I felt like my world ended right there after hearing Smoker's words. I mean I am just a normal guy and not an Idiot/monster/made out of rubber to be able to survive Garp's training. Why does this have to happen, I don't know what to do. As I stood there without saying anything thinking about a suitable response
After all, I can't just say that I quit and leave the Marines, I should not know about his training method according to common sense. “What the hell am I supposed to do with this goddamn situation"(I say we run away during night-time)"that seems to be the only available option"

Smoker- he says and starts shaking his shoulders? (WTF)
As I see his odd behavior of trying to stop himself from laughing, I grit my teeth in anger (inside) and put on an annoyingly pleased smile on my face (goddamn, my serious image)

Finally, it seems Smoker was not able to hold back his laughter after seeing me smiling and burst into a loud laugh like he is enjoying himself watching his favorite (comedy)web series.

So after laughing to his hearts contents (about a minute)"I knew it, he was not the type, and something must have triggered him" he calms down and starts to speak.
Smoker- suddenly he becomes serious and says to me.

Is he going to tell me about the hellish training of Garp and say that he agreed because I angered him yesterday or saying that he did all this on the spur of the moment? (I won't forgive you, you bastard!)

Easy- I say to him while sounding hurt and making him realize what has he done and that he could have hurt someone's feeling by being an Idiot. He looks a bit guilty (probably because he is a good person) but he has hell to pay "HAHAHAHA".

Smoker- < the time period will be 2 years and you will be departing in about a months’ time till then you can ask me about the academy and I will be teaching you basic combat training like fist fighting, gun fighting. Sword fighting and starting tomorrow you will be joining the other Marines in their practice.

Two years ago, a meteor fell and decimated the southeastern lands of Gaia, turning them into wastelands constantly shrouded in white fog. None of those who saw the blazing calamity with their own eyes lived to tell the tale, and those who attempted to venture in never came back. Since then, towers, caverns, and ruins have appeared and disappeared without a pattern. Those who were brave enough to venture in were rewarded with a partner capable of defying the natural laws as humanity knows it. People started to call them ‘Incarnation’, and before long, more and more Incarnation were gathered and sold as commodity, especially after a billionaire has sponsored a fighting tournament offering cash prizes to those possessing the strongest Incarnation, spurring the greedy and desperate to hunt for the fabled creatures at the cost of their lives. Claire Saphira wanted none of that. She simply wished for a life where she could live without worry of her own survival. As she ran from the debt collectors for the umpteenth time, she was swallowed by an errant tower, where she saw a frail, pale-skinned girl with ashen hair hung by chains. It was a chance, a chance to participate in the tournament and live without worrying about survival. Yet, something nagged in the back of her mind. Why did she look so familiar?
