save him. I hated the fucking slavery. We waited for Malin.
Malin reported that she managed to take over the alien bridge. I asked her if she didn't see a nude man. She said no. Somebody had to have hid the nude man. I ordered Malin to ask if they hid him and she did it obediently. She apologized for her delay, but she reported about the happening.
The captain would pull some weapon from the box. Malin hit speedily the box. The bridge team realized that we had the power. They convinced their captain that they couldn't fight against the foes and they gave up! The slave stood up fast from his master, not the captain. Malin and her team looked at them.
We found the alien slaves in the prison. They didn't have any clothes. Their face was broken and their body was anemic. We gave the clothes to them. They became very happy to be free. We asked the slaves about their species.
The slaves only knew that their species called for vepoiws. They didn't know something about their species. We asked about their political system. They never heard either about their politics before. The captain knew possibly about their political system. One of the slaves told that he happened to heard something about the crown princess.
We investigated the alien starship. The vepoiws had just any weapons, not a laboratory. Hana and her team made an autopsy of the dead vepoiw. The evil vepoiws were in our prison. Malin looked into the main cabin. There were just mass tortured arts of the vepoiws.

Sophia and Malin would interrogate the captain. They would play good cop/bad cop. Andrew, Ava, Hana and me were at the other side of the interrogation room. There was a one-way mirror. The captain was nude and sat in the chair. I never wanted to meet the idiotic captain more.
It was showtime. Sophia opened the door. She was the good cop. The captain didn't seem to know about good cop/bad cop.
"I am Majoor Sophia Verbeke of United Earth Engineering Troops. What is your name?" Sophia asked.
The captain didn't answer. Sophia went to him.
"Come on! Say your name," Sophia said.
"My name is Zoi'un!" the captain answered.
"Nice name, Zoi'un!"
Sophia showed the picture of the art. Zoi'un rolled his eyes.
"No answers, Zoi'un? Or you enjoyed of torturing men, didn't?" Sophia asked.
Zoi'un didn't answer either. Malin opened aggressively the door, so he began to look worried. It was time that he would sing out.
"Okay, we need to know about your political system and your home planet, Zoi'un," Sophia said.
Zoi'un still didn't answer. Malin went to him and then she sat down on the deck. He became very distressed. The explosives engineer picked a syringe from her bag. It contained a black liquid. Zoi'un's testicles were monstrously big!
"I am Lieutenant Commander Malin Lind of Star Fleet. Tell about your political system and your home planet now!" Malin said.
"Can you stop her?" Zoi'un asked to Sophia.
"No, she decide here, Zoi'un. We have the same rank from different armed forces," Sophia said.
We trusted in Malin and Sophia. Sophia began to flirt with Zoi'un, so they looked at each other. He smiled.
"Nice try! I am asexual, so I don't trust in you women and men. Where are the men?" Zoi'un asked.
"But your third eye makes only the men so horny. My captain's best friend is a neurosurgeon and her colleague is an ophthalmic surgeon because they researched the body, Zoi'un," Malin said.
"You are a hag! My father will violate you women."
"Oh, I become afraid. Not."
"Not me either. Tell about your political system and your home planet now!" Sophia said.
Zoi'un didn't answer. Malin injected his testicle. He yelled.
"Tell about your political system and your home planet, or I will inject your last testicle," Malin said.
"I will tell," Zoi'un cried.
The government called for Yoai Uma. It was a bandit dictatorship. We surmised that the idiots were pirates. The vepoiws came from a nameless alpine planet. Their climate was strictly cold. Malin and me liked frigidity.
"So you attacked us earlier, huh? How many light-years far is your system?" Malin asked.
"My father will kill you! You can't look for our system!" Zoi'un said.
"I will inject your testicle. Answer!"
Malin showed the syringe.
"Are we in the same system?" Zoi'un asked.
"Yes," Malin said.
"Around one hundred light-years!"
"Good boy!"
I sent a message to the bridge. The bridge team got it. Malin injected the last testicle at once. The vepoiw yelled like a mad man. Sophia and Malin couldn't help but laugh. Zoi'un didn't understand what was funny.

