I don't believe you've been taught about the elements yet. There are 26 elements, separated into reality, existence, and nature elements. These elements are the basis for all magic, and define core parts of our world. Reality elements include darkness, light, time, space, sound, gravity, and dust. Dust is a little confusing, but it's also referred to as mysticism, and faery. It's just referring to the surreal, and what makes magic magic. Existence includes life, death, creation, destruction, fate, free will, body, and mind. And lastly the nature elements include fire, water, ice, wind, flora, earth, metal, lightning, poison/venom, disease, and acid.

There are cases where elements have side grades, or combinations that create new elements. Lightning combined with metal can be side graded into polarity. Flora can be side graded into paper, like Iris uses. Time and space can be combined to control the dimensional spaces. It's actually common for high end houses to be enchanted with magic known as ‘create, time, space’ which makes the inside bigger than the outside. In fact it's how many countries solve their issues with not having enough square footage to house so many people. It's actually rarer to find houses not enchanted like this because it saves space.

Each element has a visible aura that can be used in magic identification, as well as determining the Feeding Substances or Elemental Natures of any creature.

Darkness has a black or purple aura. Light has a white or bright yellow aura. Time has a monochrome aura. Space has a transparent aura. Sound has a distortion aura. Gravity has a muted coloration. Dust has a prismatic aura. Life has a soft yellow, or golden aura. Death has a dark gray aura. Fate has a muted yellow aura. Free Will has a silver aura. Creation has a white with black edges aura. Destruction has a black with white edges aura. Mind has a soft pink aura. Body has an orange aura. Fire has a red aura. Water has a dark blue aura. Ice has a very light blue aura. Wind has a light green aura. Lightning has a bright blue aura. Flora has a medium green or medium brown aura. Earth has a dark brown, light gray, or sandy aura. Metal has a metallic sheen aura. Poison/venom has a green with black edges aura. Disease has a gray with black edges aura. Acid has a yellow-green aura.

Elements, when used through magic, always have these colorations. However one's Natural Elements may change the aura and coloration of their gifts if said gift uses multiple elements. A case of this is Iris’ lightning, which appears purple because all of her lightning spells also include the darkness element. Her sword sparks with purple lightning because it's a heroic weapon forged with a portion of her total aura, and two of her feeding substances are lightning and darkness.

This leads me into feeding substances. Our bodies do not naturally heal over time. They can only be healed through life magic, vials, and feeding. A feeding substance is an element from which you can restore Blood Aura. Everyone has three feeding substances. These are also known as one's Natural Elements.

Feeding does not require one to physically consume their element, however that is an option. More common is exercising that element such as the case with body and mind, or meditating while in the presence of that element. Feeding takes an hour and restores a fixed amount of Blood Aura. However the higher one's Total Aura the more times one can feed per day. One can exchange their Blood Aura for vials, and visa versa. However using vials for healing is only done in situations where you have time, as vial healing happens over the span of an hour, and requires the body to be resting. The only way to heal in a fight is through life magic, as this process is instant, and doesn't have any harsh requisites like the other two options.
