“We're just gonna check to make sure you have no broken bones” the nurse said, I nodded.
“Mr. Guerrero you were very smart to try to turn away, your injuries could have been way worse.” She said
“Come with me we're gonna take an X-ray of your body” she said I got up off the bed and followed her into another side room. I stood behind a big machine as she took pictures of my bones.
“I'm gonna go get this from another room, if you like you can go sit down” she said leaving the room. I went back and day down fidgeting with my hands. I never liked doctors offices I don't know why exactly. I stood up and went to the window nearby. Down below in the parking lot I see Alex, Brandi, Mia and Lindsey. I looked at Lindsey for a few before the nurse came back in.
“Mr. Guerrero you have a broken rib that was not healed properly, do you know how you broke it?”
It was yard time, Isaac was talking to a few other images as I ran the track. I saw a group of guys sitting at a table I looked at them for a few before looking away I came around the track a few times before a group walked in front of me blocking my path.
“Excuse me” I said trying to get past them.
“Hold up boy” he said I looked at him, his eyes were cold and his brown hair covered his left eye. He had a scar on his neck as he stared down at me.
“Can I help you” I said coldly.
“yeah, I'm Jason and we need to have a little talk.” He said.
“Has anyone ever told you it's rude to stare” he said getting closer.
“Has anyone told you your breath stinks” I said.

“That's it” he replied punching me in the stomach I hunched over in pain. He hit me again in the rib I heard a crack as I fell over onto the ground. He kicked me in the back I stayed where I was.
“Hey break it up!!” A guard yelled running towards it. Jason walked away leaving me on the ground. I coughed and spit out a bit of blood.
Present…
“No…..”
“I don't remember how” I said
“Ok, well you're all good, a little bruised here and there but you should be fine. She said wrapping up the small cut on my arm.
“Thank you” I said standing up
“No problem, here's your phone surprisingly it didn't get damaged.” She said handing me my phone”
“Thank you” I said leaving the office and heading to the bottom floor. I walked outside of the hospital, Alex saw me and ran over to me hugging me.
“You asshole you scared me” he said
“Dude I'm ok” I said.
“Do you have any broken bones?” Amber asked I shook my head. I looked at Lindsey she smiled slightly. She looked so beautiful she was wearing a pair of black jeans with a batman T-shirt.
“Go talk to her” Alex whispered in my ear. I slowly walked over to her.
“Hi” I said
“Hi” she laughed. She looked at the bandage on my arm.
“Its nothing bad” I said. She smiled up at me hugging me.
“You need to be more careful” she whispered.
“I'm never careful princess” I whispered back. She laughed pulling away, it was starting to get dark as I looked up at the sky.
“Can we go home?” I asked looking at Alex.
“Yeah, I'll drop you off, I'm staying and Brandi's tonight”
“Ugh just make sure you don't fuck to loud” Amber said laughing getting in the car.

“Amber!” Brandi yelled getting in the car to. I slid it next to Lindsey and Amber as they drove me home. It was getting later by the second, as I sat at the kitchen table looking at my father's letter. It was silent till Ms. Lane spoke.
“Zeke, did your mom ever tell you about your first few steps” Mrs. lane said sitting down next to me with a cup of tea.
“No” i said looking at my hands.
“When you were little everyone in your neighborhood your age was already walking, except you but your mom said, he'll walk.. When he has somewhere to go” she said smiling.
“You and Alex have been best friends for ever and one day before you even become friends, a little girl came up to Alex and stole his favorite toy. You stood up and you didn't walk you ran over to them and you took the toy out of her hands and gave it back to Alex. You.. Alex.. Chelsi all became friends that day, you don't run after that you didn't even walk until your mom told you to, you got right up and walked to her. She smiled every time you walked and run.” Mrs. Lane said
“But, you can't always run Zeke, not from this”
“Why?”
“Because he's your father and no matter what always will be” she said standing up kissing the top of my head.
“Goodnight Zeke”
“Goodnight Jennell.” I said she left the room going back upstairs a tear slowly fell down my cheek. I wiped it away quickly I grabbed my phone pit of my pocket. I looked through my contacts and clicked on Lindsey's name calling her, it rang for a second.
“Zeke.. Hey” she said.
“Did I wake you?” I asked.
“No I've been up, what's up?”
“No.. Nothing”
“Ok ok”
“I was wondering if, maybe I can come over for a few?”
“Y...yeah”
“I don't have to”
“No Zeke it's ok really, I'll see you in a few.” I grabbed my jacket and left o didn't have my motorcycle so I walked to her house, it wasn't a long walk only about 15 minutes. I came to her window and knocked quietly. She opened it smiling.
“I have a door you know”
“ yeah but this is more fun” I said laughing climbing into her window.
“Zeke are you ok?” She asked once I stood up and looked at her. My eyes were slightly red from crying.
“Oh.. Yeah I'm fine” I said. She looked at me putting her hand on my cheek softly.
“Tell me the truth”
“...... My dad sent me a letter.. He wanted to talk to me. What if I can't do it what if I flip out on him and make him hate me.” I said starting to cry again. It was hard for me to cry in front of people I feel weak if I did but with Lindsey I felt ok to cry. She hugged me tightly slowly rocking side to side.
“It's ok Zeke, I’m here for you” she whispered.
“I can't let him hurt me again” I whispered.
“I know” she said.
“Come here” she said walking to her bed she sat down leaning against the back wall. I crawled.onto the bed laying my head on her lap. She ran her fingers through my hair.
“You're gonna make me fall asleep” I said quietly
“I'm ok with that”
“Ms. Lane doesn't… Doesn't know I'm here..” I mumbled my eye lids keep getting heavier.
“shh I'll call her.” She said.
“Lindsey…”
“Yeah??”
“goodnight my Princess”
“..... Goodnight my prince” she whispered.

Is It Too Late To Move My Lair?
A legendary dragon... It has been told in the stories for hundreds of years. Some say it keeps a mountain of treasure in its cave, some say it is a vicious beast, some say it protects the village nearby, some claim it can grant their wishes, and some just think it's nothing more than a fairytale. He is not. The dragon is very real, although he isn't bothered by what people think of him in the slightest. He also doesn't have a grand treasure, nor does he grant wishes, like a magical genie. He is not interested in eating humans either. And as for protecting them… well. This is the story of the time before the legends, how they came to life and a dragon in the quest of his snooze. In a nutshell, this is a simple, light-hearted story with a dragon in it. What I have in mind is a relatively short one compared to most of the works on this site, but we'll see where it goes. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so please be patient and kind in pointing out mistakes. As for the posting schedule... let's say it will be sporadic. Hope you enjoy reading, as much as I do while writing it… THE STORY IS NOT DROPPED, JUST SLOW ON THE UPDATES. Cover art by Nane, aka me. (Cross-posted on Scribble Hub.)
