《Blaze》Chapter 11 - I Don't Mind

The caravan made camp for the night and Rhett began to search for Serah, looking forward to an evening of wonder and magic.
“Hey!” Rhett says enthusiastically, finding Serah near a campfire. In his hand was a bottle of wine and he was about to offer her a glass when he remembers something. Damn, I forgot to ask her name! Idiot! He thinks, slightly pissed. “Ugh, sorry, what was your name again?” He asks, somewhat embarrassed.
A scoff is heard from behind Rhett. “Doesn't even know her name; what a joke. This guy bothering you, Serah?” A deep, masculine voice says as he approaches. In his hands were two glasses, already filled with wine.
“No, he isn’t bothering me.” Serah says with a mischievous smile. “Come have a seat, Rhett. Georgio was just telling me how he hunted an ogre a few years ago.” She says, taking the glass of wine from Georgie before taking a sip, hiding a smile behind her cup.
“Well, yeah. Guys like me only take these caravan jobs casually while we’re traveling. I’m not like these other guys. When we’re in a place with lots of coin, my mercenary group will take on all sorts of job. Last year, we took on an ogre. It was one tough bastard, almost took down one of my guys before I cleaved my axe in its neck. Apparently their tusks are some sort of luxury aphrodisiac. I actually have some with me. Haven’t quite gotten the chance to try it out yet.” Georgio says while looking hungrily at Serah’s body, ignoring Rhett who was slightly red in the face.
What’s wrong with caravan jobs? Rhett thinks, slightly pissed.
“Oh my!” Serah says, cooling her face with her hand. “What were you waiting for? A special lady to stroll into your life?” She asks with a blush on her cheeks.

Georgio smiles lustfully, imagining the meal he would have later. Suddenly, he looks over to Rhett and frowns. Why is this dude still here? He thinks, somewhat pissed. “Something like that.” Georgio says, feeling the mood was slightly off.
“What about you, Rhett? What sort of beasts have you conquered?” Serah asks, urging Rhett on. God, I hope he has savage story to tell. All the testosterone in the air… Oh my… Serah thinks, getting hot and bothered.
“All sorts of beasts. I’ve relaxed somewhat over the years but when I was young, I fought all sorts of things. I once killed a Giant Black Widow who was terrorizing the town I grew up in. It came in the night and would steal livestock to prey on, taking them to a nearby cave. Anyways, the town finally had enough. Paid me to go in and slaughter it. I was young and dumb, so that thing almost got me, but eventually I pierced my sword into its underside and slashed it as far as I could. The shrieks of that thing! It keeps me up at night.” Rhett says, painting a beautiful picture.
Georgio frowns. Fuck, that was a nice story. He thinks, pissed off but impressed.
Serah gulps, her face red. I need it. I need it now. She thinks, almost unable to control herself. “Say, it’s getting quite cold out here. What do you think of the three of us finding a tent to share for the night?” Serah says, somewhat anxiously. Damn, I think I overshot! I should have just settled for one! But they’re both here! God, I hope they say yes! She thinks frantically and somewhat desperately.
“Both of us?” Rhett asks with wide eyes, bewildered.
“Both of us?” Georgie asks, somewhat shocked and unsure how to proceed.

Serah gulps. “Yes, both of you. Gotta try new things while you can, am’right?” She says with an awkward chuckle. Oh no. I’m losing them. She thinks, cringing at herself and her eventual failure.
“Nah, I’m not down for that. Actually, why are you leading this dude on when the two of us was clearly going to happen? Is this what you do? Whore yourself around while traveling as a caravan guard? Eff that. On second thought, you’re not worth it, Serah.” Rhett says before getting up and leaving with his bottle of wine.
Geogio’s eyes widen. He hadn’t thought of any of that. Suddenly he looks at Serah, a little repulsed. “You aren’t… You know… Sick down there, are you?” He asks, hesitant, but willing to go through with it if she was clean.
Serah’s eyes widen, fury on her face. “You know what! Fuck you, Georgio! Go fuck yourself tonight!” She exclaims before throwing wine into Georgio’s face and storming off.
Georgio watches her leave, bewildered. “Actually, I don’t mind even if it isn’t clean! Come back!” He calls out, but was ignored.

The journey has just begun, and the hardest step is always the first one. ~ This is my attempt at both the Xianxia/Wuxia and Portal/Isekai genre of fiction that I love, and the means to provide a story set in such guidelines, while distancing myself from some of the more common tropes. I do hope you enjoy the story I shall endeavor to tell. ~ Average post between 1000 - 3000 words. This is a work in progress, and will be edited and adjusted over time.
