《No Strings Attached [Rewritten]》Ch 2: The Melancholy of Satan
Advertisement
*Sigh*, another eventful day of being me. Those fucking heroes and their dumb way to use magic. Who needs to chant spells when you can just think of the spell and the magic just happens. I want to explore out of my territory, but I know those fucking heroes will see me and try to kill me with their, fireballs and holy light saying shit like, " I shall slay you & end your reign of terror" or " I will be the next hero, so die for me". All those heroes fucking care about is wealth, fame and having a harem of women/men. They have more evil intentions then me, and I am Satan for the love of me.
I explore the dungeon that I live in, and not that BDSM stuff those low-ranks love. I travel to my treasury and as usually its large, shiny, vunerable and useless. Why do those low-ranks give me these when my race has no use for gold, silver and copper. Do they think my people use their system of currency? Us demons are more modern and classy, we use paper bills and magic banks as the basis of our economy. We got the idea from a low-rank I once captured, she was afraid that I would rape her or something, which I didn't. She says she was summoned by God which was insane to think that he would stoop that low to defeat me.
I then walk to the dining room in which my loyal servants start to prepare food for me. Unlike the low-ranks, we use top quality ingredients to make our food, even for the poor of our race. Though I admit, some of thier food are delicous, most of thier chefs are really lazy and put in no effort to cook it, I guess quanity over quality. My chefs cook me an S-rank boar with some griffin eggs on the side.

Description
The ruler of the Demons and such. Although he is very powerfful, he can sometimes be very lazy.
He calls humans and sub-raceless demons low-ranks and all other races mortal-ranks. [No Further information about this]
Because he thinks himself as evil, he tends to swear a lot but does nothing to help his case about this.
If he is a monster his rank would be SSS. His win-loss against me:8-10.
- (─‿‿─)
God, why does he do this to me. He always thinks he is better than me just because I lost two battles against him. Anyway, it's time for me to hang out in the village, my people are waiting.
*Satan, come to the throne room please*
*Why?*
*It's an emergency so come quick.*
I ran back to the throne room and confront my colleague. His name was Lucifer. He has assisted me through many battles and he helped with planning our defense and attacks against the low-ranks. I do not know much about him since he only joined me for the war against low-ranks so we don't talk much.

"Whats the emergency Lucifer?"
"I'll tell you but first, do you want 5 Greshes?"
"Sure." I said jokingly. I know he wouldn't do this since he his greedy when it comes to money.
"Well to bad, we are out."
"WHAT!"
"Well, we aren't exactly out, it's just that we are on a tight budget."
"How could this happen?!"
"War funds my lord, war funds." I immediately knew what he meant. Due to much more frequent attacks from the low-ranks we've been having to spend more money on recruitment and supporting villages. The city couldn't stand a chance against the low-ranks if this continues. How do I solve this? How do you manage this? How do the low-ranks do it?!!
"We however have 3 solutions my lord." Lucifer exclaimed
"What are they?!", I'm intrigued and slightly worried.
"Solution 1: We stop funding the villages and raise taxes." Lucifer explains. This is a solution I don't like. I try my best to help the people and to not be a tyrant to them.
"Solution 2: We force some of the villagers to take part in the war." I also don't like the sound of it. The image of my people being taken away from their families will haunt my mind.
"And the last solution?" I ask anxiously.
"We summon our own hero."
"What do you mean?"
"I've learned that God has been killing people from a place called 'Earth' and bringing their souls and minds here, while also giving them cheat abilities."
"So, in order to resist the low-ranks, we have to summon our own hero?"
"Well not summon, more like intercept. While god is bringing the soul and mind over, we'll bring it to a different vessel."
"Well, sounds good enough. LET'S DO THIS SHIT!"

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
