《Seukine》17. Steps Toward Vengeance

Pueya finally found time to search the room of the Fanu. It had been hours since the Rini started searching the small house. He was meticulous in his search but still couldn't find anything.

The Fanu was being fitted for clothes so the he had plenty of time to search yet his search was coming to an end already. He wondered if the General had lied. The man was taunting them outright and Ghain'dea was never known for subtlety nor did he use misdirect. Pueya didn't know how he felt about the situation at hand.

The Fanu could be innocent or she was keeping the item on her. He could ask her Pristine Sa, but that woman was annoying. Her demeanor always threw him off. He never met such an arrogant Pristine or servant for that matter. As if everyone was beneath her, even the master of the estate.

He thought she would inform them if the Fanu was a traitor if only to save her own neck, but a voice in the back of his mind told him to be more cautious of her than the Fanu.

Sighing inwardly he left the small house and returned to his master's side.

"Turn around one more time." The seamstress asked Firynei. The girl turned around in an underdress with a mute floral pattern. The soft pinks and yellow with an added gray undertone made the girl's skin glow. The seamstress walked around the girl then went to pining the dress again to fix areas she found unsatisfactory. Firynei's body shape was very different from the general populace, so the seamstress tried to find ways to compliment the girl's natural shape.

Wrel watched her cousin silently as she spun around and the seamstress fussed over her. As she watched the girl, her hands rested over her stomach in her half dress pockets. The smooth obsidian bottle was clenched in her hand. Firynei was smiling as she looked at the mirror.

Wrel knew it was probably the first time in a long time that the girl smiled and over clothes that were beneath her. The girl should have been dressed in the most expensive fabrics but here she was smiling over the a floral pattern that was mute and quite frankly boring.

Wrel clenched the bottle in her fist tighter. Lashir would die in her hands, along with the empress for what they did to her family.

Now that Firya was safe in Seukine she could start her plan. Though the woman was in poor shape and look to be poisoned, she could still begin. She would have to take care of the poison foremost, but everything was moving along well.

Wrel was proud that Firynei finally made a move and it was the one she had been hoping for. The girl was finally ready to fight for her rightful spot. Wrel knew her cousin was innocent and should be protected but there was no alternative to what needed to be done. So she would teach the girl to fight the way a woman should.

"Pristine Sa?" Firynei's gentle voice pulled her from her dark thoughts.

"You look adorable," she said watching how the girl lit up at the simple compliment. Her pale cheeks taking on a soft blush. Wrel would end their enemies schemes, if not for her family's honor then for the small girl that had not known peace or happiness for thirteen years and Firya who had lost almost everything.
