"Mother is so unfair!
My sisters go around all the Worlds and Planes and I'm stuck here!
They bring me all these beautiful stories and I need to turn them into books that no one reads!
I think I'll stop writin- Ouch! Wait Mama stop-Ouch! I'll write-Ouch! I said I'll write, you will make me stupid if you hit my head so hard!"
-Bee May, the faery of knowledge
"The Faery Queen is a meanie-Ouch!"
After the carovan departed the village returned to its normality... Almost.
The day Fianna's and Sidon's child woke up they noticed he didn't sleep so Fianna spent her night with the child and the day after was really tired. When Sidon noticed the cranky mood of his wife and that the child didn't seem tired at all. He took some rope, pebbles, sticks and made a rudimentary game for a baby and brought his wife to their bedding.
The snow came and went, Mary's curse did show up from time to time, someone slipped on ice, a handle broke and the stew almost spewed on the ground, some other even stranger events happened but the villagers united and supported each others.
Mary's child Annabelle, a beautiful little girl was born when the heat was near. To Todd's dismay Fianna and Mary became best friends. Mary joined the caretakers, with a child coming it was the most obvious choice. Light work, some cleaning, bringing food around and taking care of the children of the villagers busy on theirs duties. Mary was under Fianna's supervision and she got saved by the older woman different times, as both of them were new mothers they hit it off easily.
The next snow Fianna taught her Little Wolf to speak, they discovered he didn't need to eat or sleep. He would get tired if he moved too much but eating would replenish that energy, he would sleep if he felt too tired. As everything that ends into the little pup's mouth turns into energy, he could eat anything and waste nothing. Making his mom really glad to not have to clean him at home, she already had to clean the other childs during her caretakers duty.

While growing Little Wolf sprouted some red tufts, still his aspect and more importantly his eyes scared the villagers. With Sidon's guidance his eyes were still strange but weren't as predatory and, with both of his partents reputations the villagers accepted him as one of them.
When both Annabelle and Little Wolf had lived three snows, they were playing togheter and Annabelle tripped on a pebble covered with wet moss, she skinned her knee a little and was crying. While Mary was fussing over her daughter and was scared about Annabelle inheriting her curse Little Wolf took the pebble that made his first friend cry, showed it to her and then ate it. That brought a smile to the little girl face but Mary made a scene that got quelled by Fianna's soothing words.
Five snows passed and Little Wolf was Annabelle's protector, the clumsy and slighly unlucky girl had the strange boy always fussing around her and defending her from the things that made her life miserable.
After a child lived for ten snows he started helping with the caretakers business, then growing he would try the others jobs so that he coud see what he was good at and do his best to support the village his way.
While clumsy Annabelle just followed in unlucky Mary's footsteps and became a caretaker, for Little Wolf it was a little harder because he was good at everything!
Well not everything... caretaking was boring: cleaning, making food and bringing it around, taking care of the pens was fun but the animals were scared of him so he couldn't do it!
But he could be a fisherman, his reflexes were fast enought to catch fish without using nets like the others.
Or he could be a scout! Stalking around for tracks and finding preys was so fun! Traps making was less fun... But he could catch hares just by running at them, that should count for something!

And then the hunters! Mother Fianna said he should become the First Hunter like Father Sidon but being a hunter is boring, just training with bow and spears all day, then watching over the walls hoping something happens. The scouts would find menaces early and tell the hunters, then they would have something do to and resolve the problem.
Little Wolf decided he'll become the First Hunter! Scouts are more fun but aunty Brielle would give him strange looks from time to time and grumpy Todd hated him because he was father Sidon's child. And, even if Father Sidon was scary Mother Fianna was terrifying if you didn't obey what she told you to do!

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

Now we follow his actions and their consequences in a brand new world where he causes mayhem and panic without meaning to. Will he stabilise and be a new kind of dungeon?
