Chapter 2

Mia and I have all of our classes together since the two of us are a pair. This school Crehon High matches their students up to form pairs who usually fight together. Matches between all omegas in the school are held every year to determine your rank. Everyone has two rankings one for their pair and an individual one.

The rankings range from F to SSS which makes 21 different ranks. Mia and I have a pair ranking of CC which is close to the middle. Mia's individual rank is CCC while mine is C. Today we have a check up to see if there have been any new developments in our abilities.

Health Teacher:"Ok Cyrus you seem fine, but I think you need to get some more sleep."

Cyrus:"I've been spending a lot of time training lately, but I'll be sure to get some rest tonight."

I walked over to the next teacher who was going to test my abilities and he looked at my student ID then pulled up my info on a tablet.

Teacher:"Ok so your ability is peak human potential."

Cyrus:"Yes."

Teacher:"That just barely makes you an omega. It says increased strength, speed, durability, stamina and all of your senses."

Cyrus:"Yes."

Teacher:"Ok here."

He gave me a bar to bend that would measure my strength. I bent it and he took a look.

Teacher:"This is a little more than peak human potential. No matter how hard an alpha worked he could never get this level of strength. That's enough to ahead."

I was done with my examination so I went to wait in the gym with the other students who were done.

Mia:"Hey Cyrus over here!"

Mia was waving at me so that I would join her so I did. She was sitting alone in her gym clothes which is what everyone was wearing.

Cyrus:"So you finished already. Did anything change with your abilities?"

Mia:"My scales got stronger."

Mia has the ability to harden her skin which gives her a reptilian look with scales all over her body. Even her pink hair gets scaly.

Cyrus:"That's good."

I sat down next to her and we talked for a while before we were finally sent back to class. We learn all the basics, but cultivation classes are the main focus at this school. We cultivate our abilities to become the strongest we can in preparation for graduation.

Once an omega graduates they are sent away from Atlantis to fight on a real battlefield. The pairs are sent together to increase chances of survival. Most of the world is still a war zone and only some cities have returned to normal. Alpha rebels rarely ever make it into the omega cities so places like Atlantis are pretty safe areas.

The war has continued thanks to omegas who don't believe in ruling over alphas. The omegas also don't use guns since they see it as an alphas weapon, but swords are ok. I laugh a little every time I hear a stupid omega got himself shot to death.

Fire is the most common ability among omegas. I don't understand why, but a lot of people have it. The principle here at Crehon High has a rare canceling ability which allows him to destroy any other abilities.

He can stop a fire ball, destroy Mia's scales or prevent a teleporter from leaving, but he has to have direct contact to stop a teleporter. It's not uncommon to find two people with the same abilities. The current supreme has a mimic ability which allows him to use the abilities that he's seen which is a super rare ability.

Mia:"My grandfathers not going to be home today so can I come over to your place and cook for you?"

Cyrus:"Sure I love eating your cooking."

*I don't have any targets tonight so I guess it doesn't matter if she comes over.*

Mia doesn't like being alone so whenever her grandfather stays out for business she likes to come over and eat dinner with me. She found out that I usually just pop something in the microwave to eat and decided that she would cook when she comes over.

Today she took the train home with me. I live in an apartment complex with two rooms and one bath. One room is my bedroom and the other is my workout room. I have no pictures in my house and no kind of decoration. The couch and table in the living room are black and I have a flat screen in front of them. I unlocked the front door and we entered.

Mia:"I'll start cooking right away."

She ran off to the kitchen and threw her bag onto my couch. I went to my room and put my bag up then changed. When I checked on her in the kitchen she was wearing an apron that she left here for days like this.

Mia:"You can go watch tv until I finish."

Cyrus:"Sure."

I went to the living room and turned on the tv. I didn't stay on any channel for long and Mia eventually finished cooking so I joined her at the table to eat.

Mia:"I heard that shadow attacked someone again last night."

Cyrus:"Really? I didn't hear about it."

Mia:"He broke into a software company, but all he did was attack and kill the guards."

Mia clinched her fists.

Mia:"He's a murderer that needs to be brought to justice! He probably works for the rebels."

Cyrus:"They'll catch him eventually."

I said while I took another bite.

Mia:"How many people will he kill before he's caught!"

Cyrus:"We're just students so we should leave shadow to the adults. I've told you before that if you try to go after him yourself I will stop you."

Mia:"If we work together we can beat shadow!"

Cyrus:"No. He's killed many strong omegas even when they worked with their pair. I won't let you do something stupid and get yourself killed."

Mia:"I don't want to watch anymore people die!"

Cyrus:"Then I'll help if your grandfather says it's alright."

Mia:"You know he would never let me go after shadow."

Cyrus:"Exactly. If the supreme says you shouldn't then you shouldn't."

Mia:"You always bring grandfather into this."

Cyrus:"Because I know your a grandfathers girl."

Mia:"Fine.....I'll give up, but you owe me."

Cyrus:"Sure."

Mia:"I want ice cream everyday for a week."

Cyrus:"You'll get fat like that."

Mia:"I'll just increase my workout."

We finished eating and I walked Mia to the train station.

Mia:"See you tomorrow Cyrus."

Cyrus:"Good night Mia."

She got on the train and I went back home. I did a light workout before lying down.

*I need to get some information on omegas with powers related to memories. Someone must have erased the memories of the men who attacked the lab.*

I had the complete list of all the omegas involved in the attack seven years ago, but all of the ones I killed so far don't remember it. The most important people are still unknown and that's who actually ordered the attack. I fell asleep and only saw nightmares that night.Back to Main Page
