Desiree didn’t used to indulge her compulsions. There was a time, years ago, when she ignored them. Of course, that was before her grandmother came to visit on the night of the winter festivities. That year changed everything. Desiree’s home world had festivities for every season, but winter was the harshest season of all, which meant people took the winter season’s traditions more seriously than the others. No one outright said it, but it was understood that to disregard the winter traditions meant to bring bad luck to the household. Or workplace. Desiree lived at her workplace, as did most of the female staff of the factory.
Desiree’s grandmother didn’t respect festivities. She’d also raised Desiree then dumped her at the factory once she came of age. The factory was a front for a seedier business that society at large turned a blind eye toward. Men had their vices. The factory’s working staff catered to them, Desiree included. The factory’s winter festival was meant to be a reprieve, where all the female workers could get together and have a party with whatever decorations and food they desired. It had become tradition to weave yarn into puppets that resembled the bosses and sew leftover gears into dress hems, shaping the designs into flowers with thorns. Desiree was humming a festival tune, stitching a thorn into place, when her grandmother invaded their space.
“A word,” said Desiree’s grandmother.
“How kind of you to join in our festivities,” said Desiree brightly. She stitched another thorn and ignored the compulsion to toss the needle at the far side of the room. Silly, silly. There was no reason to throw sharp objects. No reason at all. But the strangest thing was the compulsions were worse when there wasn’t a reason for them. “Hello, grandmother.”

“You’d rather I speak here, in front of your coworkers?”
“How’s your latest painting?”
“Misdirection will get you nowhere. I’ll be heard regardless of where you are.”
Desiree put her stitching aside and fiddled with the needle. That spot near the door, at the far end of the factory from where she sat, looked more and more appealing. Her grandmother stared down at her, then knelt to meet her at eye level.
“Throw it,” said her grandmother.
“There’s nothing but silliness behind the urge.”
“You know better than that.”
Because Desiree didn’t throw the needle, a furious man got inside unhindered.

Mycology
Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!

Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. A normal guy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Adding a cover made by someone I connected through wattpad: @DameCarnelian. Just a warning, it is not an accurate representation. The ship is not Raka's ship so avoid any confusion in that regard.

His chances of survival don't look good. With every day that goes by, Ethan grows weaker. They set off to the Ashen Lands, where even the self-proclaimed gods fear to tread. He is quickly transported to the tiny nowhere town of Oxbow while it is under attack by goblins. Alex must learn to navigate his way through a fantasy world if he is to survive, and navigate the vague gamelike mechanics if he wants to thrive. Is it the things he does that affects his character sheet, or his character sheet that affects the things he can do? This is a soft LitRPG Isekai. By that I mean, the MC is technically from our world, and RPG system lacks crunch. MC will never become over powered, and should fail... alot.
