《Distant Kingdoms: Magic War》Hazel Meadows: Diary Entry 4

I turned around and looked at the man who had a few scratches on his armor. He rode up on a horse like the weary-eyed shoulders didn’t just fight an exhausting battle. This was the kind of asshole, I would have shot had I been one of those soldiers.

A card enlarged in front of me and I walked through, stepping out in a long and thick white fur coat. My hair was tucked into the hood of the coat. My body was draped by very comfortable thick winter pants and sweaters.

Another card enlarged and a unicorn walked out of it before the card disappeared. I jumped onto its back and walked to the wide-eyed man.

“Are you the reinforcements or do you know how long they will get here?” the man did not beat around the punch.

“About two to three days times at the pace they were marching.” I said to be nice, directing my babe to the large gates that just opened up.

I noticed the morale of the soldiers went up a notch upon hearing that. But they also went up when I arrived like a showboat, so I didn’t expect much from these guys.

The old man caught up with me. “Sorry for my manners. We have been fighting back the demons for months now and this is the third fort that I had to guard. We lost nearly three hundred thousands troops between here and now. So getting information about the reinforcement was something my men desperately needed.” He rushed out everything he wanted to say before taking a deep breath.

Holding out his hand. “I’m General and Duke Luke Thornburgh.”

I stared at him with dead eyes before smirking and riding through the gate. First thing I noticed was that a group of robed men were getting into carriages near the wall tower entrances. They look fresh as if they didn’t cast much magic but I didn’t see the demons casting magic either.

Was there some kind of agreement or did the humans already understand the attack pattern?

The General watched me as he kept his horse step behind mine. I had my unicorn walk around the entire city to get a layout before I stopped at a place that smelled like it had delicious food. Instead of leaving my summon out to drain on my mental energy, I sent it back.

The restaurant smelled fantastic and the set up was pleasant to the eyes. It wasn’t too packed but I noticed the robe wearing wizards sitting down near the fireplace. I dropped into a corner booth seat.

The General had dropped into a chair on a table near me. I hope he wasn’t attracted to my looks. I would have to deter him of such a notion. At most I would prefer one of those wizard gals. At worst, I would take a clean looking commoner.

A waitress with pink hair walked over to me with a smile. “Hello, my lady. Our specialty today is roast beef broth served with a side of rice or noodles. Honey bread is something that comes with the meal. Or would you like to hear other options?”

The waitress had leaned over just so slightly that you could see the tan expanse of her large breast. Ha, did she take me for a sucker? Well, she picked right.

“Yes, I would take that and I’ll give you five gold for joining me. How does that sound?” I tilted my head and looked up at her with my hazel eyes.

I knew what they could do to people with the way my bangs always rested over my forehead, almost blocking my sight. I was that perfect brunette that could turn heads even when waking up with bed hair and walking out in pajamas.

The waitress smiled and grew bigger. I guess she was a bigger player than I was. She marked me at the door. It had to be the way I walked.

“Of course, my lady. Do you want something to drink to go with that? We have a specialty brew that is simply heavenly.” She jest, giving me a dimpled smile while doing a slight wiggle that brought my eyes away from her heart shaped face down to her perky breast again.

Ha, I was a target. Interesting!

“I have something. I’ll let you taste when you come back.” I giggled.

She smiled brighter and took the gold coin I slipped onto the table. Quickly pocketing it as she walked away with added sway in her hips that brought more than my attention. Other than looking, it seemed other men already knew she wasn’t for them.

Interesting.

I leaned back against the booth and enjoyed the chit chat that was about nothing special. The sound of the fireplace crackling as it devoured wood. When the waitress made it back with a wooden tray filled with porcelain dishes, I was ecstatic and sat up.

Pulling a cold wine bottle and two glasses out of my storage card. She raised an eyebrow as she took a seat on the other side. I popped open the wine and poured some, sliding her cup closer to her.

She swirls the glass while looking at me, rearranging my plate. I pulled out my own utensils and napkin, digging into the heavily spice dish.

The waitress took a sip before following it up with a longer drink. I couldn’t help smiling while chewing. She blushed and sat the glass down. Quietly watching me eat. The moment I finished she held out a key and stood up, a lot faster than I had expected. Giving me no time to digest the food I just swallow down. I was both in the mood and entertained by her impatience.

New places could be so exciting.

Seems being a hero wouldn’t be a bad thing.
