《Outlaw Teens》Chapter 12

It was a regular evening inside Diamond Square, the busiest place on the entire planet. Pedestrians were walking on the streets surrounded by skyscrapers. Not one of them was less than 1 kilometre in height. Hologram boards hung from the building advertising all kinds of latest gadgets.
Suddenly, the hologram boards stopped displaying the products. All of them turned black for a moment and then a boy appeared on them. He was recording the video from the top of a building. His hood and scarf kept his face hidden.
"Greetings, people of Mecca." The boy on the hologram video said.
The crowd went in a panic. Some turned on their Bandphones to record it but the same video was coming up on their phones too.
"The government has told all of you that the Rebels are defeated. However, that's wrong. We're still alive. The government has also told you about all the inhumane things we had done. One time, the President declared that we're not kind to kids which is totally absurd because most of us are kids like me. The President got our parents killed. Does he expect us to remain silent after it?" The teenager took a pause before speaking further. "But who are we? The people call us Rebels and indeed that's what we were back then. But slowly, we turned into Outlaws. There's a difference between the two. The Rebels is just a place where all those who had their life taken away by injustice go to live a new life."
"That was a brilliant job. Let's go now." Bogart said to Judy.
Since the last few hours, they had been roaming everywhere around Mecca so that Judy could hack all the screens to display Zack's live video.
"I have one more surprise to show." Judy said. "Get us to the president building."

Within fifteen minutes, they had reached the president's building despite the distance being almost a thousand kilometres.
The president's building was huge, with a twisted design and glasses made from Kerb that shone from distance. The spike of the building was replaced by a statue of the president holding the flag of Mecca - Purple background symbolising 'Royal' and a machine part symbolising 'development'.
However, the most interesting part about the building right now was the hologram board that usually displayed the latest programs launched by President. Judy had hacked it so that it was showing - Support the Rebels.
"What do you say?" Judy smirked.
"You impressed me once again. Right now, I would have paid anything to see the President's face." Bogart chuckled.
"Let's see how the others are doing their job." Judy said, calling Billy.
Judy's phone projected Billy, Drew and many others spray painting 'Support the Rebels' on the walls of buildings.
"I love the job." Billy told Judy. "It reminds me of what teenagers like us used to do in ancient times."
"Shut up, Billy." Judy muttered. "We didn't have the time or money to build screens so we went with the old way."
"And that pleases me. Anyway, we have lots of work to do. Bye." Billy ended the call.
"Our plan is going just the way we planned it to be." Judy said with a sigh.
"And what shall we do now? We have to wait for more than two hours before Zack's speech ends and we can start our other plans." Bogart asked.
"Zack has prepared his speech well, hasn't he?" Judy asked.
"He had been fussing about it all day. Surely it is good."
"Just stop our car somewhere and listen to him."

"As you wish." Bogart ordered the AI to stop at Diamond Square.
"People of Mecca, you tell me, is it wrong for people to live a peaceful life. Tell me what else could we have done with police on our trail? Rebels is just a sanctuary for all those who are wanted by the law." Zack was speaking when Judy and Bogart arrived at Diamond Square.
He spoke for two more hours, continuing to justify himself and telling the reality behind all the false accuses put on them. Finally, he came to the main part.
"So people of Mecca, before I conclude this speech, here's one last part. We are weak now. The attack on us has reduced us to just a few. But we're still not stopping. And to end the injustice, we need your support. Whenever we are need of help, I hope that a few of you can fight with us."
With that, all the screens turned black again. Judy tapped a few buttons on his bandphone and the boards started displaying ads again and all the bandphones turned normal too.
"That's one job done. Let's go see Zack now and then we can carry out our final job for the day." Bogart stated.
When they landed their car on the roof of their apartment building, they found Zack consuming Hydration Pills. Mecca had no water of its own. Since importing water from other planets turned out to be highly expensive, scientists developed those pills. The pills could satisfy their thirst but weren't as relieving as drinking actual water.
"You were awesome!" Judy said, hugging him.
"Thanks," Zack said, pulling apart. "Gosh! No matter how much pills I consume, my throat still remains dry."
"You need real water then." Bogart said, turning on his bandphone and placing an order for a water bottle.
"Whoa! That's gonna cost a lot." Zack reminded.
"And you deserve it." Bogart smiled.
A drone appeared above Bogart's head and delivered the metal bottle which was tightly sealed.
"Ha! That's much better." Zack said, taking a gulp from the bottle. The cold refreshing water sure enough exhausted all the thirst as it went down his throat. "Feels so fresh and real. How lucky our ancestors were to get to drink it ten times every day."
"Anyway, thanks for that." Zack stated, "But we're already short on money. How will we sustain like this?"
"We're gonna commit a robbery." Bogart declared.
"A robbery?" Zack's tone clearly stated that he wasn't a big fan of that idea.
"Don't worry, we'll rob the Finance Minister. All those money he took for himself instead of using for the development of the Mecca, we're gonna take it."
