Chapter 3

I woke up covered in sweat. I don't have nightmares every night, but when I do I always wake up tired. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face then removed the sheets from my bed and tossed them in the laundry basket. I did my workout then made some toast.

I got dressed and left for the train station. I met up with Mia at the stop near the school.

Mia:"I talked to grandfather this morning and guess what."

Cyrus:"What?"

Mia:"He said we could help out with some of his work."

Cyrus:"What exactly."

Mia:"He said I couldn't help catch shadow, but I could do some small jobs."

The supreme is tasked with running the peace keeping agencies with in the city and is a representative of the omegas. Usually a new supreme isn't picked until the previous one has grown to weak to fulfill his duties so this is the first time a supreme will be retiring. It won't be long now before the tournament starts in order to find his replacement.

Cyrus:"What kind of jobs will they be."

Mia:"I don't know yet. He said he'll find one for us today."

Cyrus:"This is just more work for me. I'll do it, but your not getting that ice cream now."

Mia:"That's not fair!"

Cyrus:"Then I'll get you some today only."

Mia:"....Fine."

Mia said while pouting. I had a hard time paying attention in class since I felt so tired. During team combat class I told the teacher I wasn't feeling well and went to lie down in the infirmary. I slept through most of the day and Mia came to get me after school.

Mia:"You better not do this to often or your rank may drop."

Cyrus:"There weren't any ranked battles today right?"

Mia:"Not today but they could have given us a surprise one."

Cyrus:"I won't do it again."

Mia:"Ok. So I want chocolate with a scoop of vanilla."

Cyrus:"Is that all."

Mia:"And sprinkles."

We entered an ice cream parlor near the school. I order our ice cream and we are it on the way to her house. I wasn't looking forward to helping out the supreme, but I needed to go over to Mia's house anyway for some info. She let me into her house and led me to her room.

Mia:"I'll go see if grandfather is home."

Mia left the room and I sat down in a desk chair. She really liked to match with her hair color so pink had a strong presence in her room.

Mia:"It looks like he's not home yet, but I brought drinks."

Mia handed me a cup and I took a sip.

Cyrus:"I need to borrow your bathroom so excuse me."

I got up and left the room, but I didn't go to the bathroom. I entered her grandfathers study and glided over to his computer. I reached my hand toward it and wire like tentacles extended from it then attached to the computer.

Cyrus:"Scan for omegas in the database with memory manipulation abilities."

After a few seconds the tentacles disconnected from the computer and retreated back into my hand.

Cyrus:"So it's only three."

I quickly left the room and entered the bathroom where I washed my hands then returned to Mia's room.

Mia:"Welcome back."

Mia was sitting on her bed and I went back to the desk chair. I started attending Crehon High in order to get information on omegas so I was quite pleased when I became the pair to the supremes granddaughter. His personal computer holds records on all known omegas.

I now had three new targets for shadow. The two of us talked until we heard the door open then close. Mia jumped up and ran out of the room, but I just sat there sipping on my drink. She eventually came back to the room.

Mia:"Grandfathers ready to give us a job."

I got up and followed Mia out of the room. I always felt a little nervous whenever I had to meet the supreme and now was no exception. We entered his study where he was sitting in his chair behind the desk.

His hair had turned gray and he kept it pushed back. He wore a gray suit with a white shirt and it was obvious that he was very well built under that suit. His eyes were a deep blue that mesmerized you and his face had very few wrinkles. I can say that he was quite attractive for a man his age.

Supreme:"So Cyrus you'd like to help with some of my work too."

Cyrus:"Yes sir. I want to do whatever it takes to help make the lives of us omegas easier."

I hated myself a little for saying that since I would actually love to make things more difficult for them.

Supreme:"I can't give you anything too hard."

Cyrus:"It's fine anything will work."

Mia:"I want to take shadow down!"

Supreme:"That is a job for someone else. Under no circumstances are you to try and apprehend shadow alone."

Mia:"I know."

Cyrus:"I promise that I will stop her if she does try."

Supreme:"Thank you for watching over her."

Cyrus:"No problem we are a pair after all."

Mia:"I said I wouldn't!"

Supreme:"Now on to the job. Tomorrow I would like the two of you to escort an omega for me."

Mia:"Where to?"

Supreme:"They're new here and would like a tour of the city."

Cyrus:"So we just need to show them around."

Supreme:"Yes."

Mia:"That's too easy. I want to find a rebel base or stop criminals."

Supreme:"There are no rebel bases here in Atlantis and crime rates are down. Shadow is this cities only problem."

Cyrus:"Where will we meet up with the person we're suppose to escort?"

Supreme:"I'll send the address and time to your phone."

Cyrus:"Do you need my number?"

Supreme:"No I'll get it from Mia. You can go now I have work to do."

I saw him booting up his computer as Mia and I left the room. We hung out in her room for a while then went outside to do some sparring. I decided to leave before dinner since I didn't want to eat with the supreme. I made it home and had a quick meal.

I changed my clothes and put on a hoodie then left for a nearby park. I had three new targets with memory manipulation abilities and I could feel that this time I would find something out about the attack seven years ago.