"You didn't ask about the liquid. It is not hazardous, but it cleans the testicles," Sophia said.
"You tricked me!" Zoi'un said.
Malin thought about something. She smiled.
"Oh, right! Tell about your leader," Malin said.
"Go to Ado'qa!" Zoi'un said.
"Ado'qa? Oh, I understand what it means. It also means H-word on our home planet. But I have a kakologophobia. It means that I hate swearwords. Tell about your leader."
"Go to Ado'qa!"
"Bad boy! You don't have any choices."
"My father will kill you!"
Malin got an idea, slowly she picked a red revolver from her holster. Zoi'un never has seen the strange weapon before. Yes, it was big and new. It had a 12-round cylinder, thought it missed to have a hammer. Zoi'un laughed at Malin because the revolver was silly. She smiled big.
"Will we play Russian Roulette, Zoi'un?" Malin asked.
Zoi'un didn't understand what Malin meant to "Russian Roulette". She explained about the game. It was the first time to Zoi'un to become very surprised to hear about Russian Roulette. Malin removed eleven magnums.
"Will we play Russian Roulette, Zoi'un?" Malin asked again.
"My father will kill you! Go to Ado'qa!" Zoi'un said.
Malin rolled the cylinder, so she pointed against Zoi'un's right knee. He became shocked to see her. She triggered twice and it didn't happen. Zoi'un's face began to be wet.
"Why are you doing that?" Zoi'un wondered.
"Because I have the power over you. Tell about your leader now!" Malin said.
"Go to Ado'qa!"
Malin asked about the leader again and then Zoi'un said the same. She triggered slowly four times until he said quickly that the leader's name was Iyab Xi'yan. We began to become curious. Malin asked about Iyab. Zoi'un swore that he didn't know about his mighty and mysterious leader. However, he told that his father only knew.
Malin triggered every time, suddenly she hit the knee. Sophia and Malin laughed again. Zoi'un became surprised that it didn't hurt. He didn't understand what was funny.
"We believe in you. The magnum is a sleeping drug. I never would hurt you," Malin said.
"You tricked me again! I swear that my father will kill you!" Zoi'un said sleepily.
Zoi'un slept instantly. He messed with a wrong ship in a wrong system at a wrong time. We didn't feel sorry for him. I asked Hana about the third eye. She explained that Cunoa said that it could manipulate everything, not the persons.
We left the interrogation room. Hana warned the male guards about the third eye. The male guards became shocked to hear about the eye, but she also warned about the strength. I left them. The vepoiws were strange. I went to the bridge.
We traveled in eight hundred and fifty light-years from the Solar System. The radar officer called after me. I turned to him. He said that we had the different ship. The communications officer said abruptly that we got a video call. I nodded slowly.
It was another male vepoiw this time, but he also was different. He wore the traditional uniform. His uniform was like an African military uniform. He was very handsome!
"Dream by Al'anaw, I am Cepinoth Ja'riwi Oba'aw of Haba Qunoeo Fleet. We are not here to fight without looking for the idiotic bandit leader Iyab Xi'yan," the vepoiw said.
"Hello, I am Captain Mara Tan of United Earth Star Fleet. We have Zoi'un," I said.
"You are a woman. Zoi'un? How did you manage to capture him?"
I told about everything to Ja'riwi. He and his bridge team laughed.
"What an idiot! Did you also get him to say about Yoai Uma's place?" Ja'riwi asked hopefully.
"Why do you ask? Is it about the revenge?" I asked.
It became very quiet.
"No, we will save our crown princess from Yoai Uma. The idiotic 'government' plundered our planet. Our King is extremely powerless," Ja'riwi said.
"Yes, we got Yoai Uma's place. Can you tell about your political system and your home planet?" I asked.
The government called for Kingdom of Haba. It was an irenic kingdom. The vepoiws also came from another alpine planet and it named for Imojima. It was hard to find the bandits. I became angry to hear that they plundered the planet every weekend. The Kingdom of Haba fought against Yoai Uma in many years.
It sounded like vikings and mongols. I asked Ja'riwi about the reason. He didn't know, but it was strange about the king and Iyab. I asked him about the strangeness. He noticed that something was wrong of the king and Iyab because they irritated each other. It sounded like a feud.
Ja'riwi asked me about our political system and our home planet. I answered and then I asked about the women in service. The Kingdom of Haba was open for both women and men. Ja'riwi and the king hated the discrimination. I was happy to hear. We began to like each other.
Ja'riwi asked about our code. Yes, we gave our secret code to each other. Our code was Nyx and Ja'riwi's code was Olodawaia. I asked about Olodawaia. Ja'riwi told to me that she was a legendary heroine. It said that she protected Haba from the warriors.
I asked about the religion. Ja'riwi and his crew didn't know about the religion, but they didn't know either if the religion was ridiculous. They trusted in the modern science. I told to them about our human religion. Ja'riwi and his crew became surprised. I asked if we would leave.
We flew immediately to Yoai Uma. I wondered about the king and Iyab. Did they know each other? I thought that the king was strange. Why was he strange? I didn't know him.

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.

Path of the Stonebreaker
Femira spent her life stealing scraps and looting corpses just to survive another day. When she stumbles upon the chance to steal another's identity, she thinks she's found the ticket to an easy life. But she soon finds the glamour of the runewielder's hall hides as much peril as the bloodslick streets. Can she steal the greatest prize of all, the knowledge to reshape the earth, and make it out alive? Abandoned by his abusive father at the far reaches of the world, Daegan may not have the powers of his ancestors but he refuses to die in banishment. Will he make it back home in time to prevent a brewing war? ------------------- This is a gritty drama-driven, rambling tale that presents mysteries early on that the characters work to unravel throughout the story. It swings between action, drama, and sometimes some darker comedy. Warning: A whole lot of profanity, alcohol, drugs, implied violence, actual violence and mega-violence—the kind that involves knives sliding into eye sockets and brains spilling onto floors—the usual stuff, scenes of intimacy, mercenaries, pirates, lots of moral ambiguity, including a wizard that likes to make tea with the heat sucked from his victim's bodies and a heap of world-ending monsters ready to eat people. _______________ Expectations: Updates every Monday and Thursday. Chapters will be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. I'm Irish and write in "Irish English" which is to say that I don't use much of the letter "z"

An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
